Chapter 13: Harvest Function
"Huh?" It dawns on me what this means.
With the ever-dwindling food and housing, this is quite good for the real world. Clothing…shelter? Urbanization has mad high-rise buildings really common. The norm even. With the reducing landmass available due to flooding (from global warming), buildings with more floors are a wiser choice since it will accommodate more people with the same piece of land.
That's good and all but why am I jumping the gun? Bringing loot to reality? Is that even possible? I know man's technology has grown by leaps and bounds but this concept and be likened to creating something from nothing. Can the in-game stimuli be counted as a form of energy? VR loot as energy convertible to real life objects? I doubt that. Maybe they mean something like, you can bring it out to the real world as a hologram or something. Let's move on for now and try it out when the update is complete.
"Thanks for the cake."
"Are you leaving?"
"Yes…" Why do I feel a little weird leaving her alone? She seems to be unhappy with parting with me. Her voice and downcast expression say it all. "You want to come with me?"
"Can I?"
"Why not?" I walk closer to her. "I live alone, and I have rooms to spare so how about you come and live with me?"
"…With you?" She looks up from staring at her feet and into my eyes. "can I really?"
"It's MY house, so why not? My words are the house rules. I decide who stays and who doesn't."
"Thanks Dexter."
"No need to thank me. We can be considered friends now after all. Acquaintances at the very least."
"Oh~ So, I'm Dexter's girlfriend now?"
"Uh…Just go pack up your things."
"What things? I actually don't have anything to bring with me."
"…?" I thought NPCs would have like a house with clothes or other luggage and stuff or something close to that with how above and beyond they went in improving the realism of the game. I guess not?
"Well, I never really noticed I had nothing. I just usually stood here all day and black-out once the bakery was designated as closed and head to the woods to get baking ingredients once I woke up. I would bake the goods and wait for customers that never came. Once the time to came around once more, the baked goods will disappear, and I have to repeat the process the following day. I broke out of this cycle recently too."
"So, you don't have a change of clothes?"
My clothes would usually automatically be as good as new every new day and I never had to take a bath. But then it suddenly stopped once I started hearing Admin's voice."
"…Hmm." What do I do in this situation? I can't bring her out like this.
I lookup clothes in the store and I need to get a Fashion Ticket if I want to buy clothes that aren't special (Have magic enchantments or have special functions) since they cost less than a U coin which I don't have at the moment.
I check my M points to see I only have 896/1000. The monsters we killed on our way back weren't enough to bag me another U coin.
"F**k it." I'm dressed in only a black shirt, jean pants and a pair of black leather boots. "I don't have a hoodie but I'm a man and going shirtless shouldn't be a problem." I mumble under my breathe as I remove my shirt.
"Kya!" She shrieks in panic t the sight before coming to a pause with a questioning expression on her face. "Wait. Why did I just react that way? Hmm…"
I stare in disbelief. Did she just react like some humans would on seeing someone strip? Her cheeks are also red. I'm getting more dumbfounded the more I discover how close she is to a real person. If she was, she'd be an angel many men and women would fawn over. I just pictured myself marrying her before facepalming myself. What's wrong with me?
"Um…please don't misunderstand. I just want to help you look a little better. Your clothes aren't in the best shape at the moment. I'm just going to try improving it as best I can."
"Mm." She nods.
"Okay. Here goes nothing." I have never been into sewing and anything like that before. I can crotchet though.
I remove her dress slowly, revealing her bra? It's not a bra but a bandage wrapped around her chest which she covers with her hands. I lower the upper half of the dress and tuck it into the lower part of it making it look like a skirt. I then make her wear my shirt. Although the lower part of the gown…or the skirt is still dirty, at least her upper half is clean.
"How do I look." She asks shyly.
"Much better." I look at her from head to toe. Her shoes will need to be replaced but it's not urgent. This should be fine. "We can go now if there's nothing else."
"Mm." She walks over to me and holds my right hand.
"…" We look like a couple as we walk through the city while holding hands. Although most people aren't ogling at us, I still feel shy.
[A Request For Rental Of Building Under Your Ownership]
"Hmm?" I look at the notification. I guess buildings have started getting scarce already. "As is to be expected."
"What?" Elise asks while now locking arms with me.
"Oh nothing. We're almost there."
"Oh."
We finally get home and I show Elise to her new room. I bought her new clothes and shoes with the fashion ticket I bought with the rent I was just paid on the way back home with her: 1 U coin.
I also set up her baking equipment and even her Oven in the kitchen. I carried them in my singularity. I was scared something may happen to them in there even if they aren't 'living' like the time I put Elise in there, so I had to do the opening and closing of the gate repeatedly just like last time.
*** *** ***
Elise joined me in hunting monsters the past few days and made cake for me everyday as well. I can't get enough it especially since she keeps switching the recipes daily, giving me a different taste every time. I got to admit, we do get along well and living with her is really nice. I also don't want to admit it but…I think I'm already falling for her. Do I fall in love to quick? I don't know if it's really love since I've never felt this kind of love before. I have seen pretty girls and been attracted to them, but this feels…different. Mom and Dad would freak out if they found out.
Speaking of which, it's been 8 days already in-game and that's about 8 hours in the real world. The game has already notified me to log out within the next game day since my real body is getting exhausted. I don't want to leave Elise, but I can't be in here all the time. I haven't spoken to my folks. For me it's been 8 days in here no matter the time outside. By the way, it will be a good opportunity to try out the Harvesting Function. The game apparently concluded updates two days ago, but I've been so busy trying to level up and bag U coins, I haven't.
"Let me see…what do I try first?" I look around the house and pick up a spoon. I want to see if the harvesting function can bring the spoon back to the real world.
