The entire top floor is regarded as the company's pinnacle. This was the humble abode of the Great Emperor Ru Weimin.
The floor was divided into three considerable sections.
The first section was known as the Executive Hall. Anyone entering the top floor will immediately come into contact with this dark polished stone brick wall embedded with large lettered gold fonts embellished with LED lights to glorify its position.
Turning a corner, the office surrounded by one-way dark stained glass walls would be seen. A conference table coupled with gray carpeted chairs was placed inside, facing a platform with a rostrum set up adjacent to the door. Both floor-to-ceiling windows were covered with venetian blinds.
An overhead projector was installed on the ceiling, with a wide whiteboard occupying the stark wall behind the rostrum. There were additional microphones, one at the table and one on the side of the stage. Other decorations, like potted plants, were added depending on who was occupying the room.
The room was intended to be used for meetings.
The usual occupants would be the board of directors, headed by Ru Weimin. Monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports will be handled within this room. On some rare occasions, the area will be reserved by department heads to discuss small proposals. Ru Weimin would still attend these private meetings, but normally it was San Zhao who oversaw them.
Due to its restricted access, every employee referred to this room as a "sacred place." Anyone would go to great lengths to get a foothold on this formidable ground.
Why was this the case?
Apart from conforming to one's outstanding talents, the members were also people in positions of power. Being in their good graces may pave the way for a smooth ascent into the ranks of the industry's elite.
Many people sought to show off everything they could while scheming incessantly in order to climb the ladder. There were bribes taken, some even offered sexual payment, just to take part in any meetings. The battle was ruthless and always ended in a bloodbath.
However, the higher-ups weren't entirely foolish. It has taken them many years to become wise old foxes who have dabbled in the darkest recesses of human nature. They were able to tell right away if a product was good or bad just by looking at it.
As a result, only a select few individuals have been successful in obtaining a successful career. And they mostly deserve it.
Walking straight from the lobby of the Executive Hall will lead to the largest area of the floor. It was composed with small offices, including the area for secretaries, and the CEO's office where a separate room for resting was constructed.
A king-sized bed occupied the most space in the resting room, with a nightstand at the upper side of the bed. A cabinet door was placed in the corner near the bathroom where the common showerhead, sink, and bathtub were installed.
The other wall facing the outside was made up of a floor-to-ceiling glass wall covered by a thin line of silk and blinders. It highlighted the range of the city and would be pleasant to look at during the night.
On the opposite corner from the CEO's office was where the secretary's table could be found. It was considerably closer to the door and more visible upon entrance. The secretary deals with the guests more, so it was reasonable for its position to be in a friendlier location.
The desk was completely tidy, with a newly acquired computer set installed near the wall. There were couples of four legged chairs before the table, which served as the sitting area for the visitors.
All things considered, this position is very advantageous for welcoming people.
The CEO's desk was not far off and can be found almost on the middle edge. With the room only separated by a glass wall, the CEO can be found in its typical shadowed appearance with a glass floor-to-ceiling window background.
This position was imposing enough to intimidate the lower class and to challenge the guts of the executives. Even the secretary took in a long time to be accustomed to the concentrated intimidation released by the CEO.
On the similar room, on the side, was a set of sofa set-up in an enclosed position with a glass table in the middle. An exquisite tea set was placed on the middle of the glass table, decorated with some science-cy toy-like pendulum that continued to sway once it started the movement.
A carpet floored this area, sealing a relaxing atmosphere. This was where the CEO would talk with his clients, or some close friends that were visiting to have some fun time taking some tea.
There were a fridge and coffee maker on the corner if ever one preferred soda or coffee over the tea. Whenever little sister goes to visit, she would hang out in this place to read some of the newly bought magazines.
The third room of the top floor was Ru Weimin's personal space. It was like a condominium unit. It's just that there are no such things as rooms for sleeping or kitchen for cooking.
It was a recreational area where a set of musical instruments are placed, as well as fitness equipment. A swimming pool can be found on the farthest corner, with a bar filled with expensive wines and alcohol.
If the CEO were feeling bored or just wanted to relax, he would go to this place to take a swim or swig a drink. Only few people know this place, and only these few people were allowed to enter the area.
Qi Sying listened as the cold system explained the interior of the top floor. The youth was merely asking for the direction going towards the CEO's office, but the system took its own intel to give Qi Sying all the information.
