Chapter 2

"NO!" the cold, heartless words still echoed in his head.

As he held the list of chores for the day in his hand. He held back tears  — painful, resentful, angry tears.

Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes, deep in thought.

"What were you expecting, that he would care?. That he would be interested in your life in your education?" the voice in his head laughed at him. "It would be better for him if you didn't exist," the voice continued to mock him.

He shook his head, putting on his headphones; he began cleaning. He swept, mopped, dusted and scrubbed the floors, cabinets and carpets.

He did the laundry, avoiding any of Viana's under wears, then he did the dishes.

On finishing his chores, he quickly showered, opening his wardrobe. He had only three white shirts and two pairs of jeans.

Aries put on a shirt and jeans.

Picking up his bag, he headed out for work. He walked briskly on the streets of the rich kids as it drizzled. He walked even faster.

A sports car came towards him with an absurd speed; he jumped out of the way. They drove pass splashing a puddle of water all over him.

He paused for a second, trying to comprehend what the Fuck just happened.

"Shit!" he swore under his breath. He cussed at them, " you fucking son of bitch can't you drive?".

The driver threw a middle finger from his car window at him and drove away.

The bus arrived and Aries quickly got in. The passengers threw disgusted stares at him, making him uncomfortable.

He ignored the stares sitting in an empty corner.

A girl walked onto the bus. Sitting beside him, she scrunched her nose, looking down at him.

Aries averted his gaze, closing his eyes as he listened to the sound of the rain.

The quiet humming of the bus it was peaceful. He was about to fall asleep when he felt someone shift towards him.He sighed, exasperated, at the short-lived peace.

The bus stopped, and he got off.

Taking a deep breath before walking into the mall, he said his daily quote. "She's just a sad, lonely bitch who has no friends and family. "

With that encouragement, he walked into the mall. "Good morning miss Chen".

"You are late," she snapped, barely acknowledging his presence.

She did her usual morning check-in with the cash register and the account book. He did a quick survey around the place with his eyes, noticing he was the only employee currently on the premises.

He put on his a smile that was scarier than Chucky's.

"It's 8:00am Miss Chen. I'm the only employee here, so I'm pretty sure I'm early," he assured her.

Receiving a death stare from her dark Asian orbs, she dared him to talk back again. Aries chuckled nervously getting settled in.

He hated this job more than anything. Sucking up to costumers, who were confused, annoying or just plain rude was the worst.

A fat lady stared at a can of beans assessing the container.

"Are you sure it's not expired?" she asked for the fifth time.

A vein was nearly about to pop into Aries's head. Taking a deep breath and a plastic perfect smile, he assured her."No mam, we had those beans restocked this morning."

He noticed the girl earlier from the bus walked into the mall. He didn't like this, not even a little.

Her group of friends walked in with her, checking for CCTV cameras.

They acted suspicious, Aries got a terrible feeling about them as he packaged the fat lady's goods.

The girl brought her cart to the counter. Aries checked her goods. She stared at him intensely.

"You are pretty cute," she complimented him, twisting her blond hair around her finger.

Aries corked an eyebrow at the minor but feigned ignorance, continuing with her absurd amount of drinks, which he calculated.

They were really hard drinks."I like you, you're hot" she batted her eyelashes at him, she licked her bright pink lips biting it.

Was she trying to flirt with him? He wondered, noticing her heavy makeup and her super short skirt. "Young lady, I'm going to need an ID. You are going to have to be legal to order these drinks," he bluntly told her.

She rolled her eyes, bending a little until her massive boobs popped up in her button-up shirt.

Aries looked her in the eye not budging, a very tall girl walked up to the counter. She had tattoos all over, neck and arms, her hair was bright pink. She chewed gum loudly, folding her muscled arms.

"The drinks are mine. Is there a problem? " The huge girl asked, her voice was deep. She was definitely not a minor. Aries shook his head vigorously, totalling her price. The tall girl walked away.

"That would be one thousand dollars," he informed her, stretching his hand for her credit card.

Batting her long lashes she pleaded "Can't you give me for free?"

The blonde little girl pouted, leaning closer, her boobs in his face. The smell of cigarettes touched his nose. "Young lady, pay your bill or I will have security drag you out," He told her sternly.

She frowned, throwing her credit card on the counter, grabbing the packaged the goods she left.

After for what seemed like forever, his shift ended. Unable to afford the bus home, he walked the quiet streets alone.

The weather got dark quickly; the sky gathered a storm.

Someone slapped his head from behind. He turned around to see a gang of girls.

All holding guns in their hands. They pointed it straight at his forehead.

The blonde girl appeared out of the crowd."Well, hello, prince charming," she said in a sultry voice.

Rolling his eyes he questioned "What do you want now?" He received a hard blow on his legs, making him fall to his knees.

She held him by the collar, her green eyes filled with irritation.

"One, you don't stand when I speak." she signaled to her the huge girl who seemed to be her favourite, the huge hulk of a girl handed her a shotgun.

"Two, when I call you cute. freaking smile," she said, fury burning in her emerald gaze. He was shaking. " Well, where is it? Where's my freaking smile?" she barked, slapping him.

Forcing a huge smile on his lips, frozen in fear as he did so.

As she used the gun to trace from his neck to his chest, rest the gun right in his heart. "Good, you look good, honey. There's my smile."

She grinned like a psycho "Tell me, love, should I kill you?" she asked, a breath away from him and he almost peeped his pants.

"I'm bored, so I had to make you my entertainment for the day. Hope you don't mind?" She held his hair with her other hands.

And he shook his head vigorously. "I don't, not at all."

He whimpered in fear. "You are pretty ugly and you know it, baby?" she teased, slapping his face three times. She laughed with excitement. At the fear in his dark eyes.

Flipping her hair over her shoulder, she placed the gun on his forehead again.

She grinned as he continued to tremble. "please let me go," he pleaded, and she slapped him again.

She spat on the ground. "Ah, it's no fun if you're just gonna cry."

Squeezing his cheek, her eyes gleamed with delight. "Oh goodness baby, you turn me on when you look like that. So tell me, what will it be?" she grinned.

Pulling a coin out of her pocket, some pedestrians were passing, and she shot her gun in the air making them run away screaming.

She grimaced. "Ah fuck shit, don't they know this is my turf, flipping nuisance?"

Turning her attention back on him, tears were streaming down his cheeks now as she pinched his cheek stopping down to his level. " Hey Cutie, let's play a game, baby. I have a coin if it lands on the head you live. It lands on the tail you die?".
