WHAT!!!
Their shout was like a chorus echoing throughout the whole arena. To the cadets, the words that came out of Arran's mouth were like a thunderclap, shocking them senseless. It was too absurd to believe.
Who was a Kingsman?
They were a group of people who possessed the number one bloodline in the whole Aeth race, and who would later go on to command pinnacle levels of strength and power in the universe.
For people who possessed this powerful bloodline, they would surely be known to the entire race and would have already received training from a very young age. People who have the Kingsman bloodline commanded a lot of prestige with the Aeth, this was very true considering the fact that the bloodline was difficult to pass on and that the Kingsmen were very little in population. Now a mortal who had not even trained his vital energy was here before them telling them that he possessed this top bloodline.
In one word, it was hilarious!
Suddenly, laughter filled the arena and it was like a full-blown storm that showed no signs of calming down. It went on for a long while before it gradually tapered down. What followed it instead were looks of contempt and scorn that lit up the faces of the cadets before Arran.
There was resentment showing on the faces of the cadets who did not consider Arran's words to be a funny joke and the air was charged with surging undercurrents.
Honestly, if it were not for the fact that Commander Margo had been the one to drop Arran off and that instructor Fel was by the side watching all this silently, the cadets would have already taught Arran a serious lesson on manners.
At the back, while every other person was simmering with rage, there were two girls who were watching all this with amusement. One of them was the girl from earlier whose body was oozing with seductive charm. Right now, her body was trembling slightly and she was lifting one hand to her mouth and using it to suppress the sound of her laughter from spilling out.
By her side, the girl who was accompanying her looked as though she was trying her hardest not to laugh out loud, she said to her, "Charmy, did you really have to tease him like that? You knew very well why he was chosen to study here and how everyone would react to his status since they are not as well informed."
Charmy, who was the cause of the current situation, looked up and smiled as she said, "Eris, you know how I am. I'm a sucker for handsome boys and cannot resist teasing them, especially not when there is fresh meat right before me."
"Besides, I know that you've spent some time with him. So tell me, what is he like?"
Her friend, Eris, looked at her and said, "I did not spend any time with him. I only saw him in the outpost ward for some time and I did not bother to get to know him."
"Really? I doubt it. I know you, you're more curious than I am and I cannot believe that you spent time with him without getting to know him a little. If it were me in your shoes, I would definitely have done more than just getting to know him." Charmy said before she sighed and continued.
"Sigh! How I wish I had gone with you at the time we found out about this. I'm envious of you. You can go anywhere you want without having to be restricted."
Eris, after hearing her say that chuckled lightly and said, "with the way you like to cause trouble everywhere you go, no one in their right minds would let you roam freely outside, especially not your sisters."
Charmy, at the mention of her sisters, raised her fist in the air and shook them in a mock display of rage. While gritting her teeth, she said, "those whores, just wait till I am powerful enough. I'll make sure to spank their butts till they are red. Humph! Humph!"
When she said this she nodded her head vigorously in a cute way that just seemed to add to her Charm.
Seeing her like this, Eris said to her, "that can wait until you're strong enough. At this point, you had better do something, if not someone else will have a taste of your fresh meat."
"What! Who dares?" Charmy's loud voice rang throughout the arena and it caused all those who were about to teach Arran a lesson to turn around to look at her.
It was at this moment that instructor Fel decided to step in.
"That's enough. All of you should get a hold of yourself. What Arran is saying is the truth. He is a Kingsman and from this point onwards, he will also be your comrade."
There was another uproar as instructor Fel finished speaking.
If what Arran said could be taken as a joke then that was fine with the cadets, after all, he was a mortal and an outsider. But if you were to take the fact that instructor Fel was now verifying his claim, then it could only be the truth as she had no reason to lie to them more so if it concerned a topic this serious.
Then and there, the cadets could not help but to voice their doubts and ask questions for confirmation.
"How is it possible?" someone asked.
"Yes, this is not possible. All the Kingsmen are known to everybody. if there are any new Kingsmen then the whole race would have already found out about it by now." someone else said.
"That's right. Everybody knows that the Kingsman bloodline is very difficult to pass on to the next generation so how could it be that there has been no news of one this old all this time?" somebody else agreed.
"You're right. Not to mention that this one has not even started training his vital energy and is still a mortal." Another person also said.
There was pure confusion in the minds of these elites.
They did not dare to say that instructor Fel was lying to them but they could just not wrap their heads around this situation.
The Kingsmen were very well known and the birth of one was a piece of very good news for the entire race since their numbers were just too few.
