Chapter 64: Fame Changes Everything!

The Carter-Seymour ladies sat glowed about by the illuminating candlelights that gave a soft glow to the dining room at Eve's Garden. The aroma of the freshly prepared dishes set before them filled the air, but Mercury's usual appetite and character diminished.

The women cast a concerned gaze on her after Evelyn called out the usual energy of the beauty goddess. Victoria took notice of Mercury's somber demeanor and was quick to join her friend to enquire. “Darling, is everything alright?” Victoria's gentle voice broke the brief silence, her maternal concern kicking in.

Mercury sighed, her gaze fixated on the untouched meal. “It's about Joe Cole,” she admitted without any intention of keeping anything from the women. It was a perfect opportunity for her to finally speak about it to the only women she trusted, and possibly clear her mind off the situation.

Evelyn leaned in, her warm eyes reflected her understanding of what the young woman might be bothered about. “What happened, sweethe
