The Mine

As Alvtr inquired, Isaac furrowed his brow seriously before answering, "The incident happened yesterday just before dawn. We were getting ready for breakfast and sleep as usual. However, something dreadful occurred. Our food was contaminated with poison."

"Don't the dwarves have the ability to detect poison?" one of the soldiers asked, almost speaking to himself. Isaac's pointed ears trembled upon hearing the question.

"Our sense of smell and taste is indeed sensitive. But it doesn't mean we can distinguish weak poison. And actually, the poison wasn't too strong. It only made it difficult for you to move, without posing any danger to your life."

Dwarves, with bodies much stronger than humans, do have resistance to toxins. They can even chew on poisonous mushrooms while laughing.

"But the situation made the poison deadly."