Whenever a new Kingsman was born there would be a big celebration in all the territories of the entire race so it was not possible that a Kingsman would be born out of nowhere. Even if it was possible, then why was it that this one had not even trained his vital energy and was still a mortal.
The confusion was showing clearly on their faces and they were waiting for instructor Fel to explain to them.
Arran had a frown on his face as he heard what they were saying. What did they mean that it was very difficult for the Kingsman bloodline to be passed on to the next generation? He was also confused by this.
Instructor Fel knew was aware of what the cadets wanted her to say, but she was not in the mood to explain herself to them. They would find out themselves since it was impossible to hide anything in the first place, especially since everyone who was able to study in this academy had a good background.
She only said, "I'm not obligated to explain anything to you. You'll probably find out about this when you go out, so I'll just skip the explanation. Right now, all I'll say is that Arran is one of us now and I will expect you to treat him as such. Am I making myself clear?"
"yes sir!!" everybody echoed in unison.
Understood!!This word spread through the arena like a storm as the cadets responded to instructor Fel's query. Instructor Fel nodded as she saw this, she then turned to Arran to say."That's all for today. You'll be briefed on what to expect at another time, but for today, you'll have to stand by on the side and watch how we conduct lessons here. Do you understand?"As Arran was about to respond, suddenly, there came a low and creepy sound of laughter.Arran, instructor Fel, and the rest of the other cadets turned towards the source of the sound only to see that at the very edge of their formation, there was a young man who was standing there still in the midst of laughing. He made no attempt to hold himself back.Seeing him, the faces of some of the cadets there changed as they recognized who that young man was. At the back, Charmy cursed under her breath and her playful expression from before changed. What replaced it was a deep disdain and loat
"He just has to prove himself."When Kellogg said these words, everybody had weird expressions on their faces. In their minds, they were puzzled.'How exactly do you expect a mortal to prove himself to you?'Take for instance, if it's a battle you want, then are you not ashamed to suggest fighting a mortal? In terms of power… you are stronger than he is, in terms of technique… you have received training from the best of the best, what then is there to prove… is it who is more handsome?Let's compare again, you have a more impressive background than your opponent and everybody knows this, so how do want him to prove himself?Do you say to him… 'look, my daddy owns a planet, what does yours have?'That's just absurd!Currently, thoughts like these were running through everybody's minds now and even Kellogg's lackeys did not know how to respond to this.Arran had to resist the urge to roll his eyes.
The arena was silent.Right now the situation was at an impasse, and Charmy had no way to resolve it. If she continued to rebuke Kellogg, then it would seem that she was not confident in Arran's chances of winning, but if she did not, then it would basically be sending Arran into Kellogg's trap to suffer.Actually, the situation itself was not too tricky, it was the choice of Arran's opponent that was very tricky.Omar may not be the most powerful cadet in this batch, but he had a very troublesome trait, or talent if it could be called that.Omar's presence was very weak and was almost nonexistent. If you put him in a crowd, by the time you blink he would already have vanished from your senses. He may be right by your side, but because of how weak his presence was, you would find it almost impossible to notice him.On a normal day, this trait was not a problem for other people, but in combat, this trait was a nightmare. Because of how it is difficu
The technique that Omar used in his strike was a very simple one.In principle, it was very similar to what Arran used when he sparred with Brendell in the outpost. At that time, during the final decisive moment of the fight, Arran performed a feint with his leg by reducing the amount of force used in his kick. By doing so he did not fully extend himself which left him with enough strength to pull back his attack in time and deliver the winning strike. In this sense, when Omar stabbed at the dummy, he did not immediately use his full strength but instead delivered it in short, rapid bursts which enabled him to stab three times in a single moment.A technique like this was too simple to perform by anybody who had received professional training. There was nothing about this technique that would spur the amazement of the cadets. Why were they amazed all the same? You would ask. That was because of the simple fact that Omar was even able to hide
Instructor Fel was slightly worried, but after thinking for some time, she decided not to interfere. She decided to watch how the situation would further develop. If she saw that things were going too far to be reasonable, then she would have to step in then.Omar who had been silent and expressionless all this time finally showed some emotion. Deep in his eyes there was a sharp gleam that showed his resolution to finish this with his next move.Even if he was not concerned initially when he was facing Arran's challenge, but seeing how Arran was able to overcome all the tests that he had put forward, Omar was finally resolved to do his best. After all, it would be in bad taste if he were to lose to a mortal.Omar raised his dagger and got into a proper stance. Suddenly, the air around him changed. If before Omar was casual in the way he conducted himself, then at this moment, Omar was like an unsheathed weapon of mass destruction. The deterrence effect that he e
