Chapter 14- More upgrades

She clicked on the Forge and a building token materialized in her hand.

The token had a metallic look with Forge written on it in the form of italics and level one below it.

"I already have the space, I can stay there to concoct some potion and pills. Let's upgrade some more, but it seems that the core will be hard to get since not every animal has a core."

[You're even more of a child than me. Must I remind you of everything.]

Zara's voice sounded annoyed.

Zephyra was confused, she did not think she had forgotten anything.

[Use your talent, dumbass.]

"Hey, am your master okay. You get that? Now which talent are we talking about?"

[Midas touch]

Zephyra chuckled embarrassingly as she recalled the talent.

"Thank you" she had no excuse to go with, so she could only mutter a thank you.

She brought out the things needed for upgrade and used the midas touch on them.

For each object she touched, they released a blinding light.

As she progressed, she felt more playful that she did some magic spins before touching them.

Zara on the other hand wondered if her host had gone cuckoo, because what is this. It let out annoying sigh.

Zara ignored her host and thought about what she had been thinking after her host mentioned revealing herself.

'Should I do it. But my body, I look so small and chubby.

Ah!!!

I feel like dying. I just boasted to her that she would fall In-love with me once I revealed myself.' the system thought to itself ignoring it's host who was acting childish.

"Well, now let's see what is needed to upgrade the territory. I will upgrade the territory till I no longer have materials before upgrading the gate of summoning. I don't really need too many subjects for now, I can make use of the puppets. I have to get some things done while I hope to get some subjects with a good profession."

She clicked on the panel.

[Territory Name; Evernight]

[Territory Level: Level 2]

[Building Effect: The Lord’s residence. At the same time, it is also the place where the

Territory Token is kept.]

[Construction Upgrade: 50 units of wood, 50 units of fine sand, 50 units of stone, 50 units

of metal, 50 level 2 core]

[Territory Construction: Lord’s Wooden House (Level 2), Gate of Summoning (Level 1 )]

[ Buildings; Residential building]

[Lord Talent: Dispossessor ( Unique)]

Zephyra picked up the Forge she had used midas touch on and looked at the level written on it.

She was surprised it was still at level one but beside the forge was written perfect forge while below the level on was uniquely written on the token in italics.

She decided to keep the token aside first.

{Author, the cores will no longer be written in levels but tiers, different colors will be used to identify the level of which tier they belong to.}

Zephyra looked at the cores which had been upgraded, some had directly been upgraded to tier two and some at perfect tier 1 which is from 20-25.

Level 1-5 is Basic

Level 6-10 is Intermediate

Level 11-15 is Advanced

Level 16- 20 is Superior

Level 21- 25 is Perfect

Zephyra started another round of upgrades. Using the materials she had already upgraded.

While she did that she brought out puppets catered for different things to begin working on the place, first was a wall to act as defense.

She was not bothered about the material as she had gotten more than enough from the modern world.

You might wonder how she got them.

"Cough, she hadn't gotten most of them reasonably. She bought some at some shops that sold all the others she took from various construction sites, though she didn't just take them, she also left some money for them."

To avoid her subjects from getting disturbed, she kept the tent beside the Lord's house so the upgrades being carried out won't affect them.

"I wonder why they are still asleep. Is it normal?" Zephyra thought to herself but had no answer to her question.

She upgraded the territory until she couldn't upgrade it any longer, which was at tier 2 level 26.

The requirements had become ridiculous.

At level 5, she was required to have at least 5 people, basic farming tools, a profession guild or workplace, 100 tier 1 core Basic, 10 Lumber, 10 Lumber, 100 Stone, 100 wood, 100 iron ore, a Well.

At level 10, she had to have a population of 20 people, an active farm, 1 active profession workplace or guild, 10 tier 1 core Intermediate, 500 tier 1 basic cores, 50 Lumber, 50 Bricks, 10 fine timber, 50 steel, 10 refined iron, An active well.

At level 15, she had to have a population of 40 people, 2 profession workplace or guild, 700 tier 1 core Basic, 100 tier 1 core Intermediate, 1 tier 1 core advanced, 200 Lumber, 300 Bricks, 100 fine timber, 200 steel, 100 refined iron, 10 Gold, 10 silver, 10 reinforced stone, a trade route, improved defense structure, 5 professionals present.

At level 20, she had to have a population 70 people, 2 active profession workplace, 1000 tier 1 core Basic, 700 tier 1 core Intermediate, 100 tier 1 core advanced, 1 tier 1 Superior Core, 1000 Bricks, 300 fine timber, 700 steel, 100 refined steel, 300 refined iron, an active trade route, a subordinate territory of level 1, 100 gold, 100 silver, 100 reinforced stone, a training ground, 10 professionals present, a market place.

At level 25, she had to have a population of 100 people, 3 profession workplace, 2000 tier 1 Basic cores, 1000 tier 1 Intermediate Cores, 300 tier 1 core advanced, 100 tier 1 Superior Cores, 3000 Bricks , 2000 fine timber, 2500 Steel, 700 refined steel, 700 refined iron, 2 trade route, 2 level 1 subordinate territory or a level 5 subordinate territory, 10 training equipments, 15 professionals , 5 Defensive equipments , 3 war equipments, A basic blueprint , 1 basic gems of earth element.

At level 26, she had to have a population of 150 people, 5 profession workplace, 10 tier 2 core Basic, 5000 fine timber, 10000 Bricks, 10000 steel, 8000 refined steel, 15000 refined iron, 3 active trade routes, 1 tier 1 subordinate territory, 20 training equipments, 20 professionals, 10 Defensive equipments, 5 war equipments, A basic blueprint, 5 basic Earth gems, 1 basic Water gems, 1 evolution gem.

Zephyra was able to bypass the population requirement through the puppets as they have a life core within them which exhibit life signs.

