Meanwhile, Logan Hudson Bentley was having an amazing plan to keep his love life afloat.

In a private beach Logan was standing ever deligently.

Logan Bentley, dressed in a crisp navy suit, stood at the center of it all, his heart pounding like a drum.

Terrence Bentley, Logan’s father, stood nearby, his gruff demeanor softened by the occasion.

“Are you ready for this, son?” he asked, placing a firm hand on Logan’s shoulder.

Logan turned to his father, his voice calm despite the storm of nerves inside him.

“I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life, Dad. She’s my world.”

“Then it is time, I am sure your mother would be proud of you.” he uttered as he smiled at his son.

From the other side of the beach, Patricia’s parents, Mr and Mrs Howard, were ushering Patricia toward the surprise.

She wore a flowing red dress that was quite shimmering, her mother tried to distract her with a funny story but none of that killed her curiosity.

“Where are we going?” Patricia aske

As the last of the fireworks faded into the starry sky, Logan gently took her hand, leading her toward a hidden path that wound through the palm trees. “Where are we going now?” Patricia asked, her voice filled with excitement. “You’ll see,” Logan said, a playful glint in his eye. Their families watched them disappear into the darkness with knowing smiles. Patricia glanced back, noticing her parents and Terrence Bentley sharing quiet laughter as they watched them both go. Something was definitely up and she wanted to find out what that was. Could it be a surprise or is something else going on? The path they walked on was filled with well lit lanterns hanging low from the trees, casting a magical glow. The sound of the ocean faded, replaced by the soft chirping of crickets. They were definitely going into the woods now, the air was warm, and Patricia’s heart raced as they reached the edge of a loving path. There, before her, stood a breathtaking well prepared settings, it

Later that night, when the guests had left and the house was quiet, Patricia wandered out onto the balcony to get some air. The cool breeze was a welcome contrast to the warmth inside. She stared out at the moonlit woods, their shadows deep and endless. Suddenly, a faint noise caught her attention, a rustling from the trees. She leaned over the railing, squinting into the darkness. “Probably just an animal.” she said to herself. But then, she saw it. A figure standing at the edge of the woods, motionless. Her breath caught in her throat as the figure stepped forward, just enough for her to make out their silhouette. “Logan!” she called, her voice trembling. He appeared within seconds, concern etched on his face. “What’s wrong?” “There’s someone out there.” she said, pointing toward the woods. Logan followed her gaze, his expression hardening. “Stay here.” he said firmly. Before Patricia could protest, he was already heading toward the trees. She watched anxiously as he disapp

Later that night, as Patricia lay awake, the house seemed to groan with secrets. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Malcolm’s appearance wasn’t just about her but it was about something deeper, something tied to the estate itself. In her restless state, Patricia wandered down to the library, hoping a book might distract her. As she scanned the shelves, her hand brushed against a dusty journal tucked behind a row of volumes. Curious, she opened it and began to read. The journal belonged to a man named Elias Bentley, one of the estate’s previous owners. His entries spoke of a forbidden love, jealousy, and a terrible betrayal that ended in bloodshed. One passage caught her attention: “They say the heart can drive a man to madness. But what they don’t tell you is that the heart can also be cursed, bound to repeat its torment until justice is served.” As Patricia read the final part, the pieces began to fall into place. Malcolm’s obsession, the secrets he claims to have aga

As the cars rolled into Bentley's estate, the tension in the air was suffocating. Logan was rushed into the estate's private infirmary, his blood staining the crisp white sheets as the doctors scrambled around to save his life. Patricia Howard stood nearby, her face pale and filled with tears. Meanwhile, Malcolm was dragged into the grand hall, his face twisted with rage and no remorse for what he had done. Terrence Bentley stood waiting, his icy demeanor betraying the storm raging within him. The moment Malcolm entered, Terrence’s sharp voice barked out; “Bring that coward here... You idiot, I warned your father that you would be a disgrace when you grow up, but this? You’ve gone too far.” Malcolm smirked despite the situation and uttered; “A disgrace? Is that what you call love, Uncle? Or are you upset because your perfect son isn’t so untouchable after all?” Terrence’s hand slammed against the heavy glass table, the crack echoing like a thunderclap. “Don’t you dare spe

For the first time, Malcolm hesitated, but that didn't last long as he uttered; “You’ll never understand, Patricia. You’re just another piece in their game.” William turned to his son Malcolm, his tone stern. “You’ve done enough, Malcolm. Whatever your grievances, you’ve crossed a line that cannot be uncrossed. How could you try to kill him in public? Do you want to be known as a murderer in the eyes of our investors? That's not what I taught you.” “And you,” Terrence growled, pointing a finger at William, “have enabled him for far too long. If Logan dies, William, I swear there will be no truce… no peace… ever.” Patricia stepped between them, her arms stretched out; “Stop! Both of you! Don’t you see what this is doing? Logan’s life is hanging by a thread, and you’re still fighting over the past.” The doors to the master's bedroom where Logan was opened again, and the doctor reappeared, his expression slightly more hopeful. “We’ve stabilized him,” he said, his voice calm but

