Road Through Damnation

Chapter 10

So, This Is Mana 3

Anna POV

Why can I not find a loyal friend among all my so-called friends. I know they want benefits from me and surprisingly they are not trying to hide it. Instead, they try to hide their hate and jealousy for me.

Whenever we go to school or when we attend social event, I assume they try to hide that hate and jealousy on their parent accord, but they always do a bad job on at it. Let us have this example here.

I remember we had a certain test in school, and I managed to score the highest marks in the history of the establishment. So, I was awarded an A-rank mana stone and granted access to the school’s archives.

I must tell you that place has a whole lot of books ranging from topics related to magic and topics revolving around sex. It had everything and I had the honor to select another student to join me to serve as a motivation for other students.

I was delighted and decided to do the unthinkable when I selected my archrival as my escort to that school archive. My so-called friends were asking me why I selected her, and I just told them that if I had selected a person who was not my rival, how would I improve myself. I needed that rival of mine to always be on the same level me to bring out my best.

They were all amazed by my wits on the surface but deep down they were infuriated. They did nothing to hide their frustrations when they left my side and that made me happy all day long.

But I personally gave the escort pass to my archrival because; 1. I was always amazed at her fearlessness; she would always confronted me when she felt I had gone overboard and she also did not mind telling me how she truly felt when I did something bad.

These petty acts of hers made me respect her a tiny little bit because she had shown me her true face unlike my friends. Astonishingly, she was just the daughter of a backwater baron. This made the respect I had for her diminish a bit, but she still stood her grounds whenever she confronted me.

The second reason was, I wanted to give my so-called friends the benefit of a doubt, but they failed me greatly and proved this quote to be true.

‘The devil you know is better than the angel you do not know.’ And this quote was clearly proven by the way my friends acted in front of me and what they said behind my back.

(A.N I do not remember where I heard this quote, but I think it was from a certain African movie if I am not mistaken. The quote simply means if you know your enemy you would know how to solve problems, he throws at you but if it is someone you do not know you are dead. The quote is also quite similar to a certain Chinese general’s quote on war, but I sadly do not recall his name. The quote can have another meaning when you think of the angel as a person who comes into your life as a benefactor but behind that benefactor face, the person wants your downfall.)

So, my archrival is my devil, and my friends are the angels, and it was the right choice to choose the devil and up to now I do not regret because she swore allegiance to me and never left my side. She was the reason I was able to escape from my captors. She died blocking a few projectiles coming my way. Sadly, I never took notice of her name. May her soul rest in perfect bliss.

I knew I had this arrogant trait in my behavior, and I did nothing to hide it, I was also cunning and deceptive. In fact, the reason all my friends hated me was because I knew I was the problem, but I never gave myself the solution to the problem.

And to make matters worse, I was a beauty like no other. I had this long ebony hair which reflected sun rays in the morning and the color turned into lustrous silver hue at night. I had a goddess like face with plump rosy lips, a flawless skin which would put the color of snow to shame and to make matters worse. I had curves which were becoming more defining and prominent at the age of 12 years.

Oh, and yes, I was rich and a princess to top it off, so you guys could clearly see where the arrogance was coming from. I was the Ideal woman of every man’s dream.

But I was still a kid who needed friends, I was lonely and always kept things to myself. That loneliness and seclusion gave me a cold demeanor which made people distance themselves further away from me.

But all that changed when I had my class awakening at the age of 13.

(A.N Yeah, Yeah, I know that Anan does not have the stats like Drew and this status window has no level ups. I know that very well and that is why I gave my MC this type of system. I do not want the user to have too much of an advantage over the netizens in the world. And you guys would accept the fact that too much plot armor makes the MC too lucky and generic.)

I was surprised, I had two unique abilities and that was strange because everyone had only one unique ability. A unique ability is an ability everyone is born with, meaning it was decided at birth and everyone is blessed by one. It is quite normal for others’ unique ability to be stronger than others, but everyone starts at a basic level. And in fact, talent and hard work will be the main reasons for someone to get stronger in the future. But there are some other ways one get stronger but I do not have the time to talk about it. Let’s continue with the story, the author’s hand is on my neck.

(A.N Guys, Anna is lying do not mind her. She is just being lazy right now.)

This means I am an anomaly, which is good at the same time a curse because I must now carry heavy burdens of expectations from my parents and kingdom.

My head begins to ache slightly with such thoughts and the constant stares were not helping me.

“MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN BLESSED BY THE GODS, LET’S US CELEBRATE AND MARK THIS DAY IN OUR HISTORY BOOKS.” Father’s shout just had to make matters worse because the commoners who were around began to shout, hop, and fool around.

