Chapter 9

At the night banquets, where the light sparkled around the beautifully set event with many expensive items and decorations, more like a paradise.

Cynthia was the first person to arrive at the party, showcasing a sense of punctuality in a stunning blue short gown. The attendees raised their eyes to the beauty that had just entered.

Ms. Riley, the secretary, followed, unable to contain her amazement at the event and decorations.

"The Saluzzo family is something. Their sense of decoration is unique, they are just good at everything," she said, losing herself in admiration.

Cynthia nodded, "They must be filthy rich; all the items used for decoration here are highly expensive."

"It would do us a lot of good if we managed to become one of their collaborators. We would soar higher than this," Ms. Riley suggested.

Cynthia smiled, "We must become their collaborator. I will do everything in my capacity to make this successful."

"Yeah, so for now, it will be good if you don't fill yourself with bad energy, I mean Mlynar."

Cynthia gave the secretary a cold gaze, "You are the one bringing up the apparently bad energy, so can you please not talk about him."

Ms. Riley nodded. Ferdinand approached them.

Ms. Riley was excited to see him, "Wow, you came here."

Ferdinand nodded, "Yeah, I came to support you and will do anything to make Cloud Group the collaborator; you know it will be a big favor."

Mrs. Riley smiled, "Wow, thank you. You always do Madam good."

Meanwhile, Cynthia faced the other side and completely ignored her. Ferdinand became furious, trying everything to make Cynthia trust him, the only way for him to get his way.

Outside the venue, Cellinina and Lapland, in fairy dresses, alighted from the car, drawing everyone's attention as the two Saluzzo princesses.

They waited beside the bodyguard's car for Mlynar. The bodyguards came down from the car taking the other side to avoid people's attention.

When Mlynar decided to come down, one of the bodyguards stopped him. "Please, take the side door," he suggested with a smile.

The side door is where Cellinina and Lapland are waiting, with people snapping pictures. Whispers circulated about who could make Saluzzo's two beauties wait.

Mlynar found it amusing but accepted, getting down from the other side. Cellinina immediately slid her hand on his shoulder and stood close.

Lapland twitched her head as they walked by and entered the banquet hall, and the guest whispers intensified.

"Who could he be?"

"He's certainly from a wealthy family."

"He might be a top mafia leader."

Cynthia and Mrs. Riley were surprised to see Mlynar at the event.

"What... What is he doing here?" Ms. Riley stammered.

Cynthia approached Mlynar to apologize but, upon realizing Cellinina and Lapland, changed it to greetings.

"Hello, Mlynar."

"Nice meeting you here," Mlynar replied. Cynthia noticed the beautiful fairy woman beside him as their eyes met.

"Who... are you, please?" Cynthia asked, maintaining her composure.

"I am Cellinina Saluzzo," Cellinina introduced. Cynthia choked a little but hid it.

Cynthia felt jealous, asking, "How was she to you?"

"Why should you care?" Mlynar coldly answered.

Cellinina, with hostility in her voice, asked, "Who is she, please?"

"My ex-wife. We divorced today," he answered.

Cellinina felt a ting of happiness, "Nice meeting you again," she said, offering a handshake, which they shook.

"You didn't tell me you are friends with her," Cynthia said.

"Why should I tell you, why should you care? It's none of your business," Mlynar replied.

The situation tensed up as everyone fell silent. Lapland chimed in, "That's okay. You don't have to talk casually to him, nor does he owe you a discussion since the two of you have broken up."

Cynthia became unhappy with Lapland's directive words. Mlynar's coldness added to her discomfort.

"I just want to talk to you, straighten something out," Cynthia said.

"What is that? Say it here," Mlynar coldly replied.

"It's something private, meant to be discussed between just you and me. Withdraw any third party," Cynthia insisted.

Mlynar stood his ground, "I am not following anywhere. If you have anything to say, say it here, please."

"Why are you so cold to me? At least hear what I have to say," Cynthia furiously demanded.

"Please, I don't want any misunderstanding. Either we talk here or not at all," he stated.

"Why are you ignoring me this much? You were not like this before. What makes you so changed and cold?"

"Just as I said, I don't want any misunderstanding. We are divorced. Since I am not in your caliber and standard, what could a lowlife like me be doing with someone with a high standard like you?"

Cynthia was furious and in a hell of rage, believing Mlynar's coldness was due to Cellinina. She suddenly became jealous, even though she was the one who initiated the divorce.

"I gave you a chance to apologize for what you did, but you insisted on being in the right even after hitting my brother," Cynthia blamed Mlynar for the incident.

Mlynar scoffed, "I am not apologizing, and there's nothing you can do about it."

"I know you're doing this because of her. We just broke up today, and you're already with someone else. You don't even respect our relationship!"

Mlynar scoffed again, "I can't believe you're talking about respect. What about you? You left me for Chris; the two of you are in a relationship."

"Who told you I'm in a relationship with him? Stop bringing up irrelevant things to justify your actions."

Just then, Ferdinand appeared, approaching them.

"Irrelevant indeed," Mlynar chuckled. He thought Cynthia had been cheating on him with Ferdinand during their marriage.

Cynthia exhaled loudly, choosing not to say anything.

"Cynthia, here you are. I've been looking for you," Ferdinand said, eyeing the two beauties beside Mlynar.

They were elegant, and their beauty made him instantly lost.

However, he was furious to see Cellinina with her arms around Mlynar. He chose to embarrass him, saying, "Isn't this the cleaner in your company?" with a smirk.
