CHAPTER TWO

Max woke up in a hospital room, his head aching the more he remembered what had put him here.

"Are you awake, boy?" someone asked, it was the gym owner. "Thank God, I think my gym is about to make its first history as a place where murders happen."

"Are you the one who took me to the hospital?"

"Yes... I won't let you die where I work." "How long have I been unconscious?"

"About 5 hours?" said the gym owner in a doubtful tone. "Your head was bleeding but there were no serious injuries, thankfully."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Then why is there something weird appears in front of my face right now?"

The gym owner was silent in confusion. "What weird thing?" staring at Max who was just looking straight up at the ceiling of his room.

"It's like a hologram screen in front of my eyes, it's very bright and there's something written on it," Max said. "What does it say?"

"Install all system devices to connect with the user. Yes? No?"

The owner of the gym named Darius was stunned with an astonished look. He wanted to ask but thought it would be better to call a doctor.

"Wait here, I'll call the doctor," Darius said and left.

Meanwhile, Max, who was still silent and staring at the transparent screen in front of him, said, "Is something wrong with my brain? This screen won't go away even though I open and close my eyes repeatedly."

[Install all system devices to connect with the user. Yes/No]

He was slightly surprised when a voice came from somewhere, but Max believed it was from the transparent screen in front of him.

"Is this some kind of game to trick me?" Max asked, then reached out and touched the screen. [Ting!]

He was surprised when there was a reaction to his touch. He could actually touch the screen. [Installation in progress. Estimated time: 30 seconds]

"What?"

[Ting!]

[Installation completed]

[Welcome to the Pyramid Wealth System]

[This system is a system that grants users wealth after completing a given number of tasks] [Username: Maximillian]

[Level: 0] [Ability: basic]

[Wealth: $1.000.000]

[Task: Task startup [in progress]]

Max frowned, increasingly clueless about what he was reading. He tried to sit up, and the system screen didn't disappear. "Is this real?" he asked, almost in disbelief. "Is there really a system in the real world? And it came to me?"

[Ting!]

[Task incoming]

[Task start-up: spend the first $1,000,000 within 3 days!] [Prize: $1,000,000]

Max was still in disbelief, until his cell phone vibrated on the table and the top notification made him hold back a scream.

"Oh my god!"

The notification from the bank read that Max had just received a million dollar transfer into his account. Max was clearly dumbfounded, he'd never seen that many zeros number of money, let alone to have.

"Is this serious?" In shock, Max dropped his cell phone when Darius arrived with a doctor.

"Hey, Max? What's wrong with you?" asked Darius, shaking Max who was still silent with his mouth wide open. "Hey, Max! Doctor, please check him! I think something's wrong with his brain."

***

In reality, there was nothing wrong with Max's body. After a night of hospitalization, he was able to get out of the hospital and go about his normal activities. Even with a bandage wrapped around his head.

But it didn't hurt at all because Max was focused on the fantastic amount in his account.

"Wow... this is real. This much money is really in my wallet!" Max said, still staring at his phone screen. He was skeptical at first, but after he tried to pay his hospital bills and succeeded, Max believed that what the system said was not a lie and that 1 million dollars was really in his hand.

"What am I going to buy? When I don't have money, there are so many things I want to buy. But when I have money, I don't even know what to buy first," Max said, walking through the corridor to his class.

But because he was only focused on his cell phone, he didn't know that in front of him was Zaco who intentionally tripped Max with his long legs, causing Max to fall down and be laughed at by many students.

"Haha, nice day, buddy. I thought you were dead!" Zaco said in a mocking tone. Max was annoyed and turned his head, but when he saw Tiffany laughing at him too, Max held back his anger and picked up his cell phone and stood up. "Hey, answer me. At least tell me how you're doing now. Are you still feeling dizzy?"

Zaco approached Max and rubbed his hair, Max endured a little pain.

"Ouh, sorry, I didn't know that your head would bleed from being hit by that gym machine, you seem to have a very hard head - that you don't want to give up your lover who doesn't love you anymore," Zaco said, speaking in a tone that was made to sound sad just to mock Max.

Max didn't want to be the center of attention, especially for something like this. He ignored Zaco and left, even with the taunts from Zaco and the other students.

"Go and tell on your mom, if you have one, haha!" " He'll tell his stepmom about you later, Zac."

"Oh yeah? God I'm so scared. But she'll be busy taking care of the other kids, because she's an orphanage mom! Hahaha!"

"Hahaha!"

Max was silent even though he was very angry to hear his stepmother being mocked, then he remembered that there was a lot of money in his account. Max checked it and the money was still there.

What if he started using it? The task said he had to spend the money in 3 days to get the extra 1 million dollars, right?

"Alright, I'll spend this much money even if it makes me puke," Max said, clenching his fists and becoming determined. "I'll make them all kneel for me."

Max reassured himself, then a beautiful woman passed in front of him that made Max half-gape. He couldn't take his eyes off the dark-haired woman with a body like a Spanish guitar.

"Irrisia Blaneur...," Max muttered, saying the woman's name. "She's the most popular woman here. A model and influencer. A true single because the last man she dated was Orion Stark. If I were to ask her out... if I were to date her, Tiffany would instantly realize how inferior she is compared to Irrisia."

While looking at Irrisia who walked away like a graceful swan, Max finalized his plan. He had already made his decision, and his decision made him walk up to Irrisia.

"Irrisia Blaneur," Max called out, making Irrisia turn around and look at him coldly. "Who?"

"Maximillian."

Irrisia didn't look friendly, but she didn't look like a bully either. "Do we have business?" asked Irrisia.

"No, but we will." "Pardon?"

"I have a special offer for you. Wanna hear it?"
