CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

Eventually, Eleanor composed herself and managed a weak smile. She wiped away her tears and said, "Thank you, Logan. I appreciate your kindness."

Logan smiled back, relieved to see Eleanor feeling a bit better. "Anytime, Eleanor. Remember, you have friends who care about you, myself included. If you ever need to talk or anything else, don't hesitate to reach out."

Eleanor nodded, and they continued walking together towards her home.

As Logan and Eleanor neared Crescent Street, Logan suddenly came to a halt, causing Eleanor to take a few steps ahead before realizing he had stopped. She turned back, a quizzical expression on her face, and asked, "Logan, why did you stop?"

Logan met her gaze with a hint of regret in his eyes. "Eleanor, I'm sorry, but this is as far as I can go," he replied apologetically.

Eleanor nodded, understanding his boundaries. She said, "No problem, Logan. I appreciate your help today. I'll continue from here."
