Not waiting for Ernest to say a word, the woman who had asked Frankie pointed at him with a loud voice.

“Hey youngster, why do you force Frankie to leave this film crew? She needs money to raise her kid, and this is not the place where you can play around with your money!”

The other people agreed with her. They nodded, glancing at him in such a cringey way that Ernest had to step backwards.

Why did they look at him this way?

He was just the investor of this film project but they stared at him as if he was the bastard who had abandoned Frankie and her kid.

Another middle-aged woman pointed at him.

“Don't fool us! We only trust what we see! Frankie has worked there for years, and she is not someone who will tell a lie!”

“There is no reason for her to do so! It's you who has forced her to leave while she has an entire family to raise!”
