Chapter 3: The East (1)

"Did you find it?"

Myru picked up her own food because he told Ben to get a couple of books and news and other information about this world. Ben always explained to him about the ins and outs so that Myru didn't have to be tired of looking for it himself. Still, he was quite curious about some of the other topics.

The book that Ben had just brought was a book about non-human beings. Myru needed this information to find out about what types there were.

"I'll walk around for a while, you rest."

Arditian didn't want to admit this. However, if he was destined to die in this place, it was good to know more about this world. The novel "Journey to Defeat the Demon King" it did not explain much about the Velreidom family, surely because the family had already been destroyed and almost wiped out at the beginning of the story. For now, he learned the basic information about the kingdom of Hex. The territories and the lords in each territory were detailed.

In the first volume, it was briefly explained about the Duke of the East, the marquess of Vilreidom was one of the people under the Duke of the East.

The maids did a good job cleaning the house. There was not a single leaf on the lawn as it had just been cleaned. Myru walked leisurely while reading the history book of his residence slowly. Hex Kingdom's anniversary hasn't happened yet, which means there's still about a year left for this place to fall to pieces.

I still have plenty of time, but I should have started to find out when Colim - the main character - came to this place. While turning page after page, Myru kept thinking.

Wow, it looks like Marquez Velreidom has quite a long history, every time you turn the page it tells you about the previous warring era that was created about a hundred years ago.

To think a historical family like this disintegrated... maybe it was about time.

Myru once wondered what her biological mother looked like, but could not see a picture of her at all. The reason was that his mother decided to live outside the mansion away from her family to live with her lover.

Arditian himself did not know who that was. Only the real Myru knew what his parents were like.

"Don't cry! I'll definitely get it for you okay?"

Myru's steps slowed down.

"B - but... you'll get hurt if you grab it."

"It's yours. So I'll get it for you no matter what, don't cry okay?"

Two young siblings hugged each other close to the trees. Myru watched his two younger siblings. Little Somi with her ponytail hugged her twin Romi. One hand stroked her brother's back while the other held a wooden sword.

"It's a gift from my brother, what if he broke it?" Roni said, sobbing.

Of course, the sibling didn't mean the gift is from Myru. He remembered there was still one more person. The first son who was currently serving in the kingdom of Hex for the temporary Refire Velreidom who would run this family after Marquess Marko.

Myru pretty much knew what he looks like from seeing his picture.

"Somi will get it!"

"But Somi, the Dean is older than us."

"Don't worry, I have a sword.!" Somi showed her wooden sword proudly to Roni who wiped away tears.

The boy shook his head. "Roni doesn't want Somi to get hurt, it's okay."

Leaving them alone, Myru walked again in the other direction. The yard was quite large, so it was not uncommon for him to run into other people.

His gaze then fell on a group of children who were giggling while holding a magic tool. Like a toy, they were swinging it back and forth.

"Ah, there they are."

Myru was silent as he watched. It seemed that her younger sibling was not someone who often told stories to her parents. If not for that, the Dean who was the youngest son of the Viscount would not behave like this to the son of the Marquess.

Unless he was a brat.

The boys' laughter stopped when Myru stood beside them with a smile.

"Hi."

"Ah, it's the marquess' fake son! What are you doing here!"

The kid holding his little brother's magic wand yelled while pointing at him. Myru shook his head. Turns out he's just a little rascal. Just look at the other kids when they find out that I'm the troublemaker and stare in horror while staying away, only that idiot dares to challenge while pulling out a sword from the side of his shirt.

This bastard, he bullied Roni and Somi with a real sword? He's even older than them.

Hey, shouldn't we go?"

"That's right, my dad said he's always causing trouble."

"My dad said to run away if you see him."

The way people look at him is awful.

"I'm not scared!" except for this kid who loudly pointed his sword at me.

Didn't their parents teach them not to give dangerous objects to kids?

"I'm not afraid of people who wet their pants at night because their mom didn't go to bed with them."

Myru retorted quickly. The boy's face turned red and a few moments later his friends mocked him.

"I'm not! He's lying!"

"Really? Then do you know the fairy tale about the statue you've been sitting on?"

All the children's eyes turned around, looking at the lion statue they were playing with.

"What's so good about this ugly statue?"

"Don't you know? If you put your hands in there, something will hold your hands back from that place.

A red stream of blood will come out of the statue's mouth if you keep holding it and the next day you will vanish and turn into a mere statue."

'That's not true, you're lying." Yes, he was lying. How would this kid know?

"If so, why didn't you try to put it in?"

"Who's scared?"

Just as the child was about to touch the statue's head, Myru shouted. "Don't! You'll really die!"

"What? Don't shout at me!"

"What if you get possessed by a fire and turn into a statue when you hold it?

"People always leave this statue alone and don't clean it for fear of the curse, you must know that this statue is the most dirty of all."

The children looked surprised and began to believe Myru's words.

Myru then whispered. "I'm just saying this but... this statue only targets children to prey on."

Their eyes were scared when that was said.

"Hey, shouldn't we leave?"

"I'm sure she's just lying."

"You're sure I'm lying?"

Their eyes went to Myru as a sinister glare was directed at all of them. "Then try, put your hand in."

Shuddering, they all looked at each other.

" He's lying..." Immediately he quickly picked up his hand and put it in. The boy screamed and fell backward.

"Someone's holding me!"

The boy's eyes widened in fear when he saw the blood coming out of the lion statue's mouth.

"KYAAAAAA"

"AAA"

"'Help'!"

The boy tried to grab his friend "Don't come close! You are cursed!"

They all avoided the little brat. Frightened, he looked back at the statue, just then Myru whispered to him.

"Now, soon you will see the lion ghost and turn into a statue unless you get into the fountain water and beg the statue perhaps it might forgive you."

The boy cried, he looked back at his hands and the blood that kept dripping from the statue's lips made him cry.

"Where are you going?

I nodded when the boy ran away. Teasing a child is easy. My hand then moved towards the statue and observed the blood that continued to drip endlessly.
