After hearing Darwin scream, Leo paused. He slowly turned to face Darwin.
“I-I was not-not actually going to run away. I forgot something in the forest,” he stuttered, trying to make an excuse. “Oh really,” Darwin said, as he suddenly appeared in front Leo. Leo gulped hard as he faced Darwin. “I’m so…sorry,” Leo stammered. Darwin sighed, brushing his hand against his hair. “Don’t do it again. You know there are a lot of people who are looking for you. Now, you see the reason why I cannot allow you move to Ivandale,” Darwin spoke, his anger subsiding. “It was just a one-time mistake. It won’t repeat itself again, I promise,” Leo pleaded. “You were partially at fault too, Darwin. You did not warn him,” Varrick defended. Leo nodded in agreement as he continued to glare at Darwin. Darwin looked away and did not mutter a word. He walked up to the front door and closed it behind him. “Will he be fine?” Leo asked, worried about what was going through Darwin’s head. Varrick did not respond. He walked into the house to, leaving Leo. “What’s up with these two?” he thought to himself, following Varrick into the house. Gradually, the sun set and the place began to become dark. Darwin and Varrick till did not mutter a word to Leo. They had gone to their individual rooms, minding their business. Leo sat on the couch in his room, thinking about what had happened. He couldn’t believe that he surged out a great amount of aura when at some point, he had nothing like magic. He looked at his palm and a smile grew on his face. “I’m becoming stronger and slowly, I’ll soon achieve my dreams,” he thought to himself. Suddenly, his room door opened. “Start packing your stuff, we’re leaving tomorrow. As soon as the sun should rise, we should be on our way,” Darwin said. Leo still could not believe it. He jumped out of the chair in joy. “Sure thing, Master Darwin,” Leo replied, excitement lacing through his voice. Darwin glared at Leo. “I hope we’re not making a huge mistake by taking him to Ivandale and enrolling him in Scarlet Magic High School,” Darwin thought to himself, worried and conscious. “It may actually work out, I hope.” Darwin walked out and closed the door behind him. ** It felt like a surge of wind, passing through his body, his soul, his spirit. “You are the next… the next… the next…” the voice repeated, giving him hints. Leo turned on his, uncomfortable. His sleep was being interrupted. Who could be talking to him? The pressure he always felt when the spirit spoke to him always made him uncomfortable. He suddenly woke up, panting. “Who could it be and what is he trying to say?” Leo contemplated, sitting up straight on the bed. Leo began to calm down. He controlled his breathing as he got up from the bed. “I wonder what time it is?” he said, walking up to the curtains and raising it up. The sun was already rising and the birds began to sing. “It’s already mor-” “Leo, it’s time to go,” Varrick said, barging into Leo’s room. “You’re not ready yet?” “I- I am, I’ll be down in a few,” Leo replied, rushing into the toilet. After a few minutes, Leo was ready and he carried his little load outside. “Is that all?” Darwin asked, arranging everyone’s load into the cart which they were to use to travel to Ivandale. “Yes, that’s all,” Leo replied. “Alright then, let’s go,” Varrick responded. They all entered into the cart, which was drawn by two horses and they began their journey to Ivandale. Meanwhile, in the hideout of the Fang of Chaos, a meeting for the 12 chaotic dragons was called. The 12 chaotic dragons are the 12 strongest followers of the dragon king. They are located at various places in Ivandale. A meeting is normally called when either one of them dies or one of them betrays them. The chaotic dragon is divided into two; the lower-ranked and the higher-ranked. The top six are the higher-rank and the remaining six are the lower-rank. The Fang of Chaos receives their instructions from the strongest among the chaotic dragons, Mavin. He was the second in command when the dragon king was still alive. “Lapo was killed? By who?” one of the 12 asked, banging his hand on the table. “Be calm, Elliot,” another one spoke. “What do you mean by I should be calm, Anias. He got himself killed by a nobody,” Elliot responded, anger lacing through his voice. “He was killed by Leo, the son of the Dragon king,” Anias said, crossing his arms and relaxing on his seat. This got the attention of all the other 8 who were already seated for the meeting. “Wait, did you say Leo? I heard his magic orb was sealed of by that woman sage,” Filip, one of the 12 chaotic demons, responded. “Yes, it was but after he met her accomplices, his magical powers began to sip out,” Anias said. “Then, if he’s this strong, how are we meant to capture him,” Elliot questioned. “I think that’s wh-” “That’s what this meeting is about. We need to think of a way to capture him and also, we need to find a replacement for Lapo,” a man walked into the meeting room, his aura malicious and heavy. As he walked in, everyone paid respect by bending their heads over. He walked up to the seat, which was at the center of the meeting table and he sat down. “You can all raise your heads,” he said, taking full authority. “Sir Mavin, what took you so long?” Anias asked, glaring at him. “I had some flies that I needed to teach some lesson too,” Mavin responded. “Now, straight to the point of this meeting. After the death of Lapo, the two sorcerers escorting Leo might make them move back to Ivandale, so that they can avoid a large-scale attack. We need to make a plan to get rid of the sorcerers and how we can lay our hands on Leo.” The meeting on how to get their hands on the only person with the dragon king’s blood became underway.“Finally, I can get back home and rest my head.” Lucas came out of the store where he worked as a part-time cleaner, he was done for the day and wanted to head back home to rest his head. There wasn't much for him to do when he got back home, he had to rest his head. He had five jobs for the next day, “After all that work I need to get a day to sit down and relax. But if I do that then I will be down on payment and stuff. The last thing I want is that stupid landlord to come and throw me out on the streets like I can't do anything.” Lucas kicked an empty can as he walked down the street. He let out a defeated sigh as he kept walking. “Who am I kidding? The man will make sure that I don't even find another house in the city, I have to make sure I don't lose everything I have as a home.” Lucas was not the type of person that would sit back and enjoy a day off. He had been alone since his high school days, he was what people would call a total loser. All of his peers had somethi
