Chapter 25

I TAPPED ON my bed gesturing her to sit beside me.

“Mhm.”

I remember replying, smiling crazily at her.

“Your brother’s gonna train me”

I scooped away myself to give her space and she smiled at that as she positioned herself, intentionally closer and held my hand.

“He told me.”

she said.

“Really? He’s bossy than I thought.”

I said.

“I know right.”

she replied laughing.

“It’ll be hard.”

she added

“What?”

“Your training. He’s a tough recruit officer.”

“That’s what I want.”

I replied, my voice for some reason quite unstable. It was always like that when she was around. Her smile sent electricity through me. It was my how hard I was fallen for her.

“Cody.”

“Mm?”

“He trusts you a lot, you know? He never trusts people like that.”

she said thoughtfully without looking at me. I nodded silently. It felt so burdensome when she said that, like I was being stabbed with thousand knives. They did believe me but deep inside, they did have a suspicion which they didn’t want to have but couldn’t help.