The awakening ceremony had to be put on hold because of me and of course those hooligans. I was happy and at the same time disgusted, I was happy because I could grow stronger but disgusted because the commoners around were doing what they did best and that was to cause mayhem and destruction.

I never saw commoners as my equal because we were cut from the same cloth. One was dirty whilst the other was gold our values decided who we were meant to be, and nothing changed that. No matter how powerful they become they will always be commoners.

After the celebrations, I went to my room because I was tired and needed to take a closer look at my second at my second ability. Father had given me the go ahead to decide what path I wanted to take.

When I got my room, I felt relieved and fell on my bed, I was tired. And staring at the ceiling in my room I began to reminisce about my life until this point. And I had to admit it sucked like hell. I needed a friend, I needed someone to laugh with and share all my pains with. I needed someone who was on equal levels with me. I needed someone who was just like me.

I wished to take the quality path I said in my heart as I cried myself to bed.

But little did I know I would wake up to see my wish come true.

A melodious piano piece filled Anna’s room indicating it was time for the young princess to get up. But she woke up to a shock so great she fell of her bed with a thud.

How is another me sleeping on my bed?

Confused by what I saw greatly I did nothing to hide that surprise from my face. I stood up from the floor and got closer to the sleeping figure only to find out it was indeed another me. She was beautiful and looked so pure, I felt nauseous.

I got closer to her and shook her gently, “Wake up.” I said softly but the sleeping figure made no subtle movement. “Wake up.” I said gently again but she made no movement. I tried a third time again but got no movement from her.

On the fourth time I smacked her hard on her ass, forcing her to jump out of the bed with a start. I must say her ass is soft and squishy.

“Who are you? And why do you look like me?” Looking back at the other me.

“I am you and your clone Anna. I was able to exist here thanks to you, as you can see, I look just like you to every single detail and, I possess 95% of your battle prowess and intelligent.” The clone said to me smiling, I also reciprocated her smile and began to talk with her about many things.

That day I was happy because I had finally gotten a friend who was just like me and looked just like me. I promised myself never to let anything befall her because if something same had to her, it would also happen to me.

After a day of getting to know her, I decided to tell my father about my choice, and he accepted it without delay. I could clearly see how happy he was, his daughter had finally found someone she could play with and have fun with.

After spending months with the clone, I now named Raven, I got to know inherited all my experiences and knowledge as I go about everyday. Anything I learnt she also received that knowledge and vice versa. With that experience sharing among us I was able to get perfect scores in all examinations I took part in. Meaning more archives visits and more angels eating shit.

But one day, I felt weird all over my body, at that instance I knew Raven was in trouble and someone was trying to force himself on her. I was angry and boiling with rage now.

Without thinking I run with all my strength to where Raven was. I felt repulsed to find a guard forcing himself on Raven and Raven being as dumb and naïve as ever laying on the floor with her eyes closed. I could feel her fear, disgust, and pain but I paid no heed to it because I had to clear my head for what I was about to do next.

I tiptoed to where the guard was and smashed him on the head with a vase. Luckily for me he was in a drunken state so he could not fight back at me. When I saw him fall off Raven and bleeding from a cut on his head, I felt a bit relaxed.

When I saw him off Raven, I looked at her with disgust and pure malice in my eyes. I knew she could fight back but I did not understand why she decided not to do so. I looked at her with that disgusted look in my eyes for some seconds and then shifted my focus back to the guard.

He was trying to gain consciousness and that made me resent him more. I then decided to try a trick I learnt with my blood manipulation.

I decided to change the state of the blood on the floor into solid when I finished changing the form into solid. I shoved the solidified blood in his ass and turned the rod within him.

The guard screamed and begged but Anna ignored all his pleas. When Anna sensed many presences behind her, she solidified another blood and shoved it into the poor guard’s mouth.

“GAGHH, GHHH, GUGGHGHH.” Where the only sound the poor man could make.

When I felt satisfied, I willed both rods to meet each other in the guard’s stomach. And I became pleased when I felt them meet there.

Afterwards I was oblivious of all the happenings around me and just got closer to Raven to give her a stern warn. I told her that the next time she acted this weak in front of her enemies, I would personally kill her.

At that moment, a certain hate and jealousy brew up in Raven. This made me a bit happy because she would not be weak again and that naivety she had also began to vanish.

Back To Where We Left Of

“Raven why don’t we go outside with Drew tomorrow I think he needs a new environment to help strengthen his mana pathways.”

“Totally agree with you.”
