Thunder rumbled in the dark skies above the desolate lands of Sevarna. Countless bodies lay mutilated on the blood-tinted earth, while the sounds of swords clashing rang out relentlessly.

'Today was a day that would be forever marked in history…'

A skinny golden-haired boy scrambled to his feet, his silver eyes radiating in a soft glow and his slender hands wrapped around an exquisite red sword that was as huge as himself.

'This was a day that would be forever embedded in the river of time and age…'

Before the gold-haired boy were dozens of heavily armoured skeletons with a bright red flame flaring in their eye sockets, their toothless mouths gaped to reveal the entrance to the endless darkness.

[Player Arthur! Continuation with this quest will result in death, and failure results in the death of the last person that loves you in this world!]

'After being betrayed by the world I gave up my life for…'

[Your Health is less than 10%, It is advisable to abort the quest…]

'After losing my soul to the ones I loved the most…'

The blue-haired boy gave out a dry chuckle as he lifted his head, fully revealing a face ridden with injuries and eyes burning with the desire to do battle.

'I must fight to protect the last person in the world who didn't betray my trust…'

The armoured skeletons roared upon feeling the fighting spirit raging out from their target. Like a band of mindless robots, they threw themselves upon Arthur, the blue-haired boy.

'Although I'm weak and I'm just as an arrow on the end of its flight path…'

Laying behind Arthur was a little girl with long silver hair covered in fresh bruises. Her long red dress was long torn, revealing parts of the whiteness underneath.

'I will fight until there's nothing left of me!'

Arthur leaped forward, hacking with all his might at the nearest skeleton. Instantly splitting into halves with his sword in an explosion of blue flames.

The other skeletons roared in fury at the death of their comrade before charging over madly and attacking Arthur from every possible angle they could. Their movements were nimble, and ferocious, going directly for the kill.

'I will fight for the last thing I love in this world!'

Arthur roared as he lunged towards his next target, his eyes radiating in a faint silver hue. His entire energy reserve which was less than 2% of his natural energy reserve exploded forth in waves.

[Slaughter Mode Activated!]

[All attack-related skills have doubled and fighting strength increased!]

After hacking his way past dozens of Skeleton Guards, Arthur whose eyes were glowing red continued to hack at the enemies relentlessly, taking them out one by one.

Even if we have to die… I'll take down hundreds of you with me! Sounds cliche? I don't care!

During his state of absolute slaughter and bloodlust, his eyes contracted and his entire body tightened. His sword swiped faster, sending more skeletons to the netherworld.

"Arthur!"

When Arthur heard the scream, his entire body froze and his heart tightened.

"Boom!"

In an explosion of light, a large javelin congregated out of blood, and bones shot through Arthur's chest, stabbing through his heart and pulling out through his back.

[Player Arthur Received Critical Hit!]

[Regeneration Process unable to be initiated due to low energy!]

"Heh, Little kitty… try not to die too early alright? When I reincarnate, I'll raze this place to the ground…" Arthur said as a tear drop ran down the side of his face.

Feeling his heart getting stabbed through, an indescribable pain ripped him apart and all the muscles in his body tightened. Biting back and swallowing a blood-curdling scream, Arthur turned around and flashed a grin at the young girl behind him.

"Little Sylvia… Don't reincarnate as a demonic beast again… Or I might kill you… Continuously, until you reincarnate as a human…" Arthur spoke while taking deep breaths within sentences. His endurance was already through the roof, he was trying not to die too easily.

The silver-haired girl screamed as he collapsed down to the ground with his face contorted in pain. Swiping her hands, a grey claw materialised out of energy splitting the skeleton into multiple halves.

In the pool of his blood with his eyes wide open and vision dimming, Arthur watched as the girl he was trying to protect tried her best to stop the skeletons from getting to his body.

He watched as she hacked and slashed, his vision giving way to the darkness.

'But, maybe I am still too weak and naive for this world… Maybe I just need to rest for some years…' Arthur felt weak, the last thing he saw was an explosion of light coming from the girl and his body weakened.

