CHAPTER THIRTY SIX

Eleanor pushed her plate aside, hardly touching her meal, and stood up abruptly. Without a word, she stormed out of the bar, leaving with her friends. Logan watched her exit with a mix of surprise and relief. It seemed his comedic efforts had finally worked, driving Eleanor to an unexpected exit.

Turning his attention back to Aella, Logan found her smiling and seemingly unfazed by the dramatic exit. They finished their lunch in peace, sharing stories and laughter. It was as if Eleanor's presence had never cast a shadow over their table.

As they stepped out of the restaurant, Aella's phone rang. She answered it with a bright, affectionate tone, saying, "Hey, Honey, how's your day going?" They talked for awhile, while Logan stood closeby watching them as he was uncomfortable with her enthusiastic response to the conversation with the unknown caller.
