The game that Fizz took Arran to see was one he was relatively familiar with.

As Fizz explained the rules Arran realized that it was one of those games where one would guess on the probability of the dice turning up high or low. Except for the props being different, it was basically the same thing.

The dice that was being used was unlike the square six-sided dice Arran was more familiar with.

This dice was a kind of hexadecagon... a sixteen-sided polygon... but unlike a typical hexadecagon this one bore a very similar resemblance to a tesseract shown in mathematical models back on earth.

Generally, a tesseract is the four-dimensional rendering of a cube and if seen up close it would look like there was a cube inside of another cube.

Well in the case of these dice when seen from up close it would look like there was another hexadecagon inside of a hexadecagon.

Each of the sides of the tesseract had a number both on the inside and the outside
