Beep Beep - Beep Beep!

Arthur woke up with an unwilling grunt. His hair was as messy and unkempt as that of a bird's nest while his eyelids were heavy, and lowered due to fatigue.

Fortunately, he had shut his windows in advance or the light from the morning sun would have gave him an irritating experience. He remembered days when he opened his eyes to a blinding sunlight.

He would be literally blinded for a few seconds due to his inability to defend himself in his short state of muddle headedness. So, to prevent things like that, he would shut away all light, and riddle his room with multiple defensive runes and magic circles.

Like a sloth god, a muddle-headed and groggy Arthur groped blindly around the room for directions, bumping into the edge of his wardrobe twice before finding his way out of the room.

"Morning Mother, I'm going out today… I might be back in a day or two." Arthur rubbed his eyes and then yawned loudly, attracting the caring gaze of his mother.

"Morning sunshine, haven't you been sleeping alright? As for leaving, you'll have to tell me where you're going first." Celicia said as she sized up her son, noticing he was slightly losing weight. Without a caring personality towards her son, she was forced to use the skill on Arthur.

After reading a summary of Arthur's stats and staring at the level of fatigue he had, Celicia's warm and caring gaze turned ice cold. Lowering her eyes to the pack of popcorn beside her, Celicia's warm aura turned cold and murderous.

Arthur who felt the sudden change in the aura of his mother felt a sharp sense of imminent danger. Before he knew it, a single popcorn was hurled at him.

Although the popcorn seemed small and weak, when hurled with considerable strength by an evolved human above Level 10, it becomes very destructive.

Arthur held up his hands to catch it, but because he was too tired, his arm was blasted down by the force.

Although some may think that this was normal since a level 4 couldn't catch a piece of popcorn flying at them with such power, only those extremely close to Arthur would take note of the minor details.

Even if Arthur was at level 4, as the son of a dragon with his dragon genes dominant, his strength was terrifying compared to his peers. All that being said, he should have been able to catch the popcorn without suffering any backlash.

"No need to tell me anything… You're not going into any dungeons today. Not without resting for a bit." Celicia coldly spoke as she glared at her son with a frown on her face. She had already picked up another popcorn and held it with her thumb and index finger.

"Mother… I'm fine. Just a bit tired, I'll rest on the way to the dungeon… I promise!" Arthur smiled softly under the cold gaze of his mother. If it was some other person, he would have fought his way out… but, this is his mother.

Not only was he not strong enough, but he was unable to bring himself to fight his mother over a stupid dungeon. A dungeon that he should be levels greater than, something so minute.

"…"

"Arthur… I can't lose you like I lost that idiot. You don't have to push yourself too much for strength."

Celicia said as her cold demeanour softened in an instant, "Don't be like your no good father- always striving for power and glory when you have a family to look after."

"I won't be like my father, and I definitely won't leave you. But, I'll have to get a bit stronger than others so I'll be able to protect you." Arthur dared to close the distance between him and his mother, but was unable to conceal the vigilance in his eyes as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug,

"I'll try my very best to stay with you for as long as I can."

If Arthur had hugged his mother like this just moments ago, she'd have had to use her enormous strength to push Arthur away. Arthur would have gotten himself injured and the pain would last for days…

But today, she didn't summon any strength since she needed the hug after being reminded of what she had gone through with Arthur's father. She was a mother who didn't want her child to walk on the same path as his father.

Arthur who knew this smiled warmly. His mother felt this pain right from then— when she was at her weakest —to now— when she was at her peak.

"Get away from me before I chew on your neck," Celicia said after calming down to some extent, increasing the power in her muscles. Under the physical assault of his mother, Arthur's bones groaned, and his brows jumped.

Arthur pulled away from his mother like a rabbit that stepped on the tail of a mighty lioness. As soon as he saw his mother regaining her usual smug and open look, Arthur waved to her and ran out of the house.

In an abandoned factory, Lilith paced around frantically with an anxious expression on her face. She was wearing a long white robe and a pointed grey hat with a blue ribbon attached to it.

Resting with his back on a cracked wall, a boy with glistening black hair opened his dark green eyes. The extreme coldness and calm within them were enough to make one have goose pimples all over the body.

"Arthur has arrived… Aaron is with him." The black-haired boy rose to his feet, then turned his head to face the wide open door. His gaze sharpened as footsteps began to resound throughout the entire area.

"It looks like you're not so much of a dumb person after all, I almost doubted your ability to speak. Drake, you should talk more, you're a bit creepy when you sit with your eyes closed, but your body active."