“How is it possible!!”When everybody heard Kellogg screaming that question hysterically, they were immediately reminded of a very serious issue. That’s right, how exactly was Arran able to accurately track Omar’s movement? It had to be known that Omar’s strongest point was his very weak presence. Even among the current batch of cadets, there was no one who had greater stealth techniques than Omar. So it was safe to say that if Omar wanted his movement to stay hidden, then nobody would be able to track him, so when was it the turn of a mere mortal to do so?To be honest, even Arran himself was not sure how he was able to follow Omar’s movements. If Arran had to be honest with himself, he would have to admit that under normal circumstances, he would have had a very hard time figuring out Omar’s movements and that it would be impossible to see through that last move of Omar’s, but somehow, he was able t
Somewhere in the prime origin world, the Etherium! This was a small room that was devoid of light and which was only enveloped by darkness. Everywhere within this enclosed space, there was thick grey mist that filled the room, flowing endlessly and giving off an ancient and desolate vibe.Suddenly, from the mist came bright specks of twinkling lights, like stars that chased away the darkness. As more specks of light appeared, they filled all the available space and lit up the room, transforming it into a miniature galaxy. This galaxy contained in it small depictions of a system of stars, nebulas, and other planetary and heavenly bodies, and at the top of this galaxy of stars were seven bright and massive stars that eclipsed all other stars in this galaxy. Each star had its own color and gave off different types of energies each with its own characteristic. One was fiery like a powerful gas giant, endlessly churning with heat. Another was smooth and
Somewhere else. This was a room that was bright as compared to the other mysterious space. This room was furnished sparely with only a round table that was hollow in the middle.Around the circular table were simple chairs that circled around it. There were thirteen chairs in total and in the center of the table, there was a projection of the map of the universe which showed the territories that the Aeth was in control of.Currently, three of those chairs were occupied by councilman Homer and his other colleagues who were just in the mysterious space reporting to the leaders of the Aeth race.It was not known how long they had been sitting here but suddenly, their eyes that were shut tight opened and their consciousness left that space. As clarity returned to their eyes, the three of them took some time to think about what had been discussed previously. The female councilwoman there, as if realizing something, turned to councilman Homer and
Hello everyone, it's your favorite author here. So this is where this book will be ending for now. The story is not over for Arran and his companions. There are many more adventures to share with everybody. But I decided to end this book here because I felt that it had reached a mature point and it was time to evolve the story to something more. From the sequel book onwards, it will no longer just be a story about a boy searching for answers alone but Arran will be accompanied by other main characters from my other stories. So for those who haven't read any of my other stories, you should really give it a try. Though those stories aren’t complete yet and they haven’t gone as far as this one yet, I’ll be using this chance to complete those stories so everything can progress together. Thanks for sticking with me till the end and see you on the flip side. Until next time. Kuraii, out. 😁
The battle which would later come to be known as the Apocalyptic Battle For Earth’s Survival ended in a dour note. This battle lasted for 4 hours and many lives were lost. Of these lives that went missing in the chaos of the battle, two were especially noteworthy for their relentless efforts to resist the vile invaders that threatened the planet Earth. They went by the names Arran Galen Von Stratenoff Nero and Faith (Poltergeist) Ohimai both of whom were presumed missing but still alive. Nobody knew where they went or what corner of the universe they currently found themselves. But wherever this was, they were both surely missed and everybody prayed for their safety and eventual return. … The Etherium… inside the royal council hall. A meeting of the highest importance was currently being held. In this meeting, every council member was present. Along with them, there were seven extra seats which were located at the highest point in the entire hall. Seated upon these esteemed chairs w
Arran was sucked away into the void fissure which closed immediately after, but not before Poltergeist had managed to latch onto his thigh for whatever reason. Seeing Poltergeist clinging onto him, Arran was confused before suddenly developing the urge to retort vehemently. But he wouldn’t have that time for things were just starting to go very wrong. The space within the void fissure was just that… a literal void where nothing existed but the vast expanse of space. But the stability of this void was seriously compromised allowing for multiple fractures in space and time to open up in the surrounding void. Due to the force of the vacuum that pulled arran and Poltergeist into the void fissure, the two of them were barreling through this space uncontrollably without the ability to stabilize themselves. Arran was too weak at the moment after having all his strength drained from him while releasing the Earth’s World Will. As for Poltergeist, she was also weakened. This was because she
