CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIX

Chaos erupted in the boardroom as Mr. Patrick's shocking admission hung in the air. The council members, once composed, now bombarded him with questions, demanding explanations. "What did you just say?" one of them shouted, while another angrily interrogated, "Are you involved in something we don't know about?"

Realizing the gravity of his slip, Mr. Patrick stammered, attempting to backtrack. "I-I don't know what I said. It must be a mistake." However, the council members weren't buying it, their expressions a mix of anger and suspicion.

In the midst of the turmoil, one member shouted to an employee closeby, "Call security, now!" Panic spread as Mr. Patrick, cornered and desperate, swiftly revealed a hidden pistol. He grabbed a fellow board member who was sitting close to him, her eyes wide with fear, threatening to shoot if anyone approached.

"Back off! I'll shoot if you come any closer!" Mr. Patrick's voice was frantic, and he fired a shot into the ceiling, sending a shockwave of fe
