Test II

"Where's she?"

He mumbled, looking around. He didn't have to look too far away, 'twasnt like the previous day where he was in the heart of a stadium and the audience were seated on elevated spots. Now, he was standing at the edge of a plank, before a pond, and just few inches away from him were few selected audience to enjoy the show.

He had been told by the king after the previous test that all he had to do was swim through the pond to the other end and pick the gem hung on a peg whose tip stood out.

But knowing that he couldn't trust the words of the king, he had gone to seek the help of the sorceress, Shamaica. Even though that was what he'd hated the most. He had pleaded with her to do whatever she could to help him swim through the pond without getting hurt. Shamaica had told him that nothing goes for nothing. He'd asked her for what she would ask for in return, but she'd told him,

"Time's testing it."