On appraisal, I am notified that it will cost me 4 U coins to take it to the real world. Isn't that enough to but a building in-game? What am I saying? If this actually works, the two can't be compared. I have exactly 4 U coins at the moment. It should be fine.
"You're going back to the real world, aren't you?"
My mind is smashed with a hammer as I am brought back from the game to reality? Game-reality? By Elise's voice.
Wait. What did she just say?
Chapter 14: I'm Not A Real Person "Elise…hello." Why am I panicking? Scratch that. Why shouldn't my heart pound? If she has really realised that she is not real and this world is virtual, how do I appease her? How do I make her come to terms with that? "Real…world?" "You don't have to lie to me. It's fine. I've learnt a lot the past few days while listening to the Admin. She's not a real person either, is she?" "…No." I really didn't think this would happen (her finding out). At least not this fast. "But the fact that you're not real doesn't mean you're insignificant to me." "…" She doesn't respond. I can't tell what the meaning of the expression on her face is, but I thinks she's pouting? I don't know. I might be wrong. I walk over to her and look hr in the eye. "You don't believe me?" "…" "Come on. Please answer. You're making me nervous." She doesn't answer but kisses me on the cheek before turning around and by the time I snap out of the trance I entered after the kiss; sh
Chapter 15: Boom Not Boon For Humanity "Is there any way to tell who is and who isn't?" I ask. "…Hmm." She seems to be in thought. "At the moment, we can only check through the system, which is taking some time to check all the servers but as for regular players? I'm not sure you can differentiate them unless they have their memories. Some of them usually suffer amnesia. And those with their memories are usually freaking out. Some weird ones were slightly happy though. Anyway, all the ones we have found so far have been moved to a separate server." "…" My heart is pounding crazily at the moment. Elise may most likely be a player who has amnesia. Wait. The admin said she was an NPC. "Can the admin tell if a player was sucked in? Is it possible for it to mistake players as NPCs that have gained sentience?" "This…I don't think so. The admins should have records of the NPCs that were generated before the players logged in. So, it should be easy to compare." I sigh in relief. "But, wi
Chapter 16: Cangue City's Arena "Phew." There are more people than I expected. There are many seats in this stadium. Stadia actually. The arena is split into multiple stages of different sizes and shapes for different types of matches which can be run simultaneously. You pay 0.2 U coin for a regular seat and 0.5 for a VIP seat. Well, there are technically no 0.2 or 0.5 U coin currency but that is what is charged to your Arena Ticket. I don't know why, but I got two tickets and paid for a VIP seat. [3 U coins → 1 U coin] [2 Arena Tickets → 1.3 Arena Tickets] I paid for a regular seat first but after getting uncomfortable while seating amongst others, I got a VIP one and the previous ticket is non-refundable. The most interesting matches are the ones fought by teams that have gotten popular in the short time the game has been released. I could wipe them out alone but learning how they fight will get me knowledge to be more effective. I may not need to care right now since I will
Chapter 17 The dual swordsman, Francis stays in the ring while his partner heads out and Juliet the female orc stays in with Marcus stepping out. "Start." The two of them cautiously walk in circles looking for an opening in their opponents. This goes on for about seven seconds before Francis throws the word in his right hand at Juliet's neck before charging at her. She ducks and comes back up with a leap towards her opponent. Whilst in mid-air, she pulls out a club from her inventory and swings it down at him which he blocks with the sword left in his left hand. He manages to parry the strike but staggers a few steps backward. Her strength seems to have overwhelmed him. She dishes out a kick towards his right knee, but he slides his leg backward causing her to miss, hitting the air before landing on the ground forcefully. Before she can retrieve her left leg, he steps on her left foot with his left foot, pining her in place and hitting striking her wa

As for teams, the average level of the teams must have a difference no greater than 1 and the difference between the highest levels on each team should be no greater than 2. Chapter 1What do you define love as?Caring for someone? Wanting to be more than friends? Something you feel for someone you want to spend the rest of your life with? How you feel about your family? Can you use the word love to describe the care an owner has for his/her pet? Most will say yes, I think.“I love this pen.” Is that statement wrong? I don’t think so except you want to actually date the pen. Now that is just crazy. At least that’s what I would have said a few months ago.No. I’m not in love with a pen. Yes. I still consider such an ideology bonkers. But I’m in love with an NPC.Well, the game administrator says she’s technically no longer an NPC as she’s now tagged ‘error,’ but you get the gist.Hello. The game took basic characteristics from my IRL form and slammed them on my Devil Elf form. A dark-skinned elf with black slick back-styled hair and a rectangular body type. Nope! Chapter 12: Leveling Up By Stalking If I form a party with her, we'll be unstoppable in future. Calm down. Calm down. No need to jump the gun. She may just want to gain power to be independent. I can't force her to form an actual party with me at the moment. I exhale as I concede. "Fine. Just make sure you don't get hurt, ok?" "Of course. I don't want to cause more trouble for you after all." "…Then, let's proceed." *** *** *** We ended up killing our way back from the woods, but I still haven't levelled up. She could just find the highest in the player food chain and stalk them if they don't form a party with her. Leveling up by stalking. Heh. Sounds like a cool Manhua premise? Well, I am technically one of, if not the player at the top of the food chain in this area. What if she knew that and approached me just because of this? Ah. No. What am I thinking? She was indeed badly in

I jump down from the tree and head in the direction where the sound came from stealthily and carefully. I'm greeted with the smell of blood followed by the sight of a beautiful girl lying motionless on the ground. My senses tell me that she's unconscious, but I am still vigilant as I approach her. She is dressed in a pink dress with a cake symbol on her left chest. Her feet seem to be bruised. Did she loose her footwear on the way? She's lost and is still loosing a lot of blood from her injuries. With such a status effect, she will die since her HP will h
