Elijah was in high spirits after leaving the Carter mansion. He didn't want to return home immediately, so he sought the comfort of the streets. He drove round in circles, just drinking in the city. In fairness, it was a beautiful city.

Thanks to the generosity, or rather the disguised generosity from the elites. They had to make it look like the billions they were hoarding did something no matter how little for the community. It was laughable in earnest, but not to the poor who literally ate from their hands.

His first stop was prestige hotel. As his car came to a halt in front of the building, he peeked through his windows. It had been lit up for the night. It's name shining brightly and boldly, on top the two story building.

He knew every corner of this hotel. After all, it was a place that used to be dear to him and his wife.

"Wife."

Just saying out loud sounded crazy. It seemed like a lifetime ago he was married and content. His union with Rhonda didn't sterm from love.

Rhonda didn't appreciate having to come out by this time of the day. Damn near half of the City where already asleep, while the nightwalkers where out and about doing God knows what. She preferred herself a day walker, than mingling with uncertainties in the dead of the night. However, as Colin approached her where she stood, she adorned the brightest smile she could muster. In truth it was half, and shaky, but it was the best she could do."Hey." He went in for a hug, but she was gunning for a handshake. Amidst an awkward clash, came nervous laughter. "Hey." She responded with an outstretched hand.He nodded in understanding of having lost this one. "I'm glad you came on such short notice." He replied, taking her hands in his, and planting a gentle kiss on it."My mum said it's important. There was no talking my way out of it." She confessed. He gave her a smile that told her he sympathized with her, and surprisingly, it warmed her heart. "Shall we then?" He was saying when,

Elijah returned home after midnight. He was too tired to do anything. Nudging his head in acknowledgement of Snow, who opened his eyes long enough to see the sudden footsteps were from the owner of the house, he went straight to his bedroom. He had barely touched the bed when he drifted into a dreamless sleep. However, as soon as the light of dawn came, he found himself in a different world. It started out with numerous voices talking at the same time in his head. The strange world a cave like space, but with different eyes serving as it's walls. With every turn, he saw himself in those eyes. His exterior as calm as a dove, but within he panicked. The voices began screaming. They howled in pain, and laughter. The result of the opposing mixture, a desire to get out. And so he found himself running. But every curve was a dead end. The eyes grew larger, watching him as he watched himself. "Stop it!" He found himself crying within. For some unknown reason, his voice wouldn't come

Colin Trust was about to step out of the house, when his phone rang. He smiled when he saw the ID, and instantly picked. Pressing the phone to his ears, his smiled widened. "Kingston Luxe." He said, in place of the usual hello."I want you to tell the cops Elijah attacked me." Kingston, following the theme of no pleasantries, screamed from the other end of the line."Whoa, calm down screech! I thought we've settled this already?""Like hell we have! I want to see that good for nothing bastard rotting in jail." He spat violently into the phone.Colin withdrew the phone from his ears briefly. Slapping the surface of the ears with his palm, he brought the phone back. "Maybe you didn't understand what that good for nothing bastard said. You will be going to jail too if you report him.""I won't, and you know that. I can buy my freedom. Something that idiot can't do."Colin was tickled by how much venom Kingston reserved for Elijah. His father held the same anger towards the man too.

"Where are we going again?" Tobias asked, fastening his seatbelt as Elijah started the car."To Crawford laboratory." He replied in a serious voice."What!" Tobias' eyes bulged when he realized what he had just said."You heard me." He shrugged, driving out of his compound."Why do you make these impulsive decisions? What if someone sees us and figures out you're Dr Bane's son?""And how's that going to happen?" He asked, his eyes glued to the road."I don't know. It could just happen.""It won't. It's no secret I used to work for Dr Banes. Going to the lab is not weird at all.""But we need a permit to be admitted in," He suddenly sat up in excitement. "Are you going to use your powers? You know, teleport us in." He asked, grinning from ear to ear.Elijah took his eyes off the road long enough to give him a reproaching look. "Do you just say everything in your mind? You know my powers are locked in the ring." He hissed, returning his attention to the road."I know." He fro

“Leave me alone. Just go away,” Elijah muttered over and over again, as he scraped the walls of his cell with his fingers. It had gotten dark, and everytime it was dark, the voices got louder and more menacing.“Elijah?!” The most off-putting of all the voices sounded. He knew who he belonged to, but he couldn't quite place it. His mind was too disorganised.“Leave me alone,” he begged.“Why? You don't want to be reminded of your sins? I thought you were a self righteous prick!”“I didn't do it,” he shook his head continuously. “I didn't. An accident. She did it. She caused it.”Darius laughed. “But no one that matters knows. In the papers, you're a murderer. You need to see the paper stands, and the news on the city's projector screens. They're all carrying your face and your crime. Maybe you should have publicised your healing abilities. If you had, the, would have been more inclined to support you.” he laughed maniacally.“I'm innocent. The more he tried to keep them away, the more they laughed and mocked him.“Do you know how many people you killed?” Another baritone voice began in a singsong tone.“Not one,” one shrieked.“Not even two,” another thundered.“Not five either,” a third chirped.“So many!” The first voice screamed and broke into a feat of laughter.“No, I didn't mean to. It was a mistake. A setup. Please. Mercy!” He begged, and cried.“No, you did! You put on the ring when you knew how blood thirsty it was. You wanted this. She just wanted to help.“You listen to me,” he spoke through his bringing the ring to his face. “You're not going to keep doing whatever the fuck you want to do. Elijah drove to a stop in front of the Trusts mansion.“There's a way we can play this off without alerting Colin's boys. But if you want to go the badass route, then we can just walk in.”“What way?” Elijah asked, his trouble sensing tingling.“With your tongue shoved down my throat. They'd think we're in heat and just want to make love. Without any questions asked, they would open the door and let us in.”“No!” He said, immediately she was done.“Okay, Mr God. Chill with the outburst. It was only a suggestion. It's either that, or we go in together. If we do, there's a chance one of them might recognize you and report back to Colin. Are you willing to risk that?”“I'm already here. I don't care if anyone recognizes me or not. All I want to do is get in there, take the herb, and get out.”“You say it like it's that easy,” she said, withdrawing her legs from the dashboard. “Doesn't it take a whole process? Or are you willing to risk the ring working against you?”“The ring feeds on vi

But I’m bored and down for anything, so let’s do it.” Avery shrugged. “That’s the spirit!” she pumped her fist, then turned to Elijah. “You?” she asked, eyeing him gently as she waited for his response.“Do I have a choice?”“No!” Both Avery and Winnie screamed in unison.“Fine.” He threw his hands into the air in surrender. Colin knows that you’re a god.”“What!” he raised his brow, temporarily startled?“I had to tell him about us, because he pretty much figured out the basics. Anyway, that’s not even the case right now. If you don’t find a way to sneak into the house soon, he’s going to set you up so bad when the time comes, I’m afraid you may not be able to escape the ambush.”He let her words sit in his head for a few minutes. His biggest enemy at the moment was time. By all indications, Colin planned on using the next weekend for his fundraiser. This would make it exactly one week from today. In a way, he could admit Avery was right. He had to move fast if he wanted to thwart C
