Jed's eyes glazed over some certain body parts before he quickly looked away, swallowing nervously. Liana didn't reply to him but she bent and tried flapping the jacket over her unconscious friend.

"How's the situation outside?" She asked, her voice sounding like music to Jed's ears amidst the chaos.

"Everywhere is completely consumed by the fire except this place."

Jed remembered the man in the hallway and stepped out to check on him.

He was still lying motionlessly in that sitting position.

"The fire department must be on their way now," He stepped back, looking everywhere else while trying to avoid looking at Liana.

He didn't notice her observing his actions. When she realized what he was doing, a small smile appeared on her face.

It was like it bloomed her entire facial features even more. Pity, Jed missed the beautiful scene.
