Second War

Jin Tae Kyung felt tense as Heda approached him with a blazing sword. Gently, Heda pinched Jin Tae Kyung's chest and said,

"Remember. Myth is a story that belongs only to you. It is the record of your life and the legend that will unfold from now on. There is no one else who can harness the power of the Myth and develop it as well as you."

The story of professional player Jin Tae Kyung.

The legend of the dragon knight.

Jin Tae Kyung could feel his heartbeat quickening. He felt the power of his Myth growing stronger.

Right at that moment.

The bell tower in the middle of the small island reverberated. Its toll shook their hearts rapidly and loudly.

Both of them instinctively turned to look at the bell tower. They exchanged glances, and Heda furrowed her brow, saying,

"You have some idea of what it means, don't you?"

"That's the signal to go into battle," Jin Tae Kyung replied.

Heda nodded, taking out several items from a large box she seemed to have been carrying since earlier.

"Take these. They are your equipment."

Jin Tae Kyung looked at the very simple helmet and leather armor given to him. There was a round shield with the Idun symbol engraved on it, and a gleaming sword in his hand.

A very simple helmet and a leather suit of armor. A round shield carved with the symbol of Idun and a sword.

They weren't legendary equipment or anything of the sort, but they were clearly better than what he had gotten the day before.

Heda handed the leather armor to Jin Tae Kyung and quickly left the classroom.

"You can see the purple door over there, right? If you pass through it, you'll reach the waiting station. You'll gather there and head to the battlefield together."

Jin Tae Kyung took a deep breath as he gazed at the large purple door beneath the bell tower. The door seemed to flow like a stream of water, creating an illusion of a portal similar to the one he had encountered in a game.

But the memories of yesterday's intense battle were still vividly etched in Jin Tae Kyung's mind. Although he couldn't deny the worry that something similar could happen again, he felt that there was no other path for him but to move forward. It was something he instinctively realized, a calling that echoed within his heart.

"Jin Tae Kyung," Heda exclaimed, pulling Jin Tae Kyung's arm, forcing him to turn and enter the mysterious purple door.

"We can't retreat now. The fight awaits on the other side."

Furrowing his brow, Jin Tae Kyung felt a sense of confusion but continued to trust Heda's reliable instincts.

"What's in there?" he asked hesitantly.

Heda looked at Jin Tae Kyung with a sharp gaze. "That's the place that will lead us to our greatest mission. The place that will change the fate of our world. We are the last hope," she replied with conviction.

With a mix of curiosity and bravery, Jin Tae Kyung nodded firmly. "Alright, let's do it together."

"Don't die," Heda said seriously.

Though her words were simple, their meaning ran deep. There was no joking in them. So, Jin Tae Kyung forced a smile and replied.

"You said we won't die so easily."

Heda nodded and smiled awkwardly, trying to fix his expression. Then, he stood in front of the purple door together with Jin Tae Kyung.

"Are you going too?" Jin Tae Kyung asked.

"I'll be heading to a different battlefield than yours. The order came like this," Heda replied as he took out a necklace hidden beneath his clothes. The purple gem hanging at the end of the necklace dimly glowed.

Jin Tae Kyung took a deep breath as he stepped through the door. He felt tense in the presence of thousands of soldiers filling the place. Though only roughly estimated, their numbers seemed to reach thousands.

However, even though Jin Tae Kyung and Heda entered through the same door, they were apparently in different locations.

"What should I do now?" Jin Tae Kyung wondered, searching for guidance.

But he didn't see anyone who could show him the way. As he continued searching, he realized that the soldiers seemed to gather with their respective legions. Each legion was marked with symbols carved on the soldiers and their shields.

"And I'm the only one for Idun," Jin Tae Kyung thought to himself.

Should he just stand here without direction?

Suddenly, Jin Tae Kyung spotted someone familiar. A pleasant voice sounded behind him, prompting him to turn around.

"Bjorn!"

A broad smile adorned Jin Tae Kyung's face as he warmly welcomed Bjorn.

"It feels awkward to be alone. So, how about your legion?" Bjorn asked, his eyes filled with anticipation.

Jin Tae Kyung shrugged and replied, "Not so bad."

He wasn't lying. As Heda had said, because there was no one above or below him, it felt quite comfortable.

"Oh? Is that so? It seems because the Valkyrie in charge of you is quite beautiful. Well, actually, all Valkyries are beautiful. And their bodies are charming too."

Bjorn laughed cheerfully, his voice ringing loud amidst the soldiers around them, who began showing interest.

"You're saying she's the most beautiful Valkyrie in which legion?" Jin Tae Kyung asked.

Bjorn chuckled. "Whoever it may be, the Valkyries in our legion are the most beautiful," she confidently replied.

Jin Tae Kyung shook her head. "Nonsense. I'm sure the Valkyrie in our legion is the most beautiful. She even said she would expect something from me in this battle."

Heda looked at Jin Tae Kyung with a cynical gaze. "How amusing. She said the same thing to me. Why don't you clean your ears?"

The brief conversation created a tense atmosphere among the soldiers. They stared at each other sharply, ready to fight.

"Come at me!" one of them shouted.

"Ohh, it's a brawl!" another exclaimed.

"I bet on the blonde one!" yelled another.

And without hesitation, the fight began. The other soldiers cheered and enthusiastically watched.

"Hoho, what a warm sight," Bjorn said, nodding his head and crossing his arms. It seemed like he was truly enjoying this fight.

However, Jin Tae Kyung couldn't help but think, 'Um, isn't Ragnarok happening right now?' They were in a great war that would determine the fate of planets.

But if she paid close attention, this place had been like this since yesterday. As Jin Tae Kyung watched the fight with a somewhat resigned face, Bjorn spoke.

"Well, I'm glad it's not too bad. But should I say this is a cultural thing every legion has? You know, there are many things like that. We don't have much information about the Idun Legion because they have fewer soldiers."

Jin Tae Kyung looked at Bjorn's face, realizing that he wanted to know where they were. However, Jin Tae Kyung didn't have many words to say. Because culture is created when many people come together. And since Jin Tae Kyung was the only one here, there were no cultural standards.

Bjorn nodded in understanding. "That's understandable. What about you?" Bjorn asked, although there might be a big difference in what Jin Tae Kyung and Bjorn referred to as normal.

Though there was no definite answer, Bjorn smiled upon hearing it and responded.
