CH110: Trapped

Someone suddenly screamed. "Fire!" Smoke was starting to rise from the kitchen direction and the scent of something burning filled the air.

Students panicked and scrambled for exits. The fire alarm was still blaring, adding to the confusion.

The staff were trying to get everyone to safety but it was becoming difficult to see through the smoke that had spread rapidly.

One could feel the heat from the fire and the smoke was making it difficult to breathe.

"Jed!" Eric coughed. One minute, they were eating lunch, next minute, they were being choked.

"Get him to safety!" Jed yelled, leading Eric to Ben.

"What about you?"

The staff were still at the entrance and exit leading the students out. Jed turned; he couldn't see anything but he managed to make out in the fog that the table Liana and her companions had previously occupied was empty.

Perhaps she has gotten out. He didn't realize a sigh of relief escaped his lips at that moment.