As the guards restrained Malcolm, his cries of pain echoed in the grand hall. “You’re all fools! This isn’t over. It’s never over!” He tried to fight them off yet again, but the fight had left his body. Defeated, he sank to his knees, his head hanging low. Patricia held Logan close, her tears falling onto his shoulder. “You shouldn’t have come out of the room” she whispered, her voice breaking. “You’re barely holding on.” Logan’s breathing was ragged, but his resolve was firm, “I couldn’t stay away... Not when you were in danger.” She helped him sit on a nearby chair as her hands trembled as she inspected his wound. “You’ve lost so much blood. We need to get you back to the room and call the doctor.” “No,” Logan said firmly, gripping her hand. “Not yet. There’s something I need to say.” He turned his gaze toward Terrence and William, who now stood on opposite sides of the room, their expressions hard and unreadable. “This ends tonight,” Logan said, his voice filled with

William D’Cruz stood on the balcony, his arms crossed his chest tightly and protectively. Beside him, Terrence Bentley leaned against the railing of the balcony, his usual air of confidence was somewhat covered with weariness. The storm had passed, but the tension between them had not. “For once, I’ll admit,” Terrence said, breaking the silence as he continued; “Logan has got a point. Maybe we have indeed dragged this feud on for too long.” William’s jaw tightened. He forced his lips into a thin smile, but his eyes burned with hidden rage. “Perhaps… perhaps we have.” Terrence gave him a sidelong glance. “That’s it? No argument? No sharp remarks about my so-called arrogance or how I’ve ruined our family’s legacy?” William’s fingers curled around the railing. “Not today,” he said, his voice calm but cold. “I’ve seen enough blood spilled to last a lifetime.” Terrence laughed, though there was no humor in it. “You’re a terrible liar, William. You hate me just as much a

The commotion drew Patricia and Logan, who entered the hall just in time to see William advancing on Terrence again, the dagger poised for another strike. “William, stop!” Patricia cried, rushing forward. “What are you doing?” William froze, his breathing ragged. “This has to end all of this Patricia. Terrence doesn’t deserve to walk away from this. He has taken everything from me.” “No!” she shouted, stepping between the brothers. “This isn’t the way. You’re not a killer, or at least I believe you aren’t.” Terrence straightened, wiping blood from a shallow cut on his arm. “Why stop now William? You are not going to get away with this...” “Shut up!” William barked, his voice trembling with rage. “You don’t get to play the hero and kind hearted one here again, Terrence. Not after everything.” Logan, leaning heavily on Patricia, spoke up. “William, why don’t you kill him off? Isn't that what you've always wanted to do? Just so you know, I will find you and revenge my father. An

Hours later, under tight security and with immense reluctance, Rick was escorted out of the prison. The trio waited in a black SUV, their faces grim as he climbed into the backseat. "Feels good to breathe fresh air again," Rick said, stretching his arms. "Now, let’s get down to business." Bethany turned to him, her eyes blazing with desperation. "Where is she, Rick?" Rick pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Carter. "An address… she’s being held there. But you’d better hurry. My associates aren’t exactly the patient type." Carter snatched the paper, scanning the address. "If this is a trap…" "It’s not," Rick interrupted smoothly. "I want you out of my hair as much as you want your kid back." “Well it better not be a trap, or else I will make sure you stay in jail or worse meet your untimely death regardless of the consequences.” Troy Reece uttered sternly. “Relax big guy…” Rick said, raising his hands in surrender, mockingly and added; “It's not a tra

One after the other, the trio slipped inside, moving between stacks of crates as gently as they could. The sound of voices grew louder. They spotted Marcus Kane at the center of the room, flanked by armed guards. Carter whispered, "We take out the guards quietly. Then we corner Marcus." Troy nodded, drawing his silenced pistol. One by one, they incapacitated the guards, their movements swift and precise. Finally, they approached Marcus, who was seated at a table, his back to them. Troy pressed his gun to Marcus’s temple. "Don’t move." Marcus froze, his hands raised. "Well, well, Reece. You’ve got guts showing up here." Bethany stepped forward, her voice shaking with anger. "Where is Hilary? Where is my daughter?” Marcus smirked and uttered; "Ooh!! I am shaking in my pants, wait did you think I’ll just hand her over? Rick’s paying me more than you can imagine to keep her out of your reach." Carter slammed his fist on the table. "We’re not leaving without her!" The sound

Bethany sat in the car on a quiet road a few miles from the Bentley estate, her hands trembling as she clutched the steering wheel. She had driven here in desperation and Troy as well as Carter had flanked her from behind, but Logan’s guards had turned her away without even hearing her out. Tears welled down in her eyes as she thought about her daughter, alone and in danger. Her phone buzzed on the passenger seat, and she flinched, hesitating before picking it up. Rick’s message was short and brutal; “Time’s up. No freedom, no daughter.” ‘How did he have my phone number? Of course he is a notorious man. What's so special about my phone number that it would be too hard to get?’ She thought. Bethany began to sob, her body shaking as she tried to gather her thoughts. Logan wasn’t coming, he was too caught up in his own war to help her. How could she expect him to drop his own family obligations just so he could save a child who wasn't his, not to talk of one whom she had turn

