Jack stared anxiously at Adrianna as she stood in front of Lucy who seemed very anxious and couldn’t take her eyes away from the dagger the witch was holding in front of her.

Slowly, Adrianna lifted the dagger to Lucy’s face and touched her cheek with it, causing her to shiver profusely while she bent her head to be able to get a better view of the sharp edge dagger that almost pierced her skin.

Lucy whimpered in pain as Adrianna pushed the dagger a little bit deeper into her skin while she sniggered with her dirty set of teeth showing fully.

“Maybe a little motivation will grant you the kind of courage you need to do what I have asked you!” Adrianna said to Jack without turning to look at him while she kept her eyes on Lucy who was trying to say something to her but ended up muffling her words as a result of the piece of clothing used to tie her mouth.

“What are you doing? Don’t hurt her!” Jack couldn’t bear watching Lucy bear the pain from the sharp edge of the dagger the witch

Sierra and Vince kept their eyes on Dwayne and the sight of him almost dying as a result of the witch's tight grip on his neck caused them to breathe frantically while their hearts raced to unknown destinations. “Please, Adrianna! I beg you! Let him go.” Jack pleaded again, and luckily, Adrianna listened, turning to look at him. “I like you, Jack. You are always willing to do the needful, but that’s a very wrong way to live if you want to survive in this cruel world.” Adrianna smirked at Jack, and then she let go of Dwayne who muffled his coughs after he gasped loudly, and panted while struggling to regain his breath. Adrianna looked at Dwayne for a while, and after she had given him a painless slap on his left cheek, and turned to Jack and started walking up to him with the dagger ahead of her. “I will do whatever you want, Adrianna. Don’t hurt them.” Jack said in an attempt to convince her not to harm any of his companions, but she ignored him and continued moving after hi

Realizing that what he said unexpectedly worked out for him, Jack decided that he was going to stick with it even though he felt a cringe all over him as a result of saying the things he didn't mean to say to her. “You think I am beautiful?” Adrianna asked with her rough and scanty brows lifted to form a furrow while Jack stood almost frozen in front of her with his eyes avoiding a stare at Seth who was slowly getting closer with every passing second. “What are you looking at?” Adrianna said with a low tone, and then she tried to turn around to look toward the direction of the other adventurers she tied to trees when she realized that Jack was distracted. “Yes! I think you are very beautiful!” Jack continued anxiously, looking at Adrianna who was forced to remain the way she was the moment she heard him say she was beautiful. “You are the most beautiful Enchantress I have ever seen, Adrianna! I love the way you smile, it reminds me of the sun, his lovely it is.” Jack was surprised

Fortunately, Seth was not his usual self at that moment, and the rest of the adventurers were glad that he wasn’t shaking like a leaf while he lifted his sword and stood a few inches behind the old witch who was completely unaware of what was going on behind her. With his hands still holding onto Adrianna with firm grips, Jack managed to pull her a bit closer to himself while still struggling with her bad breath and awful appearance. He looked at Seth who was ready to take a strike, and then he made his grip tighter and looked behind the witch to look at Seth. “Seth, now!” He continued holding onto Adrianna while Seth forcefully plunged his sword through her back with both hands, causing the other end to come out through her back. “What have you done?” Adrianna screamed in pain while she looked at Jack who instantly let go of her, allowing

The sound of Adrianna’s voice caused the five adventurers to turn to look at her. She was still on the floor, grunting in so much pain, and when she attempted to crawl toward another corner of the hut, her strength failed her, and she remained in her position. “We need to leave,” Dwayne said to the others, and then he managed to bend down slowly to pick up the map from the floor before taking a step toward the exit of the hut. Succumbing to the bruises all over his body, he staggered after making a second attempt to walk, almost falling to the ground. Jack was able to catch him before he fell, and he held onto him firmly with both hands. “Come on, this way…” Jack helped Dwayne to move toward the exit of the hut, and when he was sure that he had gotten a grip on himself, he let him go and hurriedly picked up his energy blade before he joined the others who had rushed out of the hut. “Hurry, Jack!” Lucy called out to him the moment she saw him coming out from the hut, and he hastene

