Chapter 24

Early in the morning, inmates jugged around the courtyard, doing their morning exercise. Lewis has not been allowed contact with the others for a while now so when they saw him handcuffed wrist to ankle, they halted and plastered on the courtyard net to watch him.

It was just a normal cool with the sun still hiding behind the clouds and the fog from last night cleared up before dawn. Two police men with assault rifles held Lewis on the elbow as they escorted him to the jail van.

Words had gone round since that night, it is widely known that Lewis murdered one of the top inmates and not only would he face the consequences of the law but the inmates were seriously cheering for his death.

Some of them picked rocks and tried hurling it outside the net but it was not possible.

“Son of a mongrel”

“Cut that dickhead limpy!”

“I swear, you better don't come back to gen Pop! I will kill you myself!”
