"Edgar Plutus, do you take Edna Abigail Jones as your lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

"I do," Edgar answered without thinking twice.

"What God joins together, let no one put asunder," the priest declared and that was all it took for them to get married.

Edgar frowned as he watched his guests. Everyone of them were from the ‘high class society’ and a good number of them had once looked down on him at one time or the other.

Why were they here? Well, it was the wedding of Edna Jones, the daughter of one of the top three richest men in town. Though she was getting married to a pauper, but her father was rich and it was an avenue for these greedy people to meet each other and see how much they could take advantage of each other.

His wedding was an opportunity for these snobs to get richer and it annoyed Edgar.
