CHAPTER THREE

" Be your girlfriend?"

Max took Irrisia to the apartment he had just bought. He couldn't bring Irrisia to talk in a public place like a café, so he had deliberately bought a fairly luxurious apartment just to house Irrisia, while spending money as the system's task dictated.

"Not really, just like a contract." "What benefits will I get?"

"Wow, immediately interested? Do you need money?"

Irrisia sighed and rolled her eyes briefly. "Everyone needs and likes money, as long as it's not a request to kill or join a cult, I'll accept."

Max laughed, he was a little surprised to see another side of Irrisia, the most wanted lady of the university. "How much money do you need?" Max asked.

"500,000 dollars."

Max frowned briefly. With only $300,000 left in his account, he couldn't pay Irrisia right away because most of the money had already been spent on the apartment.

"I don't have that much money yet, after all, is being a boyfriend for just one week already that expensive?" "Not anyone can even be my contract lover."

Max smiled again at Irrisia's words. "You're very bold and cocky, but that doesn't matter. I'll pay you 500,000 dollars by noon tomorrow, without any deductions."

Irrisia didn't seem to mind. Did they have a deal this time?

"You're doing this for revenge?" she asked, drinking the soda Max handed her. "I heard Tiffany McConay is your ex-girlfriend, but she seems very happy with Zaco, the football player."

Talking about Tiffany and Zaco made Max look away, remembering the pain of betrayal. Seeing that Max didn't answer, Irrisia had her answer.

"You didn't look this wealthy at school. Did you deliberately hide your identity as a rich man?" asked Irrisia, changing the topic.

"I was also surprised that I had this much money, that I could buy a new apartment just to entertain my contract girlfriend."

Irrisia laughed. "I feel privileged," she said, "but I can't feel like my standards are sliding freely just to announce to everyone that we're dating."

"What?" asked Max. But Irrisia stood up suddenly. "Where are you going?"

Irrisia leaned closer and said, "If you want to be respected by people, make them feel your charisma by how you look. If you say you have a lot of money with that look, you'll just come across as a nut."

Max understood. Irrisia was apparently encouraging Max to improve his looks. But with such cold words .... "Should I add some tips so you don't talk to me that rudely? I'm tired of hearing it from people before you!" Irrisia didn't answer and continued walking towards the exit.

***

It was a bright day in Supernova. The students were preparing for their classes when Zaco and his friends' group came and made some noise.

Zaco was famous for being a handsome, rich and popular student. He was the player of the town football team and was charismatic, but at school he was also known as the student who loved to cause trouble and bully.

Zaco didn't even hesitate to force a student to sing and dance in the middle of the school corridor, just to embarrass him and it felt funny.

" Baby, stop it, he almost peed his pants," Tiffany said, sympathizing but she was just laughing at the student Zaco was bullying.

"You like seeing him like this, don't you? You laugh so beautifully," Zaco said, not thinking about the feelings of his embarrassed and helpless victim. "Do you want to see more than this?"

"Is it okay?"

"Why not? Hey, nerd, spin around without your glasses on!" Zaco commanded, making the student named Eddy startle and panic.

"But, Zaco, I can't see without my glasses. How can I turn around?"

"Did I tell you to make excuses?" asked Zaco, approaching the already frightened Eddy. "Did I tell you to make excuses!" while yelling, Zaco hit the locker behind Eddy, making the man even more scared and on the verge of tears.

"Hey, he's crying," said Eldon, Zaco's friend.

"Oh, yeah... he's crying. How is this? What should I do?" Zaco pretended to panic, before laughing out loud while lightly smacking Eddy's cheek. "How is this, huh? This noble child is crying! I'll definitely be punished! I'm scared...!"

"Zac, just let him go, haha." Tiffany sounded like she could defend him, but she still laughed and only spoke mockingly.

Eddy, who couldn't stand it anymore, finally left while holding back tears of embarrassment. He left followed by the laughter of the people, and the hallway became silent when Max arrived.

