Chapter 20: Dark mansion (Part 7)

"I never expect that little mice will defeat my strongest soldier. I am quite impressed with your achievements. As a reward, I'm going to eat the three of you and gain your power."

The three of us started to become cautious.

I can feel it. It's totally different level from the dark being we faced earlier.

Remembering what the demon said earlier. He said something about him having a master. Also, he referred Guslus as his soldier then that means he's the leader of all the demon living in this mansion.

"Crap, I used too much mana on my spell earlier. I don't know if I can still fight that monster."

Said Yumi.

"I got the same problem here, but we still have no choice but to fight this monster… Let's work together to beat that monster."

"That's right, Let's work together like earlier."

I said and grip my sword tightly.

As long we work together we can break this through. Let's believe in each other everyone's strength.

"Three versus one, that's pretty unfair... Dark soldiers summon."

The demon said. Summoned monsters started to appear using a magic circle as its passage.

They seemed to be the normal monsters we fought earlier.

"Now this is fair... Dark soldiers attack them."

"How the hell this became fair… This is totally unfair."

Said Taki as she complains about the dirty trick of our opponent.

"Laura, Taki... I don't have enough mana to fight the boss monster but I think, I can help you by dealing with this small fry."

"I see, you're really good at buying time? Then I will never gonna let your suicide plan go to waste…"

Yumi looks toward Taki with angry eyes.

"Common let's just focus or else we might die here."

I said to stop their useless fight.

"I will make way for Laura to charge in toward the big monster and Yumi here take this dagger it will help you."

"Huh? Why me?"

"You're really stupid aren't you? You're the only one who can use that sword to its full potential right? Besides, I don't have enough energy or mana to cast a powerful tone skill. All I can do is use some spell and support you using cheer tone."

Taki is right? I can't be a coward in this situation. In a life and death situation, you should b brave and charge in like a bull.

"Laura in the count of three, we will charge in."

"Yes."

Taking a deep breath. Taki and I crouched and prepared to dash forward.

"Three."

"Two."

"One."

"Charge in! Cheer tone!"

Taki immediately chanted a cheering tone to power up my physical body. While Yumi charges toward the hordes of the monster using the dagger Taki gave to her.

"Red eye's this girl got red eye's."

Said by the monsters.

"Huh? Do you have a problem with my eyes?"

"Sound spell: Sonic blast."

Taki fulfills her job of making way toward the boss monster.

Wind skill: Flowing gust.

By enveloping my body with wind magic. I was able to increase my speed. I charged toward the boss monsters head-on and swing my sword in full strength.

My sword was deflected by a sword the demon created by molding his own hand. After that, he molded his other arms into a sharp-pointed spear and thrust toward my chest.

Before it goes through my body. I blasted myself using the explosion-like force created from my wind force. The power of the wind force also knocks back the monster's body 20 meters away from me.

"The skill is pretty impressive… But It's no use to me..."

The demon said and lifted his head turning his gaze on me. Without him noticing I already blasted myself using wind force again and goes toward his attacking zone.

"Wind skill: Wind blade!"

I swing my sword aiming for his head and missed leaving a scratch on his cheeks. Dark blood started to flow from his wound and smile.

"It hurts but I like it… I remember now that pure white sword. the sword that killed most of the dark beings and pushes our species to a brick of extinction. I didn't know that the current wielder of it is just a little kid like you… It's really funny."

This white sword pushed the demons into a brick of extinction? That was interesting but this is not the time to chat.

"Wind blade!"

He blocked my magic again with his sword.

"The pure white sword, The sword that killed a lot of my comrades. I must kill the wielder and avenge their death."

"Stop accusing me in your non-sense… This sword is wielded by my dead mother before and it's given to me.”

He monster stop and think deeply.

"What did you just said? That sword is wielded by your dead mother? Dead? The woman who pushes us to brick extinction is now dead... I'm searching for her for 300 years already and now I will find out that she's dead. That's unacceptable!"

He suddenly released an intense amount of dark energy in his body.

300 years? I’m sure my mother is not that old. Seems like he misunderstood things. Maybe there is the wielder of this sword before that nearly kill all the demons before. If there are awesome people like that. I wanted to know her.

The demon was raging and became more aggressive to his attacks. His attacks grow heavier and unpredictable.

It feels like he's attacking in a random direction.