The awakening of the world's will of earth was not something Arran had ever expected much less that its awakening would have to do with him. It was then that Arran realized the cause of everything. In Arran’s hand, Soran lay there quietly, no longer trembling as before as if it had gone to slumber. But when Arran thought of how everything that just happened was all because of it, Arran was shocked beyond belief. Arran thought that he already understood what Soran was capable of yet only now did he know that he was yet to scratch the surface of all of Soran’s capabilities. Soran’s ability, Triumph, granted Arran the means to win. Before Arran thought it only made it so that he could meet his enemies power blow for blow regardless of the difference in the realm. But what if there was a situation where Arran was up against an opponent whose gap in the realm was impossible to cross logically? For instance, how would Soran ensure Arran’s victory if he was up against a god as a mere mort
Soran left Arran’s hand, trembling powerfully in the air and creating a buzz of vibrations that spread into the surroundings. Arran was shocked by this not expecting it at all. Just as Arran was about to reach out to Soran to grab him, he suddenly paused as a feeling overcame him. Something was calling out to arran. Even more surprised, Arran looked around swiftly but he couldn’t find anybody around him. Then he thought of something and turned back to look at Soran who continued to tremble in the air. Indeed, just as Arran thought, as he focused on Soran, that call rose in his heart once again. It was as if something was reaching out to him through Soran from a mysterious place. Arran didn’t know who this person was but he knew what they wanted… to be freed. Arran didn’t give it much thought at all — there wasn’t anything to think about. The situation right was already dire. In releasing this person, what was the worst that could happen? Inwardly, Arran tried speaking to the ent
With the eyes of the old face half open, everything took a drastic turn for the worse for Arran and his group. Everybody else had lost consciousness except for arran who retained only a bit of consciousness in this situation… and one other person. With the opening of the old man’s eyes, the defense line was broken not only on Arran’s front but also on that of the Earth. The barrier of distorted space-time surrounding Earth after its barrier shattered was also broken through. Apart from Eris and Charmy, it was this barrier that prevented the blood sea from approaching Earth. But now that it was broken nothing was stopping it anymore. The polluted blood sea was free to advance on Earth. But the Aeth and the others could also now approach the planet. Having lost consciousness, all of them were free falling into the earth at this moment. They were unable to control their descent and were hurtling toward Earth at an incredible speed. At this height, falling with such a speed was enou
Kasack vanished from the battlefield, scooped away into the safety of the dark star planet causing Arran to miss his chance at finally ending this threat once and for all. Arran was frustrated not knowing when he might ever have another chance like this again. But he didn’t wallow in his frustration for long. In no time arran calmed down and analyzed the situation. While it was a pity that he couldn’t kill Kasack, arran realized the urgency of the situation. Whatever Kasack did before his disappearance, it was bad… very bad. Looking at the visage on the surface of the dark star planet, Arran’s mind was met with a deluge of corrupting thoughts that tried to erode his mind. Even his resistance granted by his reality gate against mental pollution was not able to stop this corruption forcing arran to turn away from the planet. Yet even then, a chilling and slimy feeling lingered in Arran’s mind as his consciousness was continually under attack. Only with the combination of the World E
In his madness, Kasack did something drastic. He completely unleashed the power of the old one sealed within the dark star planet. Lying within the core of the dark star planet was the old ones' power. This power was meant to be given to his chosen champion as a means to fight the Aeth civilization. It was the strongest legacy left behind by the old one which could not be inherited directly. This power was only meant to be used at the critical time of the conflict with the Aeth civilization. It was Kasack’s greatest trump card one that he was reluctant to ever use. Yet at this moment, In the face of death, Kasack unleashed this power knowing full well the repercussions of his action. Moan! Following Kasack’s mad ravings, a loud wailing moan echoed throughout the surroundings sounding like an old machine shutting down or large gears slowly going still. In the chaos of the battlefield, this sound was so conspicuous that it forced everyone to notice it. Gradually, the fighting stopp
Kasack was sent flying after being hit by Arran. His chest was sunken and bloodied from the barrage of staff thrusts delivered to him and a mouth full of blood burst from Kasack’s mouth. Kasack was severely damaged, his injuries extremely grevious. But the most severe blow done to Kasack was the blow to his mind and ego. Despite everything, despite all the preparations and plans he had made, Kasack still hadn’t succeeded in killing Arran, yet it was he who was left battered and on the brink of death once again. This thought, Kasack could not bear it. His previous shame which he had hidden beneath a well of anger and rage resurfaced once more, bursting onto the surface like an erupting volcano. Aaaahhhhhh! Kasack didn’t know who was screaming so desperately. In his daze, he heard a voice filled with fury and indignation. His mind was foggy from the impact of Arran’s blows and the bruise on his pride and ego. When the fog finally cleared a little, that is when Kasack realized that