“I am glad I could help. The witch thought she had managed to put me to sleep, but she forgot that Centaurs do not fall completely to the effects of witchcraft and magic. We are magical creatures, and magic hardly works on us…” “That’s right, I was beginning to imagine how you were able to escape from her…” Lucy said with a nod that showed that she had fully understood what had happened, and her curiosity settled. “This isn’t right…” Dwayne whispered to the hearing of everyone as he looked at the map he was holding with both hands and looked down the cliff where the water flowed down to the other side. “What is it, Dwayne?” Sierra asked with a whisper, but he was silent while he tried to figure out the strange occurrence he had witnessed at that time. “This can’t be right, this must be a mistake.” “What is it, Dwayne? What did you see?” Lucy asked curiously as she drew closer to him, and peeped at the map to figure out what he was worried about. Seth drew closer almost immediate

The suspense that lingered in the midst of the six adventurers was accompanied by a sudden silence that almost engulfed them entirely until Jack decided that it was time to discard the silence. He cleared his throat twice to draw their attention, and when he was certain that everyone was looking at him, he began to address them. “Listen, guys…” He started with a calm tone, gesturing to them even though Sierra didn’t seem interested in what he was about to say. “What the three of you did was totally wrong, you couldn’t have hidden such an important thing from us. But we can’t stand here all day and talk about it as though we don't have other important things to worry about…” “But they refused to tell us that they had spoken to Charles Oliver before he died. Why would they hide that kind of information from us? How can we even trust them after this? Elves!” Seth scoffed in annoyance, and at that moment, he began to distance himself from Dwayne who realized that he didn’t have any ho

“I have some friends among the guards, they agreed to help us get into his cell. With a price, of course. They insisted that it was going to be the night before the day of his execution because that was the night he was transferred to a private cell where he was prepared for his final breath.” Dwayne paused for a few seconds before he continued with a low tone. “We weren’t able to get so much information from Charles Oliver as our time was limited, and he wasn’t really willing to talk. He insisted that he was only going to speak the next day before his execution, but we pleaded with him. Eventually, he decided to tell us where to get the map, but he still told us to be aware that we weren’t going to be the only ones looking for the medallion.” “Charles Oliver warned us about Lord Rasmus, saying that he could never be trusted, even Humans who happened to be the ones who betrayed him and got him arrested. At the end of our visit, he warned us not to tell anyone that we had spoken to h

At that time, there was a few seconds of silence while everyone was trying to get out of the confusion that lingered in their minds. “What do you mean by that, Seth? How can we move to another dimension without knowing it? Is that even possible?”“Well, I think so…” Seth said with a little certainty, but that wasn’t enough to convince Lucy and Jack who seemed to be more doubtful than the others, especially Lucy who disagreed with a shake of her head. “This is insane!” Lucy sighed, her eyes showing signs of doubt and uncertainty while she looked at Seth, hoping to get more explanations for his claims. “You are saying that we might have entered into another dimension without knowing?”“That’s correct, Jack.” Seth nodded to affirm his words, looking convincingly at Jack who sighed softly before he continued. “At what point to you think we got into another dimension, then?” Jack asked the most puzzling question, putting everyone in a period of long thinking while he waited to get an a

You all saw the way his body looked. I don’t think he will be able to be out there on his own. This dimension is full of monsters.” Lucy said with a tone laced with so much concern, but Sierra scoffed almost, with a look of disdain on her face. Lucy stared at her with a little surprise in her eyes, wondering why she was still the way she was. She seemed to be the only pe

For the first time ever since they left the city for the dimension in search of the medallion, the adventurers slept like babies, with a little relief in their minds. All of a sudden, they had forgotten that they were in am area where monsters and creatures of all kinds nestled. Nothing else mattered at that time, not even the fact that they weren’t sure of how to go back. Jack was the first to wake up at the first flicker of dawn. He blinked his eyelids several times to get rid of the weakness that tried to shut his eyes just before he stretched and yawned, pushing himself up while he groaned loudly. He could see that the sun was shining brightly, but the strange color of the dimension still remained the same, different from that of Earth. Right beside him was Lucy who was still sound asleep, enjoying the cool breeze that perched on her face. She smiled while she was fast asleep, and Jack could tell that she was having the most amazing dream.

