Chapter 17: Dark mansion (part 4)

Meanwhile, outside of the mansion.

A little girl flew outside, thanks to the flowing gust skill Laura used to her.

Koyome landed on the ground unharmed.

Upon landing on the ground Koyome saw a terrifying thing in front of her. Koyome was astonished looking at it.

The mansion where she came from is not just an ordinary hunted mansion. In a spider-like appearance. having eight legs and on its back, the mansion is constructed.

"The mansion... The mansion is a monster.

The monster didn't notice Koyome, maybe because she is small or maybe it's not interested in Koyome.

"I wonder if big sister Laura and the weird girl are okay... It's better to ask someone to help them out. That's right, I need to ask for help."

When Koyome turns its back from the mansion. To get some help. She accidentally bumps into a girl who seemed to be the same age as Laura.

"Ouch... That hurts."

"Hey, little kid! Watch your way It's dangerous."

Said the girl.

"I'm sorry, I'm just in hurry… I need to find someone to help my friend inside the mansion."

"Help? mansion? You mean they are inside that moving mansion."

Said the girl and pointed it out.

"The mansion it's moving?! Ehhh?!"

"Hey hey it's obvious, look that monster got eight legs."

"Well, I know what is the use of legs, but hearing that from you pissed me a little... Now, what's your deal? I think you got something to do with that thing right?"

"Of course, I got something to do with that monster... My name is Taki Grandbell the number one genius apprentice who will save the day for you."

Introducing herself with a high stack attitude and confidence. The girl named Taki Grandbell appeared. She might be a small girl, but like Laura, she receives special training and now traveling.

"But it's already nighttime."

"Stop destroying my grand debut introduction."

She replied as she looks toward Koyome with a smug face.

"You call that grand?"

"Geez.. you're still a kid that's why you don't understand… Then, I guess all I need to do is show my power."

Taki gets a pair of bells from her waist and suddenly jumps high up in the sky.

"Awesome, what she's trying to do?"

Said Koyome with eyes of awe.

"Sound skill: Paralyzing tone!"

Paralyzing tone - A rare skill that used mana and natural energy to produce a semi-irritating tone that makes the target lost its mind for 7 seconds. It's rare because only people who can use sound spells can use it.

(Note: In the time Taki used her sound skill Laura and Yumi also got affected inside.)

"Nice! Now for the next one... Sound skill: Thunder tone!"

Thunder tone - A skill that used a magical tone to calls thunder that produces a powerful lightning strike. It's a skill that requires a lot of mana and natural energy. In Taki's case, she can just use it two times a day. Just like paralyzing tone, only sound spell users can use this skill.

After Taki strikes the mansion using her skill. The monster seemed to be not hurt and continue to move.

"Grrrr... What is with that magic barrier, it even blocks my special skill. Now how the hell I defeat this monster. I can't go back to master with a pathetic face... Hey, little kid, you're still here huh? I thought you already run away."

Irritated by the results Taki gripped her bells tightly. Looking at Koyome.

"How the hell would I run away if we're surrounded by this."

Koyome shows Taki the result of her skills.

The sound the produce by the paralyzing tone and thunder tone. Wakes up a large amount of monster living in the forest. Taki was looking skeptical about what she just did.

"So that sound skill is from this runt."

"Ekkk..."

Different types of animal monsters appeared from the forest surrounding Koyome. They are all low-level monsters but the quantity of them is more than enough to call an army.

"I didn't know a little girl like her can make us angry like this."

"Now pay your action with your flesh..."

The monsters chatted as they look at Taki with furious eyes.

Koyome started to duck down and tremble in fear. Looking at the monsters she started to lost faith. Koyome looks so miserable and she falls on her knees.

"Just how many unfortunate things will happen to me today?"

Koyome muttered.

"Now! little girl cover your ears!"

Taki shouted toward Koyome.

"Huh?!"

"Just cover your ears!"

Koyome followed Taki's instruction and cover her ear. After that, Taki make a deep breath and raises both of her arms.

"Sound skill: Paralyzing tone!!"

An earsplitting sound was released from her bell. It’s far stronger than what she just used earlier. The sound waves destroyed the ears of the monsters Taki targeted. Resulting in them being defeated. All the monster around them was whited out.

Some monster immediately saves themselves by destroying their own ear to survive paralyzing tone. Because they can’t hear a single sound they are not affected by the sound skill Taki used.

"I didn't think there is some clever monster in the forest. I thought they were all dumb monsters."

Taki said.

The monster didn’t hear what Taki was talking about but they know that the smug face of Taki is making them angrier.

"Would you stop making them angrier, look they seemed to be in a rage."

Koyome started to panic seeing the reaction of the monsters.

Taki then goes toward Koyome to protect her.

"But they don't have ears right? How the heck they hear me."

"That makes some point, but this is really bad… They're going to get us."