[Player Arthur… you are dead. Your soul has been transported into the Realm Of Reincarnation]

'Or maybe I should stop this life of conquest and live a peaceful and fulfilled life with the true people I love…'

At that moment, when the greatest human on earth fell. Chaos descended upon the earth once again, and the gates to other worlds and dimensions were once again opened.

'Realm Of Reincarnation…'

He didn't need to think much to know where he was for he had been here countless times. This was the Realm Of Reincarnation, where the greatest of creatures get the chance to reincarnate back into their chosen worlds with any form they'd like.

'A second chance… I accept!'

——

Arthur opened his eyes to find himself floating in a vast starry space with countless creatures including humans in their spirit forms moving from one point to another. When he looked down, he saw his body was white and he could see through his hands.

Not wasting time admiring his surroundings or his ghostly body, Arthur's eyes flashed and a serious expression surfaced on his face.

"Open Reincarnation Panel…"

Arthur muttered to himself, having great familiarity with the way things worked here in the Path Of Reincarnation. He swept his gaze across the vast and endless void full of stars, and a pained smile revealed itself on his lips.

After everything, rising from zero to hero, and becoming powerful, everything went down the drain. This made him realise that strength was nothing if you couldn't harness and utilise it.

<[Reincarnation Panel]>

[Create Form] » [Chose World] » [Naming] » [Finalise Creation] » [Reincarnate]

Arthur sighed as he began the process of reincarnation. Waving his hands and dragging the transparent silver screen that read [Reincarnation Panel] to the side, he was greeted by a new influx of screens.

<[Select New Race]>

'Demi-dragon…'

[Select Recessive Blood]

'Supreme Human…'

'Human.' Arthur clenched his fists. He was a half-dragon in his past life, and he still wanted to remain that way especially if he could do so. Unlike the Little Cat, his reincarnation is not randomised.

[Other Features?]

Arthur sighed as he began to alter some of his body parts, his eyes radiating a weak glow as he altered some distinctive features in contrast to his former body

<[Set Features]>

[Hair - Gold]

[Eyes - Silver]

[Skin Tone - White Jade]

[Facial Features Rating - Above Average]

[Body Figure - Masculine]

[Accept?]

'Yes.' Arthur nodded slightly as he loosened his clenched fist, relaxing his body as he lowered his droopy eyelids. He was growing tired…

<[Chose World]>

'Sevarna…'

<[Choose Name]>

'Arthur.' Arthur's eyes flashed as he got closer and closer to the second chance he wanted… a peaceful life.

[New Form Created! Transplanting Soul!]

[Soul Grade - Strong!]

[System compatible with the chosen world! Magical affinity is compatible with the chosen world! Supreme Qi compatible with the chosen world! Body changes compatible with the chosen world!]

[Reincarnation Process… Begun!]

Arthur closed his eyes and clenched his fists even tighter, the soft sound of his knuckles cracking wasn't heard though - Why? Because he was now in an energy form, and he no longer had a tangible body.

'A second chance!'

Arthur pushed open the cyan door which was left unlocked with a smile, greeted by the serene sight of a tidy and clean room. Sitting on the sofa was a tall slender woman wearing a long loose-fitting garment. Hearing the familiar voice, the blue-eyed woman turned her head to gaze at the newcomer. "Arthur? So, to prevent things like that, he would shut away all light, and riddle his room with multiple defensive runes and magic circles. Arthur landed gracefully on the ground just a few metres away from the crazed Lionake. Its head was cleaved in two, and it was regenerating at a slower pace than earlier. "Damn it! It wasn't so tough when I used to trash it effortlessly in the past!" Arthur frowned deeply, his energy was depleted but regenerating slowly, but it wasn't enough. Unless he wanted to feed himself to the beast, he needed to be decisive. "Don't worry Arthur, I'll attack it too! We'll all end it here!" Drake shouted as he dashed forward at a crazed speed, dragging his sword behind him as he closed up the distance between the Lionake and himself. Arthur had promised himself to breakthrough to the next level, and he is still disciplining his tired self to get active and advance. "Arthur, you haven't been taking down any of the Lionakes. Aaron has been stealing most of your kills for a long while now." Felicia threw a glance in Arthur's direction, and raised her brow, "Are you okay? You still look a bit pale."
