With visibility being low, and there being panic due to the sudden attack of the undead skeletons, there was bound to be chaos.
With the undead skeletons attacking the participants in large hordes, the participants retaliated indiscriminately, meaning that they did not care who or what they hit with their attacks. So far as anything so much as got within attacking distance of them, they would attack. Because of this, not only did the participants shave to watch out for the attacks of the undead skeletons, but they also had to make sure that they were not hit by the indiscriminate attacks of the other participants.
Still, that was not where the main problem lay.