The system did not hesitate to spit everything out, so Qi Sying took everything seriously. Only after the system finished had done, he commented.
"He has a swimming pool on the top floor?" Qi Sying exclaimed, surprised. "How the hell was that even constructed? Is it safe to swim there?"
He had seen from internet before a swimming pool constructed in a high rise building. One look was enough to see how dangerous the place was. Many netizens commented it was photoshopped, just an edited picture of someone with a creative imagination and good grasp in technology.
Qi Sying believed that whether it was real or not, he won't dare to bath in such susceptible area. Merely seeing the almost transparent walls supporting the water was enough to make his back shiver from cold.
The system wanted to say, 'well, if it is safe or not, you won't still be able to enter that area' but it kept its mouth shut. He just let Qi Sying mumble all of his disbelief as they ascended to the top floor.
Only by opening the elevator doors did Qi Sying stop his inquiries. He exited the elevator and turned his head to look around. The first thing that he saw was the iconic dark polished stone brick wall embedded with the large gold font embossed words stating "EXECUTIVE HALL" with plants decorated on the edges.
A pair of female attendants was stationed on the end side hall. They were San Zhao's assistants responsible for receiving guests.
Qi Sying adjusted his expression to match the original's and approached the counter. The ladies that were arranging the meetings and schedule whatsoever of the company glanced of the incoming youth.
The smiling yet nervous face of Jun Zihao softened the usual vigilance they had, so they accepted the approaching being. Qi Sying cleared his throat as though he was frightened of choking in the middle of asking.
"Um... I am called upstairs," Qi Sying muttered.
The ladies looked at him, and then looked down at the schedule at hand to see if there was such a thing. After inquiring his name for the nth time, the ladies still did not find his name and told him that he needed an appointment if he wanted to see the secretary.
Qi Sying gave them a rather bewildered look. Why does he need to get an appointment if the one who called him was the other person? He wanted to voice this out, but he chose to give thanks to the ladies.
Qi Sying already knows this thing will happen to him. According to the original's memory, the bullying started right from this time. Even though San Zhao called for Jun Zihao, he purposely delayed informing the ladies on the front desk to let Jun Zihao wait.
This was to test his patience and just simply make fun of him. The original soul thought that maybe the one on the attendance counter got the wrong person so he never thought too much about it. But for the new soul, he already knew the reason since he had the insight of the future.
Yet, despite knowing, it still made him irritated. It's okay if he was the one who does the bullying, but he was the one being bullied!
They treated the pure Jun Zihao so wrongly. What a bully!
The ladies were troubled by Qi Sying's distraught expression. This person would not appear unless someone specifically requested his presence, right? Furthermore, no matter how meticulous San Zhao was, there were instances when he forgot to alert the personnel on the reception of someone's arrival. They recalled that they had previously blocked the CEO's sister from visiting her brother. They got in contact with the CEO's office because they didn't want something like this to happen again. As was customary, the call would be channeled through the secretary before being forwarded to the CEO. San Zhao answered the phone right away. Jun Zihao's appearance prompted him to immediately make an excuse, telling the lady to hold the call for a minute since there was another call on the same lin
Despite the fact that Jun Zihao had already been appointed to become the CEO's personal secretary, it was clear that this was merely a false title. After observing his "odd" activities for a few days, the company's employees discovered he was no different than a servant. Because Jun Zihao had done nothing else but brew coffee, make tea, buy him lunch, get this brand-new shirt for the CEO, the boss was thirsty offer him cold water, dump the trash downstairs, photocopy this blank bond paper, get the boss an umbrella, park his car, massage his shoulders...etc. The last thing hasn't happened yet, but he'll be ordered to do it sooner or later. Jun Zihao had completed all of the errands that were required of him during the first week, establishing him the reputation of being a perfectly obedient dog. His every step was followed by the executives working in the vicinity, and they couldn't help but feel sorry for him. It would have been nice if all of Jun Zih