Leo was struggling to break free from the orb that he was trapped in. He didn't know how he was going to be able to find a way out of it. Then he heard a massive explosion. Leo turned to see the smoke cloud forming where his house once stood. He was petrified when he realized that the cloud meant that his mother was no more, and he was all that was left of his family. Tears welled up in Leo's eyes, he was looking at the smoke cloud as they kept rising. “Mom, please no.” Leo's words were cut with sobs, “I couldn't do anything to save her, even in this world I am a weak pathetic being.” Leo sat down as the orb carried him away from the scene, looking at their house lying in destruction. The only thing Leo could think of was his past life and when he was still a high schooler. He lived all his life running from everyone and everything, he didn't want to be part of anything. In his former life, he had the name Lucas. He was a frail child neglected by the older people and bullied b
Leo felt a surge of energy going through his body. He was not familiar with that amount of power. Leo was originally bigger and stronger than most children in Lyron, he was some kind of different breed. But Leo never questioned his strength, he was born with it and there was nothing about it that had made him question anything. But it was a bit different now, he had awakened something within him, and he was going to be using his powers to make sure that he didn't die. Leo got up, he was looking at the Orc Bear with pure rage in his eyes and there was no way he would be letting the creature land another blow on him like that. “What is this feeling?” Leo looked at his body. Although it was covered in wounds, he could feel energy and power coming from it. He looked at the Orc Bear as it prepared to charge at him one last time. He didn't know what he was going to do. The Orc Bear charged faster than before, but Leo didn't move this time. “Come on! Show me what you can do!” Leo l
Where Leo’s home stood, a crater was formed and there was no sign of life anywhere close to it. There was no way anyone would have survived an explosion that massive. Above the crater, three beings were hovering there. They resembled the ones that had attacked Leo’s home. “So they failed to bring in Abigail and the core. I wonder what they were thinking when they tried to face Abigail. Did they forget that she was the same person who fought with Vallin? I don't even know why I was stupid enough to let them go for her when I knew that I could have come on my own.” “You thought that there was going to be a chance that they wouldn't slip up, there was nothing there to tell you that you were sending fools to fight in a battle with a warrior you got a scar from. But for her to use a forbidden spell, it meant that she was trying to hide something from us. She also made sure that she killed the three useless soldiers we sent for her. There is no telling what might have been the secret s
Leo was looking at Darwin. He would never have imagined that there was a chance he would meet someone who knew his mother. Leo was looking at Darwin, he was trying to make sure that he didn't even make a mistake. “You knew my mother? You called her name. Do you know her?” Darwin rubbed his head, he didn't even know what he was going to do. He looked at the boy in front of him. He didn't know what he was going to do to make Leo stop asking questions. “If you ask me any other questions I might blow my head away, but there is no way for me to do that.” Darwin looked at Leo. He knew that the boy was still confused and everything was happening all too fast. Leo saw that Darwin was a bit stressed out. He noticed that all his wounds were healed and closed. He was in good condition, and he knew that the man in front of him might have been the one that made sure of that. “Sorry, I don't know what to do, and it's been a strange ride for the past few hours for me. Please tell me how yo
Leo was filled with hope, knowing that there would be a chance for him to become a stronger warrior and make sure he changed his life. “Master Darwin, if I am not mistaken, you also knew my father, right?” Leo smiled as he looked at Darwin. He wanted to learn more about his family before his training began. Darwin looked at Leo, the sad young man he had seen a few minutes ago had vanished, and he was looking at a boy who had hope, and he was going to do anything to make sure that he didn't fall back into depression. “Yes, I knew your father, he was one of the funniest fellows I met. He had a temper, a very nasty one, but when we got to talk to him, it was clear that he was a good guy. But even before we found out that he was a good guy, your mother would always be the one to knock some sense into him.” Darwin smiled as he was telling Leo about his parents. It was a clear sign that he had enjoyed his time with his old companions. Something that would always comfort him. Leo cou
“What do you mean by explode? There has to be an explanation for this, there is no way he is going to explode!” Darwin was looking at Varrick. He was a bit confused on hearing that Leo was going to explode if he tried to break the seal without training. “It means the seal that Abigail put on him is even stronger than a grade five scarlet core seal. For some reason, she wanted to make sure that he was not going to find it easy breaking the seal.” Varrick was looking at Leo. The boy was going to have a hard time thinking about breaking the seals, and it was going to be the hardest thing he could imagine doing. “You mean Abigail used that kind of spell on her son? But what was her reason for even putting it on him? I know that there were people after her, but then that means that there has to be something else she didn't drop in that message.” Darwin was not going to be thinking of what he was going to be doing that quickly. He had promised Leo that he would train him to break the se
The three stepped outside for the match to begin. Leo looked around and saw that they were deep in the heart of the forest and there were critters around there. Leo could feel the mana in the area, he saw that everywhere was filled with magic, and it was clear that there was a huge amount of mana there. “There is a huge amount of mana in the area, so I guess that all this is at the white mana core, right?” Leo looked at his master, he was waiting for Darwin to tell him that he was right. “Well no, the area is filled with Light Blue Mana Core.” He paused to see a defeated look on Leo's face. “Don't feel bad that you didn't get it right, it's not the end of the world. They feel like white mana cores and act like it, but that's one perk of the Heio forests; they don't usually give off what they are. You see, that way there is no one trying to cultivate the entire area for themselves.” Darwin paused when they had reached a particular area, “This is a good spot, it has all the space we
