CHAPTER FIFTY NINE

Logan's heart raced as he opened the door, seeing his former boss, the same man who had once employed him but now looked a little less angry and wore a disconcerting smile.

The boss noticed the fresh bruises on Logan's face and couldn't help but comment, "Logan, you're going to get yourself killed if you keep getting involved in whatever you've joined."

Logan didn't feel like explaining himself anymore. He was tired of trying to make people understand that he hadn't joined anyone. He asked, "What are you doing here? I thought we came to an understanding."

The boss nodded, his smile never fading. "We did, Logan, but it wasn't a complete understanding. There's more to discuss."

Logan's eyebrows furrowed as his former boss handed him another set of documents to sign. Logan took the papers, his eyes scanning the text carefully. As he read, his eyes widened in disbelief.