A tall slender girl in green leaped down from the table she had climbed onto earlier, then walked over to Drake, the boy with black hair with swaying hips. She patted him on the shoulder before turning to Lilith who had a relieved expression.

"So sorry for keeping y'all waiting. Your bro, Aaron is here to wash away all your sorrows."

Instead of the usually firm and icy silvery voice of Arthur, only an overly excited and crispy male voice was heard.

Felicia's elven ears twitched as her eyes fell upon the human standing beside Arthur.

Dark black hair, average-looking face. He wore a grey shirt with a pair of short trousers and brown shoes. Only one look was enough to tell Felicia who the person besides Arthur was- A thief.

Arthur who walked further into the room nodded to the elven archer with long ears, Felicia, and Drake, the warrior. He smiled at Lilith before turning towards Aaron.

When everyone turned to face Aaron, they found his eyes conspicuously lowered. When they traced his gaze, they shockingly found him staring at Felicia's exposed thighs…

A perverted thief!

Arthur who noticed this mercilessly smacked the back of Aaron's head with a frown on his face. This guy was just too shameless.

Aaron who had his head smacked retracted his gaze and lifted his head, only to be greeted by another sight of Felicia's cleavage. He zoned out for a bit, unable to avert his gaze and this was instantly noticed by everyone on the ground.

By now, Felicia had gone into rage mode. Her eyes flared as she strode towards Aaron, and held him by the collar of his shirt.

Pa Pa Pa!

Aaron's eyes swirled after receiving three solid slaps from Felicia. He was too immersed in the sight of Felicia's bouncy chest coming closer to him that he wasn't able to do anything.

"Pervert!" Drake spat out with a frown on his face as he glared at Aaron. In his heart, he believed that the thief was something.

Drake turned to Arthur, demanding an explanation. He was only met with a helpless smile that said it all…

Arthur just ignored Aaron and walked past

Drake. Right behind Drake was a large black hole big enough to engulf a full human car.

"Let's be serious guys, the battle is yet to begin." Arthur said with a grim expression as he closed his eyes, "Equip your best equipment and sort out your inventory. I'll open the dungeon soon."

As soon as Arthur spoke, Felicia lifted Aaron into the air and let go of his shirt. She watched as he plummeted down to the ground on his butt, then looked up to Arthur with a pained expression on his face.

Arthur ignored him and opened his Systematic Inventory to open the chest containing all his equipment.

Arthur who was now covered in a faint blue glow smirked slightly. With the equipment given to him by his grandfather, Arthur could boast that no one on his level can oppress him in a one-on-one battle.

After Arthur equipped all his equipment, the blue light dispersed. He was left wearing sturdy silver armour which visibly seemed to be forged from hundreds of shed dragon scales. On his head was a thin grey helm, while on his arms were worn his dual Dragon Scale Gauntlets.

Arthur held his shield in his left arm, and his Flash Gale Sword- a long thin sword with a silver hilt in the shape of a cone, and a blade made of an unknown blue material -in his right hand.

By now the others, except Lilith who only had to bring out her staff, had equipped their weapons and armour.

Felicia remained in her green outfit, but only equipped a pair of glowing green shoes on her leg. On her back was a quiver full of metal arrows with greenish arrowheads, while in her hands was a wooden bow.

Drake equipped a full set of stunning red armour. His weapon was a long thick broadsword as huge as himself and a heavy metal shield with the insignia of the Servarna's Guard- The head of a white wolf with two swords crossed at the back, and a cross at the top of its head.

Aaron only brought out his dual daggers — True Duskbringers. He equipped a pair of silver boots and a leather hat for defence.

Seeing that everyone was ready, Arthur turned to the black hole and threw a large blue crystal into it.

"Let's go!"

Arthur only engaged in one or two skirmishes, hence, his paused advance. He was close to his bottleneck, but since he had not much kills except the guard, he couldn't level up. Arthur had promised himself to breakthrough to the next level, and he is still disciplining his tired self to get active and advance. "Arthur, you haven't been taking down any of the Lionakes. Aaron has been stealing most of your kills for a long while now." Felicia threw a glance in Arthur's direction, and raised her brow, "Are you okay? You still look a bit pale." Arthur hid behind a cluster of dead shrubs and rocks, assessing the situation before him with a frown on his face. Arthur shook his head and went back to surveying the monsters closely. The two Lionake Hunters and Stone Hooves seemed to be in some sort of strange haphazard formation.
