Mason, who was familiar with police procedures, made sure not to say anything that contradicted Sonia's earlier statement. All the information he provided matched Sonia's, and the police didn't see any reason to conduct a background check on him. After the police collected Mason's statement, the scene slowly dissolved, leaving a few cops to patrol Sonia's premises in case Gab decided to return to the villa.