Patricia stood in the doorway of his study wearing one of Logan’s button-up shirts, her arms folded across her chest. She looked at him with concern, but her voice was steady. “You’ve been up all night, what's up?” Logan turned, his expression softening when he saw her. “I had to plan.” Patricia stepped closer, her bare feet on the wooden floors, even though it was cold she didn't mind, she then uttered; “Planning is one thing and wearing yourself out right before a fight is another.” “I can’t afford to rest,” Logan replied, his voice firm but gentle. “Malcolm won’t stop until one of us is dead. I have to be ready.” Patricia reached out, taking his hand and said; “I know you feel like this is all on you, but it’s not. You have people who want to help you. Damon’s men, the loyal guards here, and… me.” Logan’s jaw tightened. “You’ve already helped enough, Patricia. More than I would ever ask for, B But now, you need to focus on yourself and the baby. • CHAPTER 206

Bentley's estate was quiet but tense. The events of the night replayed in his mind: the ambush at the cabin, Patricia’s revelation, and Damon Salvatore’s shadowy intervention. Everything pointed to one undeniable fact, that this wasn’t just survival anymore. It was war! A soft knock at the study door interrupted his thoughts. It opened slightly, and Patricia peeked in. Her face was calm, but her eyes betrayed her concern. “You should be resting,” Logan said, setting the glass down. She stepped in, closing the door behind her. “I can’t sleep, not with everything happening. Not with you down here, planning who-knows-what.” Logan stood, walking over to her. “Patricia, you need to trust me. I’ll handle Malcolm.” “And what happens if you don’t?” she asked, her voice trembling. “Logan, I’m scared. For you, for us, for this baby. Every time you walk into danger, I feel like I’m losing a part of you.” Logan gently took her hands, his eyes softening. “I know you’re scared, but

The woods were quiet except for the wind, but Logan’s mind raced as he paced the cabin’s living room. Patricia sat on the couch, her hands tightly gripping the edges, her face pale but determined. “We need to leave this place soon, Malcolm already knows where we are now. It’s only a matter of time before he sends more men to cause a scene or worse.” Patricia hesitated, then stood, her arms instinctively wrapping around herself protectively. “Logan, look here, running away won’t solve this. You know that as well as I do.” Logan turned to her, his expression softening but still firm. “This isn’t running, it's called a strategy. We regroup with our own men and plan our next move. Malcolm thinks I’ll be caught off guard simply because I am in the woods, but I won’t give him that satisfaction, hell no! • CHAPTER 204

The room was eerily silent after Logan’s departure, the reality or the fact that what had just transpired in front of him began to kick in. His father’s lifeless body laid on the floor, and his blood gushing out from his head beneath him. Malcolm dropped to his knees beside William, his hands trembling as he shook him. “Father, wake up!” His voice cracked, desperation could be seen. But despite all the tears and calling, William D’Cruz was gone, his now cold and blind eyes staring at the ceiling into nothingness. The shot was directed to his brain so no amount of surgery could bring him back to life. Malcolm’s breathing was no longer normal, it is more like he was hyperventilating as he clenched his fists. He felt his anger deep into his veins, boiling hotter than he thought possible. His entire world had just been shattered by Logan Bentley, his cousin, and right then and there as he knelt down beside his father's dead body, he vowed and swore to make sure, Logan pays wit

Damon nodded. “If you’re set on this path, Master Logan, then promise me one thing: don’t lose yourself entirely. Your father wouldn’t want his legacy to be remembered in blood.” Logan didn’t respond. He simply turned back to the desk and pulled out a drawer, retrieving a small, sleek pistol that had belonged to his father. He checked the chamber, the metallic click echoing in the silent room. “This isn’t about his legacy anymore,” Logan said quietly. “It’s about vengeance and making sure men like William and Malcolm never hurt anyone again.” **** Days later, seeing his father's remains that was completely unrecognisable, made Logan feel as though he had not done anything yet. He was supposed to be planning his father's burial but all he could think about was William's dead body being brought to the morgue as well. He couldn't just sit back and let his father be buried alone. What was his offence, being really good at everything and being his father's favorite? Well that was t

As Logan walked out of his room well dressed, he was no longer just Terrence Bentley's grieving son, oh that ship has long sailed he was a man on a mission, a storm brewing with the promise of destruction. The Bentley estate’s private garage housed a collection of cars, each a symbol of his father’s taste and success. Logan selected a sleek black SUV, its engine roaring to life like a growl from deep within his chest. He peeled out of the driveway, his destination clear: William D'Cruz's sprawling estate on the other side of town. Damon, who saw him driving away, immediately sent trusted men to shadow him. “Ready the men, make sure nothing happens Master Logan is that clear?” “Yes sir!!” They all ran off and began shadowing him, because his safety was their priory, should something happen to him, it could cost them their lives. As the city lights blurred past, Logan’s thoughts were filled with the memories of his father, his warm laugh, his stern yet encouraging words kept
