The green-skinned mandrakes were a familiar opponent to Arran. They were a species of wild beasts with basic intelligence that grew in the wilds of Etherium.

Most of the time, these beasts lived simple lives like every other beast, save for the limited use of simple tools that made for a primitive-level civilization. But at certain times, they would transform into a bunch of genocidal savages that wrought death and destruction wherever they went.

This time was during the annual mating season when new offspring were conceived and later born.

As a tradition and requirement for the birth of new offspring, female green-skinned mandrakes required a lot of fresh flesh and blood to provide energy to mate and nurture children. This led to the entire species hunting down any flesh and blood creature to satisfy their needs.

This behavior is common in all mandrake races which were very common in the universe and not only the green-skinned subspecies. Because of their habit, the mandrake race is

Arran’s speed was incredibly fast. He whizzed through the air almost like a comet in the sky before landing solidly in a forested patch of land a fair distance away from his previous location. The trees in the forest were huge and densely gathered together. Arran had to slow down to prevent being ambushed by any enemies lurking in the dense foliage.Inside the forest, Arran’s speed was still unhindered and, as he progressed forward, he didn’t encounter any obstacles.Shortly after, Arran reached his destination, but before arriving, he already knew what to expect.Deep in the forest, Arran reached a cluster of trees that were burning fiercely. The ground was scorched me baked until it became hard and the trees had turned into a blackened mass of charcoal. There was not much smoke in the air because something like a vacuum funneled all the smoke and drove it to the center of the burning forest. On the ground, charred bodies of green-scaled mandrakes and ugly furred gremlins littered th

“What the hell do you want, Galen?” Kellogg barked at Arran angrily.“Are you sure that’s the way to be talking to me?” Arran responded in kind, his tone dismissive.“Spit it out or get the hell out of my way. I don’t have time to deal with you now.” Kellogg said.Humph!“I doubt you would have the brains to even comprehend anything I say, so I’d rather not waste my breath. But I’ve still got to say this...”“Should you really be using your powers so recklessly like this?” Arran asked.“Look what you did to the forest! Everything is burnt up and is a hollow of its previous self. How do you think this will reflect on your evaluation?”As Arran spoke, he threw a condescending look at Kellogg while gesturing to the burnt-up trees in the forest.Still, Kellogg responded fiercely to Arran’s words.“Are you telling me how to do things, hmm Galen?”“I don’t see how it’s any of your business which way I decide to carry out my assignment. Besides, there’s nothing for me to worry about concerni

Bang!A gavel slammed down on the hardwood top, causing a loud sound to echo around the hall. There was a long arch-shaped podium that stood at the end of the hall, in which thirteen seats were arranged along its length. These seats were filled with different people who bore placid expressions on their faces. At the center of the arrangement, an elderly man raised the gavel in his hand and began addressing the rest of the people beside him.“Attention everybody. From this moment, the royal council will begin the emergency meeting. Let us proceed.”As soon as councilman Floyd finished speaking, a hum of voices buzzed at the same time as the other council members' voices with different concerns. For a moment, the meeting room was abuzz with disturbance until councilman Floyd finally slammed the gavel once more to calm the hall.“Everyone, please let us be civil,” councilman Floyd said.“If you have any concerns, you can bring them up one at a time.”As soon as Councilman Floyd finished

  • Kingsman Return   The Old One

“This Dark Star, had he made any moves yet?” Councilman Floyd asked.“Yes, he had,” councilman Nigel answered.“Shade lord Dark Star has made two moves to be exact. One is that he challenged another shade lord to a fight and won, with the second being he called for other shades to rally under him under the premise that he is going to overthrow us.”“Heh, typical,” councilman Bruce said.“That is what every new shade lord does as soon as he is promoted. Challenge the old to build prestige and make empty promises to take revenge by overthrowing our civilization.”“None of them ever change. If it was so easy for us to be destroyed, we would have been extinct thousands of years ago.”“I agree. As surprising as a new shade lord being promoted is, it is not cause for us to be concerned or take him seriously at all. We can just treat him as we do the other shade lords that have appeared over the long course of our history.”“Just like them, he is bound to cause waves. What do you all think?”

  • Kingsman Return   Primordial Being... The Old One

In the universe, there were a group of creatures known as primordial beings. They were the first ones to gain sentience. These creatures were born from the excess amount of energy that existed following the creation of the universe.By bathing in this energy constantly, the primordial beings gained sentience. Because of this, they were incredibly powerful.Every primordial being was born with a limited power of creation that allowed them to manipulate the energy that formed them to create other living beings themselves. This is the origin of some races in the universe who, through the power of creation mastered by some primordial beings, came into existence.Of course, not all races and living beings were created in this manner. Most sentient living beings in the universe were a product of a constant evolution that developed from a connate ancestry to its present form after countless optimization of the race and species.Primordial beings only referred to connate life forms that gaine

It has only been five years since the royal council learned of the old one. But now they were hearing about him for the second time. The council members naturally knew what this meant...“It seems like the old one is making a comeback, just like her highness Azalea and Jeremiah predicted. Things are getting really troublesome right now.” Councilman Floyd said. The other council members agreed with him. They too knew what councilman Floyd was referring to.In the process of following the trail of breadcrumbs left by Arran’s parents, the royal council previously learned a lot of things regarding the incident four hundred years ago. One of these naturally included what Arran’s parents knew about the old one, and it was the most important discovery the council had made.Another discovery they made was a prediction from Arran’s parents that said the old one was still not defeated and he would return to seek revenge on the Aeth for foiling his plans over and over again. When the council mem

Soran’s ability, Triumph, granted Arran the means to win. Before Arran thought it only made it so that he could meet his enemies power blow for blow regardless of the difference in the realm. But what if there was a situation where Arran was up against an opponent whose gap in the realm was impossible to cross logically? For instance, how would Soran ensure Arran’s victory if he was up against a god as a mere mort
