“I can’t protect you forever, Jack!” Bentley said, his voice filled with frustration. “If you keep pushing against the Council’s agenda, they’ll come after you. And you know there is nothing I can do to stop that.”

Jackson sighed, leaning against a table covered in maps and documents.

“Terrence please, I want you to know that I am not pushing against them, Terrence. I’m trying to stop them from crossing the lines we swore we’d never cross. We built this syndicate to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, not to become another cartel.” Jackson uttered.

Bentley shook his head and blurted out; “And you think I don’t know that? You think I haven’t fought the same fights? But you’re putting yourself in their sights, and if you keep this up, they’ll eliminate you without my knowledge that's who they are.
