In the eyes of Winston, Jerry, and Paul, Arran was prey. One that had big fat and juicy meat that would be enough for each of them even if they shared him equally between themselves.
Their gazes burned and the three of them got ready to attack Arran at any moment.
Arran was already surrounded and there was nowhere for him to go so he couldn't escape even if he wanted to... not that he was intending on doing so in the first place. This situation was just right for him since he was already prepared to rob them of their own token in the first place. Them taking the initiative to rob him of his made it easier for Arran and it also helped that he would not have any guilt on his conscience for defending himself as a bonus.
Still, there was something about this situation that unnerved Arran and made him uncomfortable.
Seeing three grown men surrounding another man like this in a dark tunnel, for some reason Arran pictured the scene of a bunch of hoodlums harassi
The battle had started and things had developed rapidly. Before anybody knew it a few moves were exchanged. Winston attacked Arran with his spear which Arran parried and was about to counterattack but unexpectedly, because of the excess amount of power behind the spear attack, Arran was not able to fully withstand the attack and he had to retreat which ended with him being sent flying into the air. This was followed up with another attack with Arran, one that did not give Arran any space to dodge especially since he was up in the air without any means to leverage on and avoid the attack. The only thing that Arran could do was put up a hasty defense by crossing his sword before him and hope that he was strong enough to withstand this blow... but that seemed unlikely. From the waves of pressure that Arran was receiving from this technique, Arran knew that he was not going to be able to block this attack. Should he forcefully try to withstand it with his current st
Why indeed did this happen?Naturally, everybody wanted to know the answer to this question. To be honest, nobody expected the outcome of this battle to turn out like this. Right from the very beginning, with the first attack that Winston had launched, it could be said that he and his teammates had possessed the initiative in this battle. Everything was heading their way and a sequence of follow-up attacks had been prepared to react in accordance with the progress of the battle.Winston, Paul, and Jerry were quite strong and it was because of their strength that they understood the level one had to be if they wanted to qualify to participate in this ceremony. Naturally, they wouldn't underestimate anybody that was participating in this ceremony with them since each and every participant would definitely possess sufficient strength to be here. This was why from the get-go, Winston and his teammates had used their most formidable combination attack to deal
Back to Arran.I said previously that Paul and Jerry had lost all hope for victory. This is why.As it stood, Paul and Jerry were hesitating because they were not confident that they could defeat Arran at all. This stemmed from the fact that they did not know him nor did they understand the kind of person he was or what tactics he would utilize in a fight.Previously, the two of them had already come to a conclusion about the kind of way Arran fought and were pretty confident about winning but after further deliberation, they were not so confident anymore. This hesitation was brought about by the ever-changing presence of Arran in their minds from how they perceived him to be in their minds from the very beginning and how Arran currently was right now. The first was of a frivolous but scheming person who hid his blades in his words and the present was of a noble and confident Kingsman that disdained underhanded tactics the most.As for exactly the
While Arran engaged in a battle of both brains and brawn with Paul and Jerry, unbeknownst to them, their performance was being put on display for all to see.As one of the people who generated a lot of interest in the audience, all of Arran's actions were closely observed so when Arran had finally clashed with Winston and his team, the people in the audience were very excited to see some action.During the time when Arran had been dissing Winston, it was like the prelude to an epic battle and everyone in the audience was at the edge of their seats anticipating the start of the battle. As expected, Arran did not disappoint. With Winston losing his temper, what followed was an action pack clash between Winston, Paul, and Jerry on one side ganging up on the lone Arran on the other side with back and forth strikes as well as intense close shaves and thrilling reversals all in the span of a short two minutes. These two minutes fed the desire of the audi
Aku The Demon. This title was synonymous with a ferocious war demon that fed on the blood and fears of its enemies on the battlefield. The story of Aku The Demon as he grew from a hapless youth with nothing to his name but the clothes on his back to become a mighty general of the battlefield was one that sent waves of hope and vigor through the veins of those of similar background as him as well as envy to those who Aku The Demon had left behind in his wake on his quest for power and strength.Compared to Bryon who generated reverence and envy due to his powerful backing and considerable strength, what Aku The Demon inspired in others was not only envy and jealousy but also awe and respect generated from their fear and dread of him. All this was because of the legends that were told about the rise of Aku The Demon. When Aku The Demon had been young, he had lost his family in a small-scale invasion by the Shades as they attacked the borders of the Aeth ter
While Eris and Charmy were whispering to themselves.Meanwhile, Bryon and Aku The Demon were still having a stand-off.Aku The Demon, looked at Bryon with deep eyes like a black hole sucking away every light and matter.Byron's words had served their purpose having successfully aroused the displeasure of the crowd. Looking at the faces of those gathered here, it was clear to see that although well hidden, they were not too happy with Aku.Still, it was not like Aku The Demon had ever cared for how people felt about him.Aku was a simple person with a one-track mindset who never sought people's attention or approval. He only did the things that he wanted and said whatever he wanted to say. just like now.Despite the displeasure of the crowd, Aku The Demon was not one bit concerned with them and he instead said to Bryon."You still have a very witty mouth but sadly I can't be bothered to play with you this time. I am only going to say t
Was Arran considered strong among his peers of the same generation? The answer is yes...Arran could be considered strong among his peers of the same generation solely by virtue of the fact that he could participate in this ceremony. Then let us ask, among those participating in this ceremony, how does Arran's strength compare to the rest of them?Well, then that is exactly what these people were trying to figure out.Because the generation of Aku The Demon, Bryon, and the others gathered here was only a generation apart from Arran's generation, these people are all trying to figure out how strong and talented the geniuses of this generation are because some of the most talented people of a particular generation usually had what it takes to compete with geniuses of the previous generation. We are not talking about being able to catch up with those ordinary geniuses of the previous generation because given time any half-decent genius would be
Let us backtrack a little, right before Arran defeated Paul and Jerry.During the time that Bryon and Aku The Demon as well as the others of their own generation were in conflict with each other, the battle between Arran and Paul and Jerry had not stopped for even a second. At this time Arran was still using psychological warfare against Paul and Jerry and he had just finished explaining to them how he had incited Winston to lose his cool before the battle which ultimately led to his defeat. Why was Arran taking the time to explain all this to his opponents?Well, this was part of the plan.By explaining his previous actions to Paul and Jerry, Arran hoped to reduce their vigilance of him or at the very least shift their focus onto another thing. In this way by the time Arran finally unleashed his finishing move, Paul and Jerry would not be able to react in time.Indeed, just as Arran had planned. After hearing exactly how Arran had ac
