“Hmmm! What is it, Veil?” Arran quickly responded mentally.

“About that bad guy, I felt something off when it hit him with my ability,” Veil said.

She continued, “That bad guy, I don’t think it had a soul.”

As soon as Arran heard Veil’s words, he was immediately shocked.

No living being in this world could exist without a soul. It was an ironclad rule of life. Even the undead possessed souls, being pure creatures made out of souls that have crossed the threshold of life and been baptized by death. So how could a living creature not have a soul?
