Chapter 12

My shoulder felt a very immense pain but it was nothing compared to what I had felt in the car crash. This was what I could endure so I took it as a man and didn't stop for once. I even gnashed my teeth to numb the pain as I ran. When I knew I was a good distance away from them I discarded the hospital bed and ran into an abandoned factory standing in the street. This would give them the information that I had carried Paulina out of the hospital bed with me.

This factory was very large and open with several machines and tools. The advantage was I could use the machines to conceal myself. The disadvantage was it was very open and quiet. Any small noise would be heard and I would be noticed instantly. If I didn't have sufficient luck I would be instantly killed.

I could hear several footsteps which stopped after some minutes. Obviously they had seen the hospital bed and stopped to scrutinize it.