Wen Yuan notified them about Jun Zihao's invitation. Everyone enthusiastically accepted the offer. They were so excited they couldn't wait for the day to end. "Xiao Hao did not forget about us! He is such a wonderful person!" One of the ladies commented, openly sending Jun Zihao a "gentleman" card. "That child is incredibly kind. He would never hesitate to help someone out. You remembered the other day when I was asked to carry two boxes of documents? It just so happened that Xiao Hao and I met on the way. He assisted me carry the boxes up to the seventh floor!" "Why did you allow him help you? You should have just declined. We're all aware of what the higher-ups were up to. He is already tired working around," someone pointed out. They are all aware of Jun Zihao's status. They were not too naive to not see what San Zhao was doing. Only the blind and people like Jun Zihao would be fooled by such a lawless act. They could only sigh since they couldn't
It would be wrong if Jun Zihao did not ever question why the system was giving him these tasks. To give him points by just doing small tasks – isn’t that a disadvantage to the other side? Considering this, the extra missions' simplicity did not correspond to the difficulties of the Main and Side missions. It hasn't been until now that Qi Sying grasped the significance of these sentiments. The extra missions paved the way for Qi Sying's integration into the world as well as let him decide on Jun Zihao's fate. The system did not issue him any restrictions but also did not allow him to just recklessly act things out. These small tasks worked as suggestive options that would guide him towards the path of no regrets. No wonder it was called "extra mission" since it was not an obligatory action. Qi Sying was now undergoing an important event that might help Jun Zihao in the future. According to the story, Jun Zihao brought his senior colleagues to d
When the question was asked, everyone else stopped eating. They locked their gaze on the individual who had posed the query. What are you doing? Did you know that the Jun Family and Ru Industries were in competition with one another? Jun Zihao was about to take a bite when he was interrupted by the question. He set the fork down and sat back, restlessly eating the food he'd just taken a bite of. Jun Zihao stooped his head, attempting to make himself smaller. He had the appearance of a child who was being bullied. For a while, the room was deafeningly silent before a faint whisper broke the trance. "Um... Y-you could guess I have some connections w-with them." He didn't directly reveal his position. Everyone was aware of the huge family size of the Jun Family that even the main branch had five sons. They were guessing which family branch Jun Zihao belonged to. "Ah... That's good, very good," someone tried to ease the tension. "I never thought w
The butler still looked puzzled, but he didn't say anything. Well, if the young master was constipated, then he suggests the young master should avoid eating foods that have too much fiber and take pineapples into consideration. If anything else, he should drink a lot of water to at least lighten his digestion. Young people these days often eat junk food or not eat anything at all. Everything was processed, so it was no wonder many people would have queasy stomachs and delicate immune systems. The butler took note of giving the young master Jun a healthy diet plan. But this thought was not the one that made the old man puzzled. What he wanted to know was why the young master had to leave the private room if it has a comfort room installed inside? To become an excellent establishment, the owner of the restaurant exhausted all its resources to create a place that can satisfy the customers. They are predominantly serving wealthy people, so they should be able to
Suddenly, his breathing hitched. Qi Sying was completely taken aback by the unexpected turn of events. He had no inkling that they would meet in such a strange place. The two people were not looking at each other directly, but instead relied on the mirror in front of them to maintain contact. Even though the steam produced by the frosty air slightly blurred the edges of their reflections, it wasn't quite enough to mask the emotions that were evident on their faces. Qi Sying started to rack his already damaged brain for ideas on how to escape this scenario, but he was unable to do so as his surroundings began to warp in circles. He reached out with one arm, expecting to brace himself against the frigid countertop, but his swirling vision missed the distance. One step back and his body is almost ready to collapse Thankfully, someone towed him before he fell to the floor. His back was supported by a huge hand, while the other wrapped around his hips. Qi Sying wa
While Ru Weimin was in the midst of contemplating, Qi Sying vomited once more. This time, Ru Weimin did not hesitate to come closer and support the youth. Even though their interactions were indirect and primarily consisted of Ru Weimin discreetly stealing glances at Jun Zihao, he still felt he had a duty to care for the young man. As the young man puked solid air, he stroked his back, trying to relieve pressure points and make his retching less painful. This small gesture helped Qi Sying gradually recover. The contractions in his stomach became less intense, and he no longer had the sensation of his stomach being ripped out. Ru Weimin assisted him wash his face by dabbing the dripping sweat from Qi Sying's drenched forehead with his handkerchief. Qi Sying was still slowly getting out of the pain and didn't notice the calm gentleness coming from the ice cold man. "Are you... Are you feeling fine now?" Ru Weimin asked, almost making his voice crack. Th