Max caught a glimpse of Eddy and as if he already knew what was going on, he kept walking, leaving the entire corridor stunned. How could they not? He made a big change to his looks.

Max who usually only wore long pants and long-sleeved t-shirts with stripes, now confidently wore a dark academia-themed suit that made him look elegant and casual at the same time.

Max also styled his brown hair with professional help. Simple accessories such as brown glasses that matched the color of his long coat, and the beautiful woman holding his hand.

"Isn't that Irrisia? Is she dating... Max?" "Maximillian from business class? Max the nerd?"

"He doesn't look like a nerd and looks really cool now. Did he suddenly become a rich man? I heard that the newest Prosce car out there is his."

"Really? Prosce 227?"

Zaco looked annoyed by Max's appearance, and Max saw that and enjoyed it. Zaco must have felt very jealous seeing Irrisia holding him, because Zaco had always wanted Irrisia to be his woman but Irrisia had always refused.

And also Tiffany ....

Tiffany seemed speechless seeing her ex-boyfriend who yesterday still looked geeky, now appearing with such a cool looks.

It was a look that Tiffany really liked, even Zaco couldn't dress up that neatly. "Move," Max said, right in front of Zaco. Zaco felt annoyed.

"What did you say?"

"Get out of the way. Are you going to stay in the middle of the corridor until dismissal time?" Zaco glanced around and realized that he was indeed standing in the middle of the corridor. "Do you want to be a parapet since your body is so big?"

"Wow, you also bought a new, bolder mouth with that impromptu money of yours? You seem to have worked very hard to be able to have this appearance. Which tycoon's house did you steal?"

"Stealing?" said Max with a hint of laughter, making Zaco hold back his annoyance. "I'm still too strong to be able to get anything relying on my power. Stealing is something only the weak and ignorant do."Max glanced at Tiffany beside Zaco, as if to further explain his point. Of course, that annoyed Zaco. The man immediately punched Max but Max dodged quickly and kicked Zaco's leg causing him to fall to one knee in front of Max.

The people watching them were of course shocked, especially Tiffany.

"Remember that I haven't forgiven you for that attempted murder in the gym," Max said, making people hold back their shock.

"Attempted murder? Zaco tried to kill Max and it was in a public place like the gym?" "Ah, I'm not surprised anymore. He's Zaco!"

Hearing people talk about him made Zaco even angrier, but Tiffany looked stressed because she felt embarrassed for Zaco. She briefly regretted her decision to date a troublemaker.

Now did face, wealth and popularity still matter? Especially seeing Max who now looked very happy with Irrisia, even though they only broke up three days ago.

"So... you're that kind of guy, huh?" asked Tiffany, turning Max's eyes to her. "You're so quick to fall in love with another woman even though that day you knelt down and said that you loved me very much. You seem to be a man who can changes his feelings very quickly." Max understood that Tiffany was trying to bring him down, but he was going to fight back this time.

"Aren't you like that too?" Max asked back, making Tiffany pause. "You fell in love with Zaco and dated him, even though we're still dating too. So, what kind of person do you want to complain about right now? Is he the same person as you? Or is he the same person as you but can do it in a better way?"

Tiffany held back her irritation, her eyes turning sharply to Max who was cornering her.

"I forgot to tell you that you guys are so well matched," Max said again, "I hope you stay together to the hell." Zaco wanted to hit Max again, but suddenly Irrisia hugged Max's arm spoilingly.

"Max, are you going to keep standing here? I can't stand seeing so many bad things here," she said in a spoiled tone, making Zaco dumbfounded. "Let's go if you have your affairs in order."

"Actually, I don't have any business here anymore," Max said, embracing Irrisia to leave in front of Zaco and Tiffany who looked very upset.

Tiffany left immediately without saying anything. Meanwhile, Zaco was still on the floor, feeling very humiliated and angry.

"I swear I will destroy you, you orphan!"