"Unacceptable!"

My shoulder was then cut. I suffered from a minor injury. The cut is not that deep but it hurt so much.

"Urg... It hurt so much."

I didn't feel this much pain before. Even in the fight between me and Minotaur.

"Dark astral blade. when you're cut with this you're wound will never gonna stop bleeding until you defeated me… Since your mother is dead I guess I have no choice but to kill you here instead."

The demon walked toward me.

"... Now you can go to heaven with your mother."

I don't want to die here yet. I want to learn more. I want to make my adventure in this world.

I don't want to end it like this.

I force myself to grab my sword and...

Before the monster attacks me.

Yumi with the dagger in her hand charges in to block the attack.

"Don't hurt my friend..."

"Yumi?"

"Laura is my first friend and I can't afford to lose her. I will protect her and save her like what she did to me."

"Sound skill: Cheer tone! Yumi Laura steps back right now."

The monster noticed Taki and attack her with its stretching arms.

"That tone is annoying... Now it's your turn."

The monster uses his sword to attack Yumi on her belly.

Yumi flew through the ground and in a critical state. The wound on Yumi's belly is deep and needs an urgent healing process.

"Laura doesn't worry about me, I have high resistance in pain."

Said Yumi.

After hearing her.

I started to remember everyone who died in front of me.

... And lastly, I saw my mother and Mayu's smile.

Someone will die in protecting me...

Intense mana is released to my body and my light brown hair turn aqua blue again.

"You bastard, I can't let you live anymore. I will defeat you-!!"

"What is this? Blue haired? I thought they are long gone in history. The blue-haired mages. Mages are said to have infinite talent in the field of magic. No wonder she got this intense amount of mana on her body."

The mana I release started my make the dark being sweat in fear.

"Pure white sword and blue-haired mage. This kid got both potential and talent…"

The mansion itself stops moving for some reason.

"I can't lose here, I must win."

Holding my sword tightly. I charge toward the monster and slash him down using my sword.

"Dark energy barrier!"

The dark barrier he uses to protect himself is cut open with a touch of my sword.

The dark being struggles himself and fights back using his swords and spears.

But my current power is currently exceeding him and push him to his limit. I slashed his body in half.

That will end this battle.

The dark being fell to his knees and collapsed. My aqua blue hair turns back to its normal light brown and I immediately go to Yumi and Taki to help them.

But The dark being still didn't vanish and use his last energy to attack me.

"Metal spears!"

I miscalculated. I thought he's already defeated.

Before the spear fell toward me.

I saw a woman with an umbrella in her hand and save me.

She deflected the metal spears using her umbrella.

“It's the woman who looks like my mother earlier.”

I muttered.

She came to save me.

"It's a waste if this girl is killed here. She got a lot of potentials after all. Sorry but I guess this is the end for you."

"Another enemy... Metal spea..."

The woman suddenly appeared from the back of the dark being and smashed its head using the umbrella.

"I plan on taking the boss monsters myself but these kids sure did their best."

The boss monster in the mansion was then defeated. burned and vanished into thin smoke.

Then the woman turned her glance over my direction and walked.

I thought she's bad because of her creepy voice earlier but I guess she's not.

"Thank you for saving me... Urghh... ..."

She suddenly put her hands to my neck and tried to kill me.

"Don't thank me, little girl… I didn't save you because of my kindness. I save you because you will become a proper opponent in the future. Go and train hard every day and fight me someday. I will be forever happy on that day. You're potential is really overflowing. I can't wait..."

She said as she stares at me with creepy eyes.

"... Don't worry about this mansion. I already make its heart explode. It will vanish after few more moments... And also Take this teleport stone. This will teleport you three to the nearest town or city."

She released me and turn her back away.

"Still, thank you from earlier… If that day comes, I’ll make sure to defeat you."

She makes a smile and replied.

"Then remember my name, My name is Elaina… Don't forget that."

After that, she suddenly disappeared in thin air.

That woman I got a feeling that I will meet her again and that time I think she's going to kill me.

"Elaina."

After that, I used the teleport stone to Taki and Yumi to bring them to the nearest town. We landed at the front gate and notice a girl waiting for our arrival.

"Big sister Laura... W-What happened to them?"

"It's a long story but we need to bring them to the hospital."

Koyome helps me to reach the hospital and let Taki and Yumi have a good rest.
