Sparkling sword of Dr. Chen

Dane was terrorized by the presence of such women around him. One was a monster, her best friend's a psycho mass murderer who can plan an 'accident' so well that she can fool the police. And the other one - her boss, apparently - is one of the most psycho personalities he's ever seen in anyone else.

A diamond sword!?

Shivering in his timbers, his body was curled up inside the warm blanket he carried from the bedroom to the hall. The TV was playing a Bible in full volume, reading the notes and explaining it precisely.

"What the fuck man...?" He expressed his distaste in the narrator's reading. He was monotonous, much more like a donkey bred with a man and gave him the interest in preaching the Holy Bible.

But, changing channels now was like suicide. He was too paranoid to even move an inch.

He shouldn't realize that someone close to him was a monster, right?

Seemed like an easy task.

Until it did not.

What if he went across a public street, suddenly realized how many monsters would be sufficient to wipe out the entire normal human population in the city, and they started attacking him?

Didn't seem like a good scenario.

But he was hungry.

And Charlize was too broke for a human Monster Hunter. There was literally nothing edible left in her home anymore.

On the other hand, Charlize screamed at the authorities on top of her lungs. A man almost spilled his scalding coffee on his chest! But she neither cared nor tried to act subtle.

"CHANGE BODY 138's MEDICAL EXAMINER! RIGHT. NOW!" She exclaimed.

"But why...?" A doctor walked out, judging them hard. That was until his eyes landed on the monster hunter Dr. Chen.

It was Dr. Makio Chen in flesh and blood standing in his office!

"DR. CHEN!?" He screamed as well. He stumbled on his own foot, falling on the couch with disgrace. Throwing his coat to the side, he looked at the tall woman and dialed an emergency number within a heartbeat.

"Dr. Mei, please withdraw! I repeat, Dr. Mei, please withdraw!" He exclaimed into the phone as it went to the speaker's straight. He tried catching their attention, only to realize Dr. Mei had already entered the body's room.

"D-Dr. Chen and whoever you are. Follow me." He quickly directs them, slipping through the space of the doorframe and Dr. Chen with his bulged belly.

The trio run down the hallway, body in room number 3A-37 was untouched still. They were still preparing and sterilizing.

"Dr. Mei! You are requested to attend another autopsy. Please follow me." Said the doctor.

'Oh~ Now I see.' Charlize smirked to herself when she realized!

Makio Chen manipulated the normal human to follow her mind!

How skilled was Makio Chen exactly?

Her powers were unfathomable.

Almost limitless.

Or so she thought.

Soon after the doctor and her nurses ran out to attend another autopsy, Makio Chen released her powers with a great sigh.

"Dr. Chen!" If it wasn't for Charlize catching her by instinct, Makio would have fallen on her face, maybe breaking her nose and teeth. It would be a high fall for her.

"I'm alright." Dr. Chen tried to cheat her way. Taking a deep breath, she turned to Charlize as she stabilized herself. The powers take an incredible toll on her body and that's the second biggest con of her limitless powers.

She smirked at Charlize, a bright one.

As if she was on a high.

"Thank you for the body, Charlize."

Her smile was cynical. So cynical that Charlize started to see the fading of lines between actual monsters and the monsters existing within them.

Back at Dane.

The man was staring at the door with the knob in his hand. He was one twist away from facing humans who had the unawareness of a monster residing in them.

What if her neighbors were monsters? The married couple with children, living right beside Charlize's house. He didn't have Charlize with him either. He was as powerful as dead meat.

Covering himself with everything he had, he pushed a few bills in his pocket to go shopping. He was finally stepping out into the sun.

The street was too loud for his own good. The doors and windows locked throughout the house filtered any noise from outside. Suddenly, everything seemed too overwhelming.

His ears were ringing, his body was sweating and he was reeking of a skunk. He hadn't bathed, hence fermenting in his own sweat for two whole days.

"Fuck, I'm hungry." That was his only motivation.

Barging through many people on the street, he reaches a small market. Anything to put in his stomach was fine. Even flowers or their stems was food to his hungry stomach.

Dane was one step away from joining the homeless beggars on the street. He was panting with no energy left in him.

He didn't know why he was this hungry. Especially when Charlize gave him enough food to last for two whole days. Pasta was delicious. But his stomach is made of steel.

"Food...food..." he softly uttered to himself. There was a fruit stall nearby, a meter away to his left.

"Brother...give me anything for two dollars. Please." He said, pulling out the note. However, the other dollar note simply flew off with the gush of wind that breezes through.

Both turn to look at the note triggering a street dog, it simply brushes its fur. It tore the dollar note to pieces.

"One dollar." He said, reframing his wish. The seller shook his head at the hungry man and gave him grapes which were worth half a dollar.

"Take these. You get nothing more." Pushing Dane away, he sent the stinking, homeless looking Dane back into the street.

'Just great', he thought.

The world could be too cruel to allow humans to live anymore, he thought. 'Maybe humans aren't meant to be protected.'

Gulping the juicy grapes as he ate them passionately, he breathed in solace. His stomach was almost full.

Almost.

"Fuck!" He exclaimed when his stomach growled, again!

The grapes were nowhere near enough!

He had enough of the starvation as he ran back to his own house. He couldn't tolerate being poor and looking homeless anymore.

Eating a ton, enough food that could feed a baby elephant, Dane sighed loudly. He was almost full, but never reached the limit yet.

Why was he so hungry?

He tried to bathe and get rid of the stench on his body. Maybe it was time to move on, he thought.

Depression shouldn't last that long, he thought.

However, someone was impatiently ringing his doorbell. Dane flinched under his shower. He didn't want to welcome an uninvited guest.

However, It wasn't any other uninvited guest who knocked up on his door.

Several emotions began spilling out of his face as he looked at them both.

"Oh...mom, dad. I missed you both so much!"
