A few days had passed since Melissa’s sudden disappearance, and the family had noticed her absence, but no one truly realized the gravity of the situation until her mother, Elaine, reached out to Lord Leinhart in a state of panic.

Elaine’s voice cracked with desperation as she stood in her father’s private study, her face pale and her eyes red from crying. She clutched a handkerchief in one hand, her fingers trembling as she tried to speak through the tears. “Father... she’s gone. Melissa... she’s been missing for days.”

Lord Leinhart looked up from his desk, his face creasing in concern. “Missing? What do you mean, Elaine?”

“She left without telling anyone, and I haven’t heard from her since,” Elaine sobbed, her voice breaking with each word. “I thought maybe she needed some time alone, but it’s been days, Father. Days! I’ve tried calling her, but her phone is off. I don’t know where she is, and I’m scared something terrible has happened to her.”