“Guys? None of you is saying anything! You can’t just keep quiet about this, whatever decision we are making, I think we need to make it together.” Jack said calmly while he looked at Lucy whose eyes were saying more words than her mouth at that time. He could see from the look in her eyes that she wanted him to pass judgment that would be very easy for him to endure. She was even willing to let go and hoped that everyone was going to agree with her even though she knew that it was going to be very difficult, especially with Sierra involved. Lucy was the most compassionate among all the adventurers, she was merciful and kind, and could easily be made to react to very emotional situations. Her eagerness to react to such things made her the weakest link to them, and she didn’t even know about it. “I think we should let go of everything he has done to us, and move on. After all, we already have found the medallion, and it doesn’t look like we are going to

Dwayne looked at his companions one after the other, and when he saw that they were paying attention while they surrounded him, standing at different corners, he sighed heavily before he went ahead to tell them what they had been longing to hear. “I am dying.” He said with a shaky tone, but his words came as a shock to his companions who didn’t know if they were to believe him him or not. Everyone had become very silent while they looked at Jack who began to come down slowly, looking at Lord Rasmus who threatened to kill Lucy and was serious about it,. He wasn’t mincing words, and Lucy was aware of this as well. “You are wasting my time, boy! Hurry up at once, hand over the medallion, or she is dead!”“You will get the medallion! Don’t just hurt her! Don’t hurt her, okay?” Jack gestured to Lord Rasmus while he slowly came down, and the glow that covered him went off at once. The medallion fell into his hand, and he held it firmly while walking toward him. “Come on! Hand it over, now!” Lord Rasmus said imperatively while he had his eyes on the medallion, still holding onto Lucy who was still shivering under the influence of the fright that gripped her. Halfway to getting to Lord Rasmus, Jack noticed the presence of some shadowed creatures behind him, and he had to stop to be sure he wasn’t hallucinating. The figures disappeared almost as soon as they appeared, and Ja

I need you! Please…” She whimpered while she was still moving backward until she almost staggered to the ground. While Jack was still struggling to understand what was going on, he heard the sound of Lucy’s voice, and reacting to it, he turned abruptly to look at the soldiers who had gone after her, still hanging in the air.“Don’t get close to her!” He said angrily to the soldiers, but they ignored him, and grabbed Lucy at once, dragging her to Lord Rasmus while she struggled to free herself from the

At that moment, the strange sensation that engulfed Jack made him take two steps toward the tomb, but the soldiers who were focused on the tomb as well didn’t take notice of him. As the sensation became more intense, so did he increase his steps, moving gradually but with a constant pace while his eyes continued to gaze at the tomb. “Finally!” Lord Rasmus brightened his face as he approached the tomb as though his life depended on it. He got very close to it, and as soon as the soldiers moved farther away from the tomb, he reached into the tomb and grabbed the medallion with both hands, lifting it up into the air until everyone could see it. “This is the medallion?” Sierra said with a smirk on her face while she stared at the bronze medallion that was visible to every other person. She seemed a little bit disappointed at how small and ordinary the medallion, and she was almost about to regret coming on that mission for something like that. They looked at Lord Rasmus, and when he saw that the words Lucy spoke made them afraid, he turned to look at Lucy who bent her face instantly. “What do you know?” Lord Rasmus moved to Lucy who was standing very close to him, and with each step, he stomped on the earthed floor, her heart skipped several beats while she bent her face, clung to by her nervousness. “Look at me!” Lord Rasmus grabbed Lucy’s neck and forced her to look at him while he maintained a scowl on his face. Jack saw this and wished he could make a move, but the soldiers standing close to him were already aware that he could not be overlooked and had their eyes on him. “What did you say?” “I said that they are going to raise the spirits of the dead kings! I come from a lineage of necromancers, and I know that the tombs of kings should never be desecrated in any way, no matter what. This could awaken their spirits, and they could come for retaliation.” Lucy said with a sh
