More than one time, Bin did not deign answer and that made Doctor Chan Wu chuckled. The middle-aged man didn’t insist, he just got up and left the laboratory, after all, he’s as tired as Emilia and his slow steps, tired face, and wobbling body were more than enough proof for that.

Bin wasn’t left alone for that long as the door burst open and three girls entered, each of them holding a cold soda and busy chitchatting.

“Why are you back?”

“What do you mea-”

Jasmine burst out in laughter, not even finishing her sentence. She pointed at Bin’s head and said a few inaudible words to Melissa and Rika, who giggled.

“What’s so funny?”

Early morning, before the break of Dawn, Bin wandered to the roof, wanting to spend some time alone. Emilia and Chan Wu were periodically looking after him and barely let him do anything. Even moving or getting up from the bed seemed to alarm his mother, who constantly warned him to rest and prepare for today’s examination.Chan Wu already contacted some of his friends and colleagues for the necessary parts for the artificial- and hopefully working- eye he’s going to implant in Bin.Sure, Bin could live without an eye but it’s too disadvantageous to have a blind spot. Furthermore, the current technology rendered it possible to produce an artificial eye that is as functionally efficient as a normal, if not more. The darkened canopy was slowly bei

  • Life as A Servant   Chapter 354 : Secret Lover

The second day of treatment and examination was just as boring and the first one, if not more. Bin had to lay on bed for no less than ten hours, and watch as Head Scientist Emilia and Chan Wu cut some of his body, closely inspecting his still-crystallized blood vessels. The gaping hole in his chest was patched up, more or less, with the use of solid silver, making it look less frightening and more pleasant. The conversation Rika and Bin had at dawn was kept a secret between the two of them, however, the former did tell her friends that Bin finally relented and agreed to compromise, even by a little bit. When he had stopped being so defensive and a ‘jerky’ as Rika said, Bin already anticipated that he’ll constantly get annoyed by the three of them, especially Jasmine Lemore, his former employer.

  • Life as A Servant   Chapter 355 : The Eye

“Can you see? Is it working?”Doctor Chan Wu excitedly rubbed his hands and leaned his face closer to Bin, more than necessary, in fact. His twinkling eyes were stared fixedly at the youth’s face, or more precisely, his new artificial eye. Unlike the silver prosthetic arm, Bin’s new eye looked identical to the real one but it functioned a bit differently.“There’s a lot of stuff going on.”“Of course there are! Hahaha” Chan Wu was beaming with joy and jumping on his chair like a little kid. Emilia too, was faintly smiling, she was relieved that the process of implanting the eye- which is none too easy- was smooth-sailing and utterly void of any complication.&ldq

“Once we’re done with this… unnecessary introduction, I’ll take you to him.” Bert swept his eyes across the six of them, falling lastly on Cecile.“But I’ll take only you.”“The whole team must be close to the target.” Coldly said Iris, snorting and crossing her arms.“I don’t care. I know what happened in the desert and I’m not taking potential enemies to him. Let’s just say I’m afraid for their lives…”“What’d you say?!” Cecile burst out in anger, her hands balled into tight fists and her Mana fluctuating in the air.“Mister Bert

“Che! Why didn’t you let me pay?”Jasmine, just like earlier, stubbornly insisted on paying for all the clothes but she was ignored. Bin handed the black credit card Paul provided him and paid for everything. In the end, he bought some of the clothes he liked and, though reluctantly, did the same for everything Jasmine picked. As much as he didn’t like to admit it, the girl had a good and fashionable sense and everything she picked for him was suitable and good-looking.He was also to get rid of the ugly headband, replacing it with a normal black hat that did a good job in covering the hole in his forehead. Technically, there was no longer a hole as Emilia and Chan Wu filled the two sides with a solidified substance that slightly resembled his skin color, nonetheless, it remained awfully conspicuous and

“You look… different.”It took Elise a minute or so to calm down and thoroughly scrutinize her brother. Though she didn’t notice that one of his eyes was actually artificial, it was a different case for the silver prosthetic arm, which only the hand portion of it was visible.“You do too.” Bin chuckled and leaned his head closer.Elise’s hair had grown taller and she looked more mature and beautiful. Although they were twins and definitely had similar eyes and noses, Bin couldn’t help but sigh. Yes, he wasn’t ugly, but he wasn’t handsome either. His sister, on the other hand, looked prettier every day and though she refuses to admit it, it was clear that she started to take care of her appearance. He even spotted s

