Second War (2)

Amidst the vast plain filled with dust and the cries of war, Jin Tae Kyung stood with a blazing spirit. He was the only soldier trusted to be within the Idun Goddess Legion. His task was simple: to protect their territory, with fiery courage flowing through their veins.

Tae Kyung, a young and spirited warrior, looked around with an awe-inspired gaze. A thought emerged in his mind.

"So, can I consider this legion as a spirited one?" he murmured to himself.

Recalling the athletic clubs he had seen in manga and movies, Tae Kyung felt the familiar atmosphere of Valhalla's spirit he had witnessed in the past two days. He saw how courage and enthusiasm intertwined, forming extraordinary strength.

A crow flew overhead Tae Kyung, bringing him back to a conversation with his old friend, Bjorn, an experienced soldier.

"Does the blessing of the Idun Legion relate to life?" Bjorn tried to ask, seeking a deeper understanding of the blessings held by other legions.

Tae Kyung raised an eyebrow and looked at Bjorn, his only friend since being transferred to Valhalla, with a sharp gaze.

"Yes, it is said that the blessing of the Idun Legion grants a life that is difficult to extinguish," he confidently replied.

Tae Kyung furrowed his brow. "I haven't experienced it firsthand," Tae Kyung said hesitantly.

But Bjorn's eyes sparkled with passion upon hearing Tae Kyung's doubt. He nodded enthusiastically.

"Oh, that's an incredibly cool blessing!" he exclaimed.

Tae Kyung felt a slight sense of relief upon hearing Bjorn's admiring words. He realized that he had already received that blessing, and a feeling of contentment washed over him.

Tae Kyung continued his question, "What about the Tir Legion? What blessing do they bestow?"

Bjorn smiled and looked at the warriors still fighting in the distance.

"The Tir Legion grants bravery to soldiers who know no fear and possess strong mental fortitude," Bjorn proudly explained.

Tae Kyung observed those brave warriors and was captivated by their spirit. He grew more curious about the other legions.

"Bjorn, can you tell me about the other legions?" Tae Kyung asked eagerly.

Bjorn laughed and nodded in understanding. "You're truly curious," he said.

Jin Tae Kyung took a deep breath, his sharp eyes scanning the warriors standing before him.

"Mighty and valiant is the Odin Legion with their proficiency in wielding runic magic, impervious to various types of spells. The Thor Legion wields thunder that rumbles, while the Heimdall Legion possesses far-reaching sight and hearing."

Each legion possessed enticing advantages, but the lightning that shot from the hands of the Thor Legion soldiers yesterday left an unforgettable impression. It seemed as if the lightning had permeated their very beings. Did the lightning truly encompass them entirely?

Jin Tae Kyung awaited Bjorn to continue his explanation, his eyes brimming with curiosity. However, Bjorn merely smiled and shook his head.

"It would take too long to reveal it all at once. Slowly, you will discover the answers as you stand on the same battlefield, although you may not desire it."

The words weren't incorrect. Jin Tae Kyung did not immediately require that information, so he decided to ask something else.

"Bjorn, will we fight together like we did yesterday?"

Although they were gathered in one legion, it did not mean there were binding orders.

"Is aerial combat like what happened yesterday a common occurrence here?"

Fortunately, Bjorn shook his head.

"No, actually, they depart for the battlefield based on their respective legions. That way, the services of each legion can be more easily distinguished, and they can unite more effectively. However, is there a legion with a small number of members like yours? That's because they can't rely solely on the strength of the legion."

"It seems that the alliance is formed by small legions with few members," Jin Tae Kyung said.

"That's right. You really caught on," Bjorn replied, laughing with great joy as if he was pleased with Jin Tae Kyung's response. Then, Bjorn continued his explanation.

"Compared to yesterday, today we will have a commander. Usually, the commander is filled by low-ranking soldiers or the lowest-ranked soldiers who have a lot of combat experience."

"Yesterday's battle seems truly exceptional," Jin Tae Kyung thought.

"But it doesn't mean they fought for several days," he continued in his mind.

If they continued to fight without a commander, Asgard's fate in this Ragnarok would surely end in a devastating defeat.

"Soldiers! Gather!" Reginleif shouted, her familiar voice filling the entire room. Of course, it was Reginleif.

"Our Valkyries have arrived. Let's meet on the battlefield," Bjorn added, friendly patting Jin Tae Kyung's shoulder before leaving quickly. From the way he spoke, it seemed that Reginleif was part of the Tir legion.

"But where should I go?" Jin Tae Kyung wondered.

The soldiers who were previously cheering and witnessing the action started moving according to the command to gather.

Jin Tae Kyung looked around and noticed the engraved flags on the walls. The flags were clearly displayed before them, shining with beautiful symbols.

Among those flags, Jin Tae Kyung saw one flag with a captivating symbol. It was the flag of the Idun legion, adorned with a golden apple emblem. While the other legions had several neatly arranged flags, the Idun legion only had one flag, but its presence was far more striking and eye-catching.

Walking through the ranks of soldiers moving gracefully, Jin Tae Kyung admired them standing tall beneath the banners of pride. It was unimaginable for his to see how these soldiers seemed indifferent to orders, yet faithfully carried them out.

Jin Tae Kyung stood alone before the Idun flag, and the enthusiastic gazes of the soldiers were directed towards him. The beauty of their faces truly captivated him.

