Chapter 25I stared out of the window barrier, my vision navigating through the pale blue sky spread across the horizon. I waited patiently, a subtle feeling of joy beneath my heart as I anticipate dearly for it. The best part of my mornings. My room was a perfect place for the daily routine. A wide smile broke on my face the moment the color blossomed, the orange visual of tint padding the east side of the sky as the big round ball of sun slowly came to view. The grin on my lips stretched wider. My gaze glued to the sky, where the luminous celestial body of the sun was slowly shaping it full-size into view. I just love seeing the sun rise, this has been me since I was a kid. I remember always doing it with my mother and my father both at my sides, up till I became eight years old and I lost my father. I started watching it alone, my mother without any specific reason stopped watching it with me; I’d say because it reminded her of her husband. A knock came upon my door, interrup
Chapter 26 Marco was left to his thinking. Cassius allowed the pending silence dominated their conversation, leaving his grandson to flat out his thoughts. A minute ticked by, and a deep sigh emanated from Marco’s throat. He cleared his throat. “I have something very important to discuss with you about today,” Marco started, although conflicted on how he’d table the discussion. He commended his bravery for standing up against the hatred leveled against him down when he was introduced to the family, and how his idea of countering the enemies coming for him was to hide away and let someone else do the job. Doesn’t look very notable, but he was still going to say it. “So……..” Marco went on narrating to Cassius how it began, from himself visiting his new home and his encounter with the hired assassin. No detail was singled out, how he escaped the assassin and developed the idea of pursuing his lie to the assassin and drawing out his enemies. “Wow!” Cassius gasped, evident in his
Chapter 27Marco smacked his lips at the sight of his victim getting dragged in, his hands were tied behind his back and veil hang right over his head to blind his vision. He was pushed to the floor and made to kneel door after arriving at Marco’s mercy. “Get the mask of his face.” Marco instructed, loving how he helpless he appeared. Nights ago he was the helpless one, he had taken advantage of his situation and abused him. He also took away his girlfriend, and nurse the notion of Gina being in love with him in his head. Marco left the Lourd’s domain to deal with this, be bad passed a call straight to his assistant telling him of how he wanted Dren captured in anyway possible and brought to a private location his assistant secured beforehand. He also sent his men in bailing Gina out of the prison, and escort her to where he was. “Marco!” Dren voiced in a low muffled voice, surprised that he was the culprit behind his abduction. “What do you want with me?” He quizzed, unable to
Chapter 28Gina was ushered into the room, not knowing what was in store for her arrival. Her eyes trailed on a knelt Dren on the floor, to Marco who sat far from him on a cushion. She questioned the scene in her mind, unable to voice out her quizzical thoughts. Eventually, she was brought to Marco and made to stand in front of him. Marco stood up, his height dominating hers instantly as he looked down at her face, seeing the little fear seeping out from her timid gaze. He moved closer, touching her chin and tipping her head forward to look him straight in the eyes. “You said you love me, how true is that?” Marco quested, keeping their gaze attached as he anticipated her response. Gina altered the eye contact, looking away from him to Dren that was on the floor, and the men standing in different spots around the room. “What is going on? What is happening? Why is he here?” Gina questioned on her own, pointing at Dren in reference to her last question. Marco heaved a deep breath,

Chapter 30“You want me to kill somebody all in the name of proving my love for you?” Her eyes twitched with disbelief, scoffing with her mind unable to come in terms with the request. “Not anybody, you’re killing the same man you chose over me. And this shouldn’t be a problem, you can kill for me can’t you? Just like I would kill and die for you. Unless of course you don’t love me.” Marco shrugged, seeming a little bit unhinged. Gina shook her head, in front of her was not the man she met and fell in love with. The man in front of her is now someone else, what changed? How did he change? She wasn’t expecting him to. Was it because he almost died, and that she betrayed him? Could those two things altered his personality and mould him into someone this cynical. “I’m not killing him, Marco. I love you, and you need to believe me when I say I do from the bottom of my heart. But killing this innocent guy is not something I’ll do prove my love for you.” Gina declined his demand, never

Chapter 32I stood there, regardless of the situation playing out in front of me. My wife, Lorraine holding my son close to her and restricting him from touching me. Amazement shunned through my eyes, and I tried understanding what was going on. I woke up from my five years coma, and my wife was married to a new man.Not any new man, Richard Wilson of all men in EastVille. As if that wasn’t shocking enough, my son has been legally made his son. And all I own belongs to him, his name, and nothing is left for me. How did this happen, what is going on? “I said get out before I have the security do their job.” Her stern voice cautioned, resoluted with her gaze fiery and the least passive. Her index went as much as pointing out the door. What am I missing here? Five years ago, after the mini burial we held for Kory Anders, my wife got sick and we found out the sickness was caused by the life growing in her womb. I genuinely cared for her, stayed with her and away from anything work.
