MAKING THEM PAY

'He's lying to me, but why?' Andrew thought in his mind as he looked at the doctor.

Andrew held back his emotions, and he stepped out of the doctor's office without saying a word.

Andrew walked into the room where the hospital had kept his mother, and he sat by her side.

There was nothing he could do if the doctor refused to treat his mother.

He could only wait until the surgeon was free.

Then a thought came to him.

If the system could instantly give him a sum of one billion dollars, then, maybe it could help with his mother's surgery.

"System, I need a surgeon for my mother's surgery," Andrew said with hope in his eyes.

[Searching for top surgeons.]

[Surgeons located.]

[What do you need a surgeon to do?]

Andrew's eyes widened in delight at hearing the reply of the monotone voice.

The system was the answer to his problems.

"My mom needs a heart and kidney transplant." Andrew said in an instant.

He would show that doctor that he wasn't to be messed with.

[Narrowing search to surgeons specializing in heart and kidney transplants.]

[Search complete.]

[Two proficient surgeons located.]

[A Cardiac surgeon named Trevor Kane.]

[A kidney transplant surgeon named Justin Burner.]

Andrew's smile widened when he read the text on the system panel.

"I want them to come here and treat my mother. Use anything it takes." Andrew muttered with a hard edge in his voice.

[Payment successfully made.]

[Contacting surgeons.]

[Twenty million dollars deducted.]

Andrew heaved a sigh of relief as he looked at his mom.

Thirty minutes later, the whirring sound of a helicopter resonated through the hospital building.

The doctor rushed out of the hospital to see two helicopters at the entrance of the building.

Two surgical teams accompanied two surgeons as they entered the hospital, ignoring the doctor, who stood gaping.

"That's Justin Burner and Trevor Kane in my hospital. What are they doing here?" The doctor rushed to stand in front of the two men.

Dr. Justin looked down at him and noted that the man was not worth his precious time.

"We got a message and an alert to attend to the mother of a certain Andrew Raine. We have everything we need. Take us to the patient, please." Dr. Trevor said, looking around the hospital.

He couldn't help but wonder why a rich man would bring his mother to such a rundown place.

"Eh? Mr. Raine? You came here for him?" The doctor said in a shocked tone.

"You are wasting our time." Dr. Justin said before glaring at the man.

"I'm sorry. My name is Dr. Gray. I think you are at the wrong hospital." The doctor rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

He didn't care how Mr. Raine had gotten such expert professionals to come to his hospital and fulfill his duty to Mr. James Winter.

The money James had given him was too mouthwatering to be pushed aside.

Dr. Justin raised a brow in surprise before looking at his phone.

"Here is the address we followed. Do you know hindering doctors from working on a patient could lead to the revoking of your license?" Dr. Justin's low voice held a threatening tone when he spoke.

Gray went pale and instantly gave way to the doctors.

He instructed the nurses to assist them, but both doctors refused and took in their own surgical team.

Andrew stepped out of the room when he saw the two doctors. They looked just like the picture profiles that the system had shown him.

He felt calm because he knew that his mother was in expert hands.

Now was the time to deal with that doctor.

Andrew walked to the doctor's office and was about to enter when he heard voices from the room.

"I'm sorry, Mr. James. I tried stopping them from entering, but I don't know what Andrew did to call in two renowned surgeons." Gray paced around in his office as he spoke.

If he failed to satisfy this man, he would be obligated to return the money he received.

Andrew instantly understood where the problems were stemming from.

It was about time he visited the Winters family.

Andrew called his taxi driver, and he went on a shopping spree.

He was now a different man, so he needed to look unique.

The first thing he needed to do was get a phone.

"I want you to give me the latest phone in this store," Andrew told the sales boy as soon as he stepped into the shop.

"I'm sorry. You would pay before I bring it out." The sales boy lied through his teeth.

He wanted to chase Andrew away by using an exorbitant price.

However, something strange had happened.

A few minutes after the sales boy gave Andrew the company's account, a fat man rushed out from the back of the store as he held his phone.

"Where's the millionaire? Answer me!" The fat man shook the salesman recklessly.

"I'd like to take my phone now," Andrew said. He was already growing impatient.

"You sent me two million dollars?" The manager asked with wide eyes, refusing to believe what he was seeing, and he wasn't the only one with such an expression.

The sales boy couldn't believe his ears. There was no way this ugly man could afford such an amount.

Without wasting time, Andrew showed them the receipt, and the manager and the sales boy almost vomited blood.

"Where did this man appear from?!"

The salesman gave Andrew his new phone, and he went back to the taxi.

The journey continued. Andrew purchased every item that was termed 'the latest product.'

He had gotten a cut from the barber after three months, which utterly changed the way he looked.

Andrew looked at himself in the mirror while he was purchasing some clothes for himself.

He couldn't recognize himself.

Was this the glorious effect of wealth?

Andrew ensured he didn't hold back on spending to look good.

He had spent three hundred million in a day.

Andrew sat in his custom gold-plated limousine with his initials, A.R., by the side.

He held his phone to his ear as he spoke.

"Yes, please, I want to buy every empty house in that estate."

The person on the other line held his breath as he spoke.

This man was someone he couldn't afford to irritate.

"We have fifteen empty mansions in the estate, sir. It would cost you three hundred million dollars."

Andrew didn't speak for a while.

A day ago, he couldn't afford an average house for himself, but currently, he was buying fifteen mansions to spite some people.

He didn't mind it at all.

It seemed like a dream, and Andrew didn't want to wake up.

The estate he was talking about was the Bergen Gardens Estate, where the Winters lived.

After being their son-in-law for some years, Andrew knew most of their hidden secrets.

The Winters didn't fully own the mansion; they had agreed to pay a certain amount every year till they completed the full payment of twenty million dollars.

Andrew was going through his plan to send them out on the streets, but he needed to do it slowly.

Andrew suggested Karen’s first business idea when they got married, and she got famous from it.

However, it was time to take back what she owed him.

"Give me the account to pay into," Andrew said into the phone before disconnecting the call.

He received the account in the next minute, and he immediately transferred the money.

Andrew sat with a bottle of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Grand Cru 1945 in an ice bucket and a wineglass in his hand.

It was midday, and the limousine rode around the vast city to stop before a building.

The Comsor Terrain company. It was just as he remembered.

This company had given a spot to Karen in their shareholding parties.

However, Andrew was about to take charge.

The Comsor Terrain was a cosmetics company and they sold every type of cosmetics.

Andrew had told Karen to go there because she had opened a spa.

The company chose her spa to advertise its brand. This decision made her very popular and attracted many customers. As a result, she became wealthy.

Andrew planned to take over that spot. She didn't deserve to keep it any longer.

He stepped into the company with a stern look on his face.

The Winters were about to regret their actions.

At the Winter's Mansion, Karen sat on the dining table, taking a little snack when she received a call from the office.

Her mouth opened in shock as she tried to register the message.

"What do you mean by the council board ceased the contract?"