"The mansion is getting further need to chase it... But It seems like I need to finish these monsters first… Hey, kid ride my back and hold on tightly…"

Koyome doesn’t have much of a choice but to do what Taki said. Taki is the only one she can rely on in this dangerous moment. Taki makes a tight grip on her bells and concentrates her mana and natural energy.

"Sound skill: Magnetude tone!"

Magnetude tone: A skill that uses an intense vibration of sound to the ground. Creating a man-made earthquake. The only sound spell caster can use this skill.

Taki's power is not enough to make a rampaging earthquake but she still manages to make the monster immobile.

“I just make a 2.0 magnitude... I need more practice.”

"That's dangerous."

Taki runs and escapes the monsters by jumping on trees and at the same time, she chases the mansion.

"Earlier you said that your friend is inside that mansion right?"

"Yes, they are inside. Big sister Konoha and one weird pink-haired girl."

"Weird pink-haired girl? Never mind, how are they inside, and how you escape that monster?"

"Trouble happened inside the mansion and Big sister Laura takes the opportunity to save me by letting me escape the mansion alone."

"Letting a little girl alone in the nighttime, that's pretty dumb."

"Well, she's quite dumb... But I know she just wants to save me because inside that mansion is more dangerous. Many monsters and demons are living inside that mansion."

"Look's like the intel is correct, that mansion is used to be a nest of the demons. I can't leave this monster to escape… I know a near city… I'm going to leave you there and wait for our return."

"Wait are you planning on entering the mansion?"

"Just stay here, I'm going to return with your friends."

Taki replies with a big smile and runs to the nearest city. The city near the forest is the city name Everfloria city. Taki escorts Koyome to the gate and leaves her.

"Wait… I forgot to tell my name..."

Said Koyome.

Taki rushed herself chasing the monster. Luckily she manages to chase it down and get on top of it.

"This mansion is really big… I need to be extra cautious about what's going to happen next. I need to be prepared for anything.”

Creepy hands emerge from the windows and grabbed Taki’s feet dragging her inside the mansion just like what happened to Laura earlier.

Falling into a dark room Taki saw the demons waiting. With her fast reflexes, she chanted her skill and defeat them all.

"Sound spell: Sonic waves."

Sonic wave is an inferior class of paralyzing tone skill. It makes the target stunned for 2- 3 seconds.

After the demons got stunned. Taki kills the monsters by stabbing the head of the demons using a dagger from her waist.

"That's all of them I guess…”

I huge footstep is heard and a high-ranking demon shows himself.

"That noise is irritating... That noise... Must kill the one who produces that noise..."

The demon said and charged in Taki’s direction. Taki rapidly reacted and created a plan on her head.

But the demon hurried and slap Taki's hands. Making Taki losing her grip on the bells and dagger.

"That bell is annoying... That bell is annoying."

Said the demon.

The demon walked toward the bells...

"This bell is annoying... must destroy this... thing..."

Before the demon stomp the bell.

Taki jumps to save the most precious thing given to her by her master.

"Ugg... That hurt's..."

Taki started to scream in pain after catching stomps from the demon.

"Why why you're not moving? Why save a useless thing like that?"

Asked the demon.

"Why? It's simple, this thing is precious to me and I don't want to lose it… This bell is from my beloved master. I can't afford to lose it."

"Then... You choose your path to die... Die happy with you're precious bell."

"Sorry, but that's something that not going to happened."

Suddenly the dagger flies toward the demon's neck.

"Carp... The dagger... I forgot..."

Taki picked up the dagger before she jumps to save the bells. And use the opportunity to throw it while the demon lowered its guard.

"Pick the right moment, that's one of my master's teachings..."

"Die! ... A powerful demon like me can't be defeated by a runt..."

The demon started to get angrier and attack Taki like a berserker. He randomly throws powerful punches at Taki. Destroying the walls, furniture, and floors.

Taki manages to dodge each of the attacks and wait for the perfect time to counter.

Then after throwing hundred of punches at Taki. Taki finally saw an opening that will turn the tables on her side.

A winning move. The demon didn't realize its a mistake and continue to move.

And in a split second.

"Sound skill: Explosion!"

The sounds produced in her bell became destructive and release an explosion. The explosion blast off the demon's head and body to tiny pieces.

Not only that...

Taki realized something her master told her over and over again before.

Don't use explosions in close areas like caves and buildings or else...

"I-I mess up..."

The ceiling started to crumble and the floor started to break.

Taki has nowhere to run and fall.

"Ahhhhhh!”

On the floor below. Laura and Yumi were leisurely taking a break eating donuts. Then they heard the girls scream.

"Yumi what is that?"

Laura said and turn her head toward Yumi.

"I don't know…”

The happening was so fast for them. On the top of Yumi. Taki fell down and accidentally put her lips on Yumi. Taki has accidentally taken Yumi’s first kiss.

“!?” 2x

Their face started to blush red in embarrassment.
