Home / System / MY REINCARNATION REVENGE SYSTEM! / CHAPTER 005: Unbelievable Task.
CHAPTER 005: Unbelievable Task.

Ethan left Camilla's side and headed right for a calm and quiet class. He was also trying his best to be vigilant. He wouldn't want the eyes of his bullies to find him.

It was better to avoid them than punch them in the face, just as his system had ordered him to do the first time. He kept breathing heavily as he locked himself in the hall where he had entered. He sat down and tried to calm his nerves. It was time to know the truth; it was time to understand it all.

Although he knew that he had reincarnated, he still needed more details to explain what was happening to him.

“System? System!” He called out with an audible voice, like he was having an argument with his system.

[Host doesn't have to speak out so loud for system to listen!] It warned him again, and he recalled it. He instantly became calm.

“Sorry there… But can you explain what's happening? Because trust me, I'm about to lose it. What's really happening, and how did you get into my head?” Ethan questioned, his gaze fixed at a spot as he gave his system his full attention.

The second you chose to die, I was programmed to serve you. But unfortunately, you are just some weakling that can't fight for himself, and even worse, you are scared of your money-girlfriend.

The mechanical voice uttered, adding a pinch of mockery to its statement and tone.

“Mind what you say to me. I am your Host; I can choose to disable you if possible.” Ethan said, acting like he knew his way out.

[According to the question at first, I am the REINCARNATION REVENGE SYSTEM sent to Host to help him get revenge, become popular and level up too.] it responded, trying to explain it in a way that Ethan would understand.

“Wait, did you just say level up? In what way?” Ethan asked as he stayed calm. He was somehow beginning to enjoy what was happening.

[Host has to accomplish tasks given by system to level up.]

[Host will be rewarded with money that he never imagined he would have and will also be rewarded with more life and property.]

[Host just has to obey System] The mechanical voice echoed clearly, and just then, Ethan paused.

He knew how robots worked; they had no feelings, so trusting them wasn't an option. He was still thinking about what to do when, just then, he looked at the wall and saw the poster on it. Their graduation from school was the next day, and there was no way his mother wasn't going to be alive.

“RRS system?” He called, his voice shaky and in a haste.

“If I reincarnated, does that mean everyone else did too? Does it mean my mother is still alive?” He asked, his heart racing as he awaited a response from the system in his head.

[System has no idea] It responded bluntly, and immediately, Ethan sighed and stood to his feet.

“Only one way to find out!” He rushed to his class, grabbed his bag, and ran out of the school's premises. He just wanted to get away from the school and find his mother.

He wasn't happy to see that she had died in his past life because he couldn't afford to pay her hospital bills. He needed to see her.

He stopped a cab, and it took him in his direction. Soon, he got home, and with his hand grabbing the strap of his bag tightly, he walked into the house.

He was expecting to find his mother, but the house was empty. It looked as though she didn't exist in his present time with him. He felt so down, and his eyes went to the ground.

He was going to turn around and leave the house, but then her voice echoed from behind him, making him turn his attention to her.

“Why are you back home, Ethan?” She questioned softly. The second his eyes met with hers as she was walking out of his room, he couldn't help but jump for joy.

Without thinking twice, he rushed towards her and embraced her tightly, pulling her closer to his body.

“Mother!!!” He called, joy filling his tone.

“What's happening? Did something happen?” His mother asked curiously. She has never seen Ethan so excited before. And the way he hugged her was pretty different.

“I missed you so much, mother... Don't ever leave me again, please!” He pulled out briefly to look into her eyes before hugging her again.

“Ethan? What's this all about? Did you cause trouble in school again?” She asked, still confused.

“I didn't, mother, but I promise you, I'll never make the mistake of letting you leave my side again! It's just us this time around! Forever!” Ethan asserted, and just then, his mother felt emotional. A tear instantly trickled down her cheek.

“Wait here!” She said as she walked into her room. When she walked out, she had a suit in her hand. “Here you go... It's for tomorrow's event!” She said as she handed the cloth over to him.

As Ethan slowly received the dress from her, he couldn't help but recall the moment she gave him the dress in his past life. He was so happy back then, but this time, the feeling was different.

He tightened his grip on the dress as tears began to roll down his eyes.

“What? Don't you like it?” She asked, looking a bit confused at his expression.

“No mom… I…” He wiped his tears like a child. “I love it... I really love it!” He embraced her again, tightly.

“I will make them all pay this time!” He said inwardly before pulling out of her grip.

“I love you, Ethan... Now go into your room and get prepared!” She ordered, and without hesitation, he walked into his room.

Sinking into his bed, he felt so sad but happy that he got to see his mother with him. He wished to make her happier, and to do that, he just needed to do one thing: accept the System taking over him. There was definitely no harm in trying it out.

“RRS?” He called out, and immediately, the mechanical voice responded to his call.

[The host has summoned his System]

“You are sure that if I do all the tasks you give me, I'll get rewarded and level up with more lives and money too?” Ethan asked with a soft tone. He was really hurt at this point. He had suffered so much in his other life, and that wasn't what he wanted in this life.

[Host will get rewarded after each task. The RRS system doesn't fail.] It responded clearly, without any form of emotion attached to it.

“Fine! I'm willing to do everything you've asked. Just make sure my mother doesn't die too!” He bargained, tightening his fingers on his dress.

[Host will be rewarded with more lives, but host blood can't be saved by the System. Death is inevitable; it's bound to happen] it explained briefly, making Ethan instantly confused.

“What do you mean? Do you mean my mother will still die? It isn't her fucking fate! She was given the wrong drugs.” Ethan flared up at this point, like it was the RRS fault.

[Death is inevitable. It will happen unless Host ensures it happens to someone else.]

The mechanical voice said, and just then, Ethan stayed calm for a second. “And how do I do that?” He questioned it, but RRS didn't speak about it.

[Host second task has been created successfully and will be added to the list in 1…2…3].

“Task? I asked a question. How do I do that?” He asked curiously, like the system was sitting before him.

“You...” he was going to speak when, just then, a screen displayed right before his eyes. It felt as though it was real, but only he could see it.

[Name: Ethan Wills

Age: 22 years old.

Potentials- NONE

Abilities: Weaker than a bug.

Task: A security staff for six hours at graduation.]

“What? Weaker than a bug? A security staff Tomorrow? What? I can't do this!” Ethan snapped, refusing the task immediately.

[Host has to do as System says or host life would be reduced. Any task failed has its implications and you will end up dying sooner before you get your revenge]

[What would it be, Host? Carry out the task given or die before your mother?]
