CHAPTER FORTY ONE

Logan stood there, still shaken by the sudden eruption of violence, as the gangster who had been on the receiving end of Baton's punch yelled in pain, "Jesus Baton, you broke my godamm nose," clutching his bleeding nose.

Baton, displaying a surprising degree of composure, offered an apology, "I'm sorry mate but you don't mess with our guy," extending his hand to help the injured gangster to his feet.

Amid the chaos, the robotic voice of the system abruptly sounded in Logan's head, addressing him as "host" once more. It delivered an ultimatum: he had 12 hours left to expose the bike gangster. However, Logan, who had just witnessed Baton's fierce temper, couldn't help himself. He muttered a defiant "shut up" to the system's voice.

Baton turned back to Logan, an inquisitive look on his face. "What did you say?"

Logan quickly covered up, forcing an overly wide and strange smile. "Oh, nothing, just talking to myself, you know."
