Chapter 6: Bottomless Valley (1)

Day two in the morning. Myra woke up in the guesthouse that Velreidom had reserved. Quickly getting ready with Ben's help, Myru then went downstairs, towards the lobby as well as the dining room.

Seen there, the knights were sitting together with the other guests, there... the Marquess and Marquis were sitting together along with the twins.

Myru thought that he might as well go there.

"I'm so scared, Last night our brother's carriage was broken in the middle of the road and his treasure got taken away under the bandits. Fortunately, my brother's life is safe and he is now resting."

A customer vented, sadness filling his face. Another person spoke. "Hah! That's why I told you and your brother to hire a knight! Your brother since yesterday has been stubborn. He keeps thinking that the Boundless Abyss region will always be safe, even though there have been three cases three times in that place and its surroundings!"

I glanced at Ben. "What is it?"

As expected of Ben he answered quickly and concisely so that it was easy to understand.

"It's a road that you have to take if you want to go to the Duchy from the direction of Velreidom.  It's a large area surrounded by ravines and mountains. It's a safe place because there's nothing there and there are guards there.

The last month there seems to be a group of bandits working together, they are making a ruckus to find prey elsewhere." he replied quickly.

Oh, that's pretty clever.

The bandits seemed to be luring security guards in different places to break up the guards and reduce their strength.

"Are we gonna be okay?" I mumbled."Don't worry young master! Of course, Master Myru will be fine as we will continue to guard. Don't underestimate the power of Velreidom and the troops that will take young master wherever it is!"

The vice-captain suddenly appeared from the side, a bottle of alcohol in his hand, Why would he say that confidently while drunk?

The vice-captain followed my line of sight and stutteringly hid the bottle behind his body. "Young master, if you start acting up again because you're too drunk at a time like this it doesn't seem like a good idea!"Step by step the vice-captain began to retreat frantically, while shaking his head several times.

"I don't have such thoughts,"

'But since just now the young master has been looking behind my back."

Oh, do I?

The vice-captain of Velreidom's first squad looked at me with some misgivings.

"The Marquess has ordered us to guard and not carry alcohol so that the young master does not secretly drink."

If that's what the Marquess told you to do, then do it properly, and don't drink in front of me right now.

What can I say, I've been wanting to taste alcohol for quite some time. In Arditian's home country, Indonesia, alcohol is hard to find, and the price is quite expensive.

(In that country, the majority of the population was Muslim and drinking was forbidden by the religion) Rather than buying a drink like that, Arditian would rather buy a chicken and rice that would fill him up for the day.

Myru asked Ben when he could have a drink, but Ben just smiled at him and took him to the table for breakfast.

What a pity.

The Marquess asked me if I hadn't caused any trouble and I answered in the affirmative. As the sun began to rise again, the whole army was told to get ready.

Myru was already in the carriage with her twin sister when the journey started again. Roni and Somi were now playing again, they were much more relaxed than yesterday probably because they knew that Myru would not be angry with them. The journey went quietly and steadily until the vice-captain finally informed them that the train would be traveling faster this time to avoid any untoward incidents. Roni stared out the window with excitement.

"Some look at that! When I grow up I'll use magic to go down there and find out what's inside!"Following the eyes of the two children, Myru looked out the window.

A strange scene comes into sight. From there, you could see a ravine, and across the ravine was a forest with huge trees. It looks like it's untouched by humans.

Ben had said to Myru before this journey began.

"Behind that forest, there's nothing, just monsters and monsters, and then after that, there's the ocean. The forest is very protected from the dangerous sea and the cliff. It's like it has a life of its own."

As creepy as it sounds, actually... if I'm honest that place is quite beautiful, especially the Boundless Abyss which is currently glowing at the edges, the ground at the edges contains dead crystals. But if you stare into the abyss, only darkness is in sight."I will fight with monsters!" said Somi excitedly, she took out a wooden sword from inside her.

Myru nodded a few times "Yeah you guys can do it"That remark made the twins happy uncontrollably, Roni's silver eyes then looked at her brother. "Brother Myru, are you interested too?"

Myru thought for a while. This is a story in a novel and there are many secrets in the ravine and forest.

"Yes."

"When I grow up I will take Brother Myru to fly down to see the contents of the abyss!"

"Yes, yes! And I will help to protect you two from any strange monsters on the way."

Myru blinked a few times, just yesterday the two of them had been nervous and scared to be around her and now they were chatting normally like brothers.

The child looked hopeful and excited. The side of Myru's lips lifted to look at the two.

"Yes, please help this weak me."

Somi and Roni immediately looked at each other.

Roni opened her mouth first.

"You're not weak! The proof is that you managed to make the bad guys who disturbed us not come again!" He immediately stood up and almost fell if he didn't hold on.

The train was still running and of course, the surface was unstable."Even though you don't have magic and swordsmanship, you're strong! You're great!" Some replied quickly.

Myra didn't know what happened to these two people. In just a short time they seemed to be by her side and supporting her.

Myru wondered how badly the real Myru treated them so that one good thing like this made the two kids like them encourage me sincerely.

There was a sudden shock. Some held on to the chair while Roni who was still standing tumbled over, Myru helped Roni and pulled him to hold on.

Then after that, there was a shout from outside

WATCH OUT FOR BANDIT!