Fortunately, she didn’t have to live with the rest of her teammates… in fact, each member can live wherever he or she wants but only as long as they are relatively close to each other so they can respond quickly if there is an emergency.Bin returned to school but he didn’t apologize to Hyeon, who he had beaten half-dead and secretly stole his inborn ability.Ever since his ‘discharge’ from the clinic, it could be said that Bin’s relationship with Melissa, Rika, and Jasmine became much better. He no longer shunned them but he also didn’t go out of his way to greet them. Basically, it was either Jasmine or Rika who would walk up to him and start a conversation, though it was mostly regarding boring and time-wastin

Jack, just like Elise, has recently joined the Omega Team of Abyss, but it was entirely his choice. He had to choose between confinement or working so he chose the latter, clearly. Though young, he’s one of the handful of people who survived after battling Queen, going as far as inflicting one or two wounds to her before he was defeated.Essentially, he is a scientist before a magic-user so even though his ability is particularly strong, he’s not a good fighter. Nevertheless, he managed to survive near-fatal hits and was later captured by Abyss, questioned months before he was finally released. Finally, he had time to pay a visit to Emilia, who was his ex-boss and a close friend of his. Bin’s eyes fluttered then slowly opened. He felt weight on his thighs and chest and when he looked down, he saw Jasmine sound asleep. She had a habit of hugging him in the middle of sleep and half of her body would be pressed against his. It has been a year and a half since they started dating and the embarrassment of sleeping naked or half-naked was no more. Their relationship only got better and they even moved to a new place with Nina, though it wasn’t far from Emilia and Elise. He wasn’t interested in getting a proper job, nevertheless, he did find an entertaining habit, which was quickly developed. With Jasmine’s support and Bert’s countless acquaintances, Bin had opened a cozy small café in a relatively empty street. It wasn’t the best of locations, but he did not care. Bin was fo

However, the most eye-catching thing was the crimson crack hanging in the sky, its blood-red light outshining even the sun. Its mere presence brought for a foreboding and eerie atmosphere as well as a thick fog of the same color. Although well-equipped, the Russian Government did not act recklessly or rashly. They kne

    Chapter 499 : Respite

“Sorry for the wait.”-Angelica “It’s fine.” Replied Bin as he sat back down next to Jasmine and smiled at her parents. While they discussed things, he spent some time chatting with the servants and managed to clear things up with Hyue. It was a good decision to come here and mend past relationships now that he was moving on and turning a new leaf. Unlike earlier, Theodore looked calmer but he was still glaring at him. As for Angelica, her expression was never-changing and, as always, unreadable. “My husband and I are not against your relationship, Bin. I only ask that you take good care of her.” “It shall be done, Madam.” “It better do! If I hear

The trip back home felt brief as they talked on the way, but when they reached their destination, the two were silent.“If you have nothing to do, let’s meet tomorrow.” Suggested Bin as he looked at the white-haired Silver Dragon.Of course, Jasmine agreed with a meek nod. As he was about to get off, she abruptly stretched her arm and grabbed his, thus making him halt his actions.“Jasmine?”

Late at night, after the family had dinner and everyone retreated to their rooms, Bin went downstairs and, as he had expected, found Emilia in the kitchen. She absent-mindedly looked at the dining table and not even his arrival was noticed. Only when he pulled a chair and sat right next to her did she twitch and look at him. “Mother, you’re still worried?” He faintly smiled and gently grasped her hands, which eased the frown on her face. “How can I not be when my son refuses to listen to reason? Everytime, I get to see you for a brief time and then you leave.” “

But, I think it’s better to wait till you come home.” Elise, fidgeting, peeled an orange while uttering those vague words. “It would have been better if you stayed silent.” “I was just warning you. When Bin finally regained his consciousness and opened his eyes, he found himself in an overly-extravagant and spacious hospital room. He took a couple of seconds to look around before slowly sitting up.He wasn’t particularly injured and the overwhelming exhaustion he was subjected to prior and after opening the portal was completely gone, fortunately.“Bin.”Somewhat softly called out to him, thus did his gaze jump to the source of the voice. He was facing Elise, Emilia, and, unexpectedly, the now grown-up Ryne. The three were sitting on a wide leather sofa and chatting quietly only to be startled by his sudden awakening. His mother ran to his side and supported him, fearing that he was experiencing pain. Chapter 494 : The Coming Of The End (2)

“Hurry up, Bin!” Although she was fending off the horde of Pests, Jasmine could not fight forever. She remained close to Bin and continuously swung her sword at any incoming enemies. At the same time, Bin was strengthening his connection with the white crystal. Slowly but surely, a gentle wave of white light flowed from within his body and started taking the shape of a human-sized portal. Unfortunately, Jasmine was reaching her limits and ended up getting blasted far away. Her body crashed on the ground and rolled a couple of times. Although she hastily got back on her feet and ran back, it wasn’t fast enough to stop the Pests from reaching Bin. With all his concentration focused on the connection, Bin could not defend him
