I am a what now?

"Yo, Dane. Stop staring at her." The man was staring at the doctor nonetheless. He was infatuated. Despite being thrown out of an intense relationship because of his girlfriend's death, Dane still loved being around women.

Or maybe it was the feeling of falling in love all over again that excited him. Shamelessly.

Or that he just wants to sex her up.

Dr. Chen turns to Dane, running her eyes up and down his seated figure. He looked fine. He looked more than average, actually.

"Dane—!"

"What is your full name, boy?" The woman asked Dane who furrowed his eyebrows.

"Dane Summers..." he answers, not understanding her question. Because he was sure Charlize had already introduced him before, uttering the same name.

Dr. Chen stared at him nonchalantly. There's no way a normal human like Dane can be so dumb.

"Full name, Dane Summers. Full. Name." Dr. Chen was sounding pissed. She gave the man one more chance to prove himself. If he doesn't, she's going to take the universal sign and leave the house in a heartbeat.

Protectors of humanity and beyond always have an identity par to divinity.

Dane was simply refusing to be part of that power. With someone so uninterested, divinity cannot emerge from him to become a 'protector'.

And by divinity, Dr. Chen means the harnessing power of earthly, elemental power against the monsters. It was very easy to identify who Dane Summers was.

Especially with a perfectly visible aura around him. He was like a cute snack for the invisible monsters spirits riding on his shoulder. And that's the reason why he must be able to control it.

"Fine. But my late mother took an oath from me to never say the name out loud. All my documents were changed. I can't believe I'm doing this, because you look like you'll kill me if I say it or not. Eitherway, I'm your captive." He says, trying to sound cheeky.

Both women stare at him with a poker face. None were interested.

"Okay, okay. My name is Dane ARTEMAS Summers. Happy now?"

For the first time in his life, someone was gasping and holding their mouth in shock after hearing his full name. None took him to be of Greek origin, moreover have such a traditional name.

Because he was bullied a lot as a kid, he thought his mother changed his middle name into his surname, hence removing the actual surname.

He couldn't fathom their reaction. What was it supposed to mean? A good reaction or a bad one?

As for Charlize, she never knew!

Dr. Chen slowly craned her neck towards the woman who was so oblivious to that name. He existed right beside her for several fucking years. And she never took the time to learn his full name!?

"Really. Liz?" Charlize was smiling behind her palm.

"I never knew...Ma'am. I'm sorry."

Dr. Chen sighed.

She put the spectacles away. Her doctor's coat with some blotches of blood was slowly slipping off her shoulders and thrown to the ground.

She flicked her wrist, sending the table flying to the side. Dane freaked out! Was she a monster with monstrous powers too!?

"Alright," She begins, "Here's the deal, Dane. You bear the name of a whole clan that started Monster Hunting as a fucking profession. You were born into a fucking golden lap, you hear me? You are obliged to join the organisation—"

"Wait wait wait! Pause. I am obliged? To whose ass? I'm not fighting any monsters, miss. I know you're hot, but I just can't—"

Makio takes only yes for an answer.

Charlize flinched when Makio suddenly summoned her diamond sword. The one whose rarity is as celebrated as it's strength.

Dane pushed himself back into the couch, screaming for his life! The sword's tip was nudged to the side of his neck. He feels an injury as small as a paper cut with such a thick sword!

"When I said something, Artemas, you're not allowed to speak back. Got it?" Dane was breathing ruggedly, sweat forming on his face as he looked at the scary woman in front of him.

"Well," She withdrew her sword, under the impression that the foolish man has been tamed. He was more than tamed. He was ready to be her lap dog as well.

That was too intense.

"Oh my God! Alright!" He exclaimed once the woman sat back. Like a grumpy kid, Dane folds his arms across his chest and sat back.

"Good puppy. Well, I'll have to go enroll myself as the medical examiner for your little nuisance now." Makio turned to Charlize who was shamelessly staring at the diamond sword.

Of course.

Who born with an extra pair of lips won't like diamonds on this planet?

"Liz." Makio called her name in a deep voice. She finally flicked her hand and the sword disappeared back into its realm of existence.

"I'm talking to you, Liz."

"Oh- uh...um...yes, Dr. Chen. I totally heard you." Swallowing her drool back, she spoke. Makio knew she didn't let any words pass through her mind after having the whole diamond sword against her face.

"As punishment, you're driving me there with your car. You hear me?"

"W-what about me?" Makio looked over her shoulder while putting her coat back on.

"You are to keep everything of this...a secret. You're not an awakened human yet. You're a liability not just for us, but for many more. Stay at her house, and you, take care of him."

"Yes ma'am."

Dr. Chen and Charlize leave the house to Dane, again. However, with the assurance this time that the strongest Monster Hunter...was born.

"How long has he been your friend?" Dr. Chen asks Charlize.

"For four years. But he isn't actually my friend. He's my best friend's boyfriend." Charlize tried to clarify again. Only be glared at by her senior.

They get to the medical examination lab. Charlize confirms the building and tracks who has been assigned for the medical examination of Ruth's body.

"Oh shoot."

"Why shoot?" Dr. Chen wanted to know, "They're already heading down the hallway to Ruth! We have to hurry!"

Makio jumps her eyebrows.

"Can't believe I'm wasting my powers on this." Saying, Dr. Chen clicks her fingers. Regardless of her hesitancy or complains, she was still an advocate of a whole secret organisation.

And she has to keep the truth hidden. At all costs.

Humans learning that monsters are very much alive and living amongst them is far more dangerous than hiding the truth itself. Hence, precautions must be taken.

Feeling like a whole roller coaster ride as they made their way into the hallways, Dr. Chen looks at Charlize for the next action.

"Right. They're near the office!" Clicking the fingers again, they appear near the office door.

"Fuck. I can never get used to this." Charlize mumbled below her breath. Soon after, she burst open into the office room.

She knows her drill.

"STOP THE EXAMINATION ON BODY 138! RIGHT NOW!"