"They are so amazing, aren't they?"

Perhaps it was because today Tae Kyung was wearing a proper suit of armor, unlike yesterday when he was still in her professional gaming uniform.

"But I am a true warrior."

Jin Tae Kyung stared straight ahead after readjusting her expression. If he dwelled too much on those gazes, he would only become more confused. He was practicing the wisdom he had gained from her long professional experience when suddenly she felt the soldiers' gazes shift elsewhere. Unconsciously, he turned his face and looked at a mighty warrior standing in front of him.

"I am Ragnar, from the Heimdal legion. I will lead you in this battle."

With determination, Ragnar put on his helmet, and behind him hung a round shield.

If Jin Tae Kyung counted herself along with the soldiers around his, their numbers amounted to more than a hundred. And just like in other legions, there seemed to be dozens of commanders like Ragnar.

Ragnar looked at all of them with a serious gaze, then explained in a low voice.

"The goal of this battle is to reclaim our territory from the gnolls. We will be at the forefront."

He didn't go into detail about what gnolls were, but it seemed the other soldiers understood.

"Are those the gnolls that I know?"

Dog-headed monsters that often appeared in games. Now Jin Tae Kyung realized that the creature he had fought against yesterday also had a dog-like head.

In the midst of a chaotic battlefield, Ragnar, a courageous and trusted warrior, led his troops with fiery determination. Today was like any other day, where the enemy's attacks seemed endless. Yet, Ragnar stood unwavering at the forefront, setting an example for his fellow warriors.

With a resolute gaze, Ragnar looked upon his weary soldiers and spoke,

"Here I stand, at the very front line. We shall face the enemy with unwavering bravery and the strength we possess." His confident smile ignited a spark of spirit in the hearts of those who listened.

Suddenly, a flute and horn resounded through the sky, accompanied by a gentle whispering wind and the enchanting melodies of Valkyries' songs. A large, purple door emerged behind Ragnar, disturbing the prevailing silence. Without hesitation, Ragnar raised his mighty axe and rallied the warriors to prepare for the attack.

"Oh, warriors! Ready yourselves! The enemy lies before us, but together we shall stand firm!" exclaimed Ragnar with a resounding voice. A blazing passion ignited in the eyes of the soldiers, and Jin Tae Kyung, one of the young warriors, felt the same youthful fire burning within his own soul.

With fervor, Jin Tae Kyung tightly gripped his sword, recalling the words of Heda, a Valkyrie who served as his mentor.

"Live on, Jin Tae Kyung! Despite the hardships of this battlefield, you must remain alive and fight!" Heda's words echoed like a melodious tune in his ears, inspiring him to persevere.

In this moment, thoughts of death no longer occupied Jin Tae Kyung's mind. He had tasted death once, but now he lived and breathed. The desire to survive consumed his thoughts, and with unwavering resolve, he joined the other warriors who filled the battlefield with a fighting spirit.

"For Asgard and the nine realms!" the warriors shouted in unison, reaffirming their warrior spirits. With that determination, they ran towards the mysterious purple door, led by Ragnar's unwavering confidence. Fearless, Tae Kyung ran with steady steps, clutching his sword tightly.

Onward they ran, facing the impending battle, crossing through the enigmatic purple door that led them into a world filled with danger and challenges. Amidst the chaos of warfare, Ragnar and Tae Kyung remained symbols of bravery.

Jin Tae Kyung passed through the door into the battlefield spread with destruction. The piercing wind filled his lungs, and the panoramic plain, blanketed in white, mixed with swirling black smoke and ash. He felt the déjà vu of repeated battles, where devastation and despair surged vividly.

Amidst the thunderous battle, Jin Tae Kyung found himself close to Ragnar, a leader he wholeheartedly trusted. Ragnar gave the order to charge at the enemy, and his firmness and courage at the frontlines boosted Jin Tae Kyung's spirits. But that fiery enthusiasm only burned momentarily.

Suddenly, the battlefield shook with an earth-shattering roar. A gigantic, white-headed, dog-like monster emerged before them. The monster was far larger than anything they had ever faced. In an instant, it approached and attacked with its swiftly flickering sword.

Ragnar suddenly vanished from Jin Tae Kyung's sight. Jin Tae Kyung had no idea what had happened to Ragnar—whether he was severely injured or thrown far away by the monster's attack. All that was certain was that the monster had reached the ranks of warriors and shattered them with its deadly sword. Jin Tae Kyung realized how unexpectedly fragile Ragnar, the formidable commander, appeared.

Without a chance to mourn, Jin Tae Kyung quickly realized the imminent threat surrounding him. He sensed the presence of his comrades being torn apart in the struggle around him. In this tense situation, Jin Tae Kyung found himself trapped in the piercing gaze of the monster, and the monster swiftly launched a lethal attack towards him.

Jin Tae Kyung moved like lightning to evade the strike, his sword wielded with the skill honed over years. He fought fiercely against the monster, launching counterattacks with extraordinary ability. However, no matter how much strength Jin Tae Kyung exerted, the monster remained tough and powerful.

At the same time, amidst the chaos of the battle, Jin Tae Kyung felt a blazing spirit within him. He remembered the messages and teachings of Ragnar that had fueled him all this time. Amidst despair, Jin Tae Kyung gathered all his courage and confronted the monster with unwavering resolve.