Other requirements were also fulfilled through the puppets.

She had some of them hunt and others do the building.

Among the space rings she had gotten from her second life. Five of the space rings should be owned by a puppeteer. Each space ring contained puppets with different professions.

In a space ring you can see more than 10 groups of puppets with different professions and all of them boasted of high levels.

She did not have to pause the upgrade, until she reached level 26 where she could not upgrade again as that was the limit till the next system upgrade and she did not Even have enough evolution gems as she had been lucky to get three from the once gotten from the monsters killed by the puppets.

The moment she clicked the upgrade button from level 25 to level 26.

That is, going from tier 1 to tier 2.

The Eldoria system panel buzzed before letting out a sound.

Ding!

Ding!!

Ding!!!

She clicked on the notification button which kept flashing a red ominous light.

What she saw surprised her a little.

¶¶ [ As the first person to reach tier 2, do you wish to announce your name?

Yes/No ]

Zephyra clicked on No.

She did not want the attention that came with it. Though it surprised her a little as in the novel, it was said that the system did not ask such and just announced the achievement.

¶¶¶ [Congratulations for being the first to upgrade your territory to tier 2, you get a legendary Chest.]

¶¶¶ [ Do you wish to announce your achievements in the future? If No, the following are your compensation.]

[ ∆ A wish Scroll

∆ Upgrading all your talents to the highest.

∆ Fusion Scroll ]

Zephyra looked at the enticing option and began analyzing them.

"If i chose a wish Scroll, what will i wish for?

I don't really have anything I want except to survive. Besides, this wish Scroll depends on probability and has different grades."

As for the talent upgrade, her talents were already at its peak for now, except it was to level up all her skills to which she would have gladly chosen.

If such an option would come during the third system upgrade she would choose it, as then, the limit put on the talents would be lifted.

"I could pick the wish Scroll and upgrade it with the midas touch but the level of midas touch is still low .I would pick the fusion scroll then" she muttered as she clicked on the fusion scroll.

If she could fuse her space with her territory, if something happens, she can absorb her territory and leave.

¶¶¶ [ You have chosen a fusion scroll]

The scroll materialized before her carrying with it an ancient and primordial aura.

Zephyra had to hold herself together before grabbing it.

Using inspect on it, she found out it was a unique fusion scroll.

"Let me try using midas touch on it."

"Tsk, it really didn't upgrade. Well what did I expect"

"Huh, what is that? Wait, I can see" a strange voice entered into her ear.

It happened that her subjects had finally woken up.

She looked at the time, she had only one hour before the next day began.

"How Time flies." She turned to them before speaking. " Make yourself comfortable, I will brief you on what to do very soon."

After that, she turned to the scroll and grabbed it.

The moment she touched it, it lost its luster and brightness.

A strange panel appeared above the one she was already viewing.

¶¶¶[What do you wish to fuse?]

"Zara, can you help me out with this? Am not sure if I can get such a scroll again. I want to fuse my personal world, my territory and the ones that have been and will be conquered."

[Host, I would see if I can circumvent it.]

[ Host, I may have to go to sleep after these. You have only one chance, if it doesn't fuse then everything would be for naught and your personal space may even be discovered.]

Zephyra clenched her first and put her hand in the form of a cross. She hoped her bad luck was a little far away from her just for her to be done.

She marked her personal space and the one territory her puppets had conquered.

She noticed a small box above which was meant for a tick mark to appear.

She clicked on it and the scroll released a blinding light.

After the light receded, she checked for the scroll and found out it had disappeared.

"It seems like I failed." Zephyra was down and it was so noticeable that even her subjects who had been watching in awe felt sad for her.

Zephyra was feeling too light, like she would fall asleep followed by an intoxicating warmth.

She used her talent for the eye of law to check out her surroundings and noticed an interwoven web of laws from her personal space, Eldoria and the modern world.

Though they were connected, they did not influence each other.

Zephyra's eyes widened in happiness when she saw it.

She opened her panel and her spirit had gone up crazily, even her stats were no longer the same.

Before she could rejoice, she noticed that she could feel three worlds in her consciousness now.

Her personal world was on top, followed by the modern world before Eldoria.

It felt like she could control them but the one she had the most control over was her personal world.

As for her control over Eldoria, it only allowed her to have long distance teleportation anywhere in Eldoria though she could feel a world above Eldoria that was so dangerous, she couldn't come in contact with it now.

She looked at her system panel and noticed another ominous light which was a deeper shade of red.

Zephyra clicked on the Arion among the three which had little to no explanations.

∆ Arion : Arion has a cockroach-like life force, not only possesses the ability to choose which side story to highlight but also infuses this choice with an enduring resilience. Their unique life force grants them the capacity to witness the cyclical struggles between the Biggest Villain, Malachi, and the Biggest Protagonist, unscathed by the consequences of their choices.

As Arion weaves the narrative, their indestructible nature becomes a symbol of continuity amidst the ebb and flow of protagonists and antagonists. The cockroach-like life force ensures that, regardless of the intensity of the highlighted side story, Arion persists as a constant, an eternal observer tethered to the essence of existence.

This added element enhances Arion's role as a narrative anchor, emphasizing not only their neutrality but also their timeless connection to the unfolding events. The juxtaposition of their resilience with the ever-changing dynamics between light and darkness adds a layer of intrigue, inviting readers to contemplate the significance of this enigmatic character with a life force reminiscent of the indomitable cockroach.

She did not bother about the rest since she want nothing to do with the plot, it would be best if she had minimal influence on the plot.

Arion in other words a neutral character.

She could also be a historian or archivist since she knows the plot of the book but she does not want to be too involved in the plot.

It allows her to be fence sitter while also not bearing the burnt of the plot once stirred.
